First and foremost we are praying for the family out here that had is way worst off then we have. Yes we had to go in the car the first day and night to keep warm but there are so many others out here that still have no power and now we have a water issue. So many families are struggling to keep warm and get clean water our hearts truly go out to Texans.
Hey RU-vid Fam, Welcome to another Vlog video. This one is a bit long and yes it is snowing here in Texas.
Vlogging period Monday Feb 14 11pm to Feb 18 Morning.

Here's a tip. Cook all your raw meat and rice and pasta or other stuff. That way if you don't get power you still have food that can be warmed up quickly on the grill or eaten cold.

I come from zimbabwe 🇿🇼. Over the past 20 years almost, this has been our life! No regular power, no regular water, lines everywhere....When I was a kid, we definitely took for granted having normally working facilities...but from my teen years up, the term “over it” turned into “🤷🏾‍♂️ “. There are still rolling power outages everyday but “the bucket challenge” is now how I bath myself and the family. When the complaining stops, then the human spirit to “make a plan” kicks in. I couldn’t imagine being from the north though and dealing with subzero and all the other issues. No wonder the north progressed so fast technologically coz we in the south never had to deal with subzero weather like this. Anyways...I’m rambling because watching this video reminded me of the same journey I went through as a kid from 1. Disbelief of the situation, 2. Waiting for the gov to step in, 3. Realizing we were on our own, 4. Adjusting through frustration, 5. Adjusting through some experience, 6. Planning for the inevitable, 7. Keep keeping on! I enjoyed this vlog

My husband and I lost power at 5:30 Monday morning and it stayed off till Friday evening when it was finally restored at 6:00 that night. I feel your pain. It was really rough. But we were blessed that we never lost our water and did not have any pipe breaking. Some of our family and neighbors were not so lucky. Glad the winter storm has left. Praying for all the people still having to deal with all of this. God bless you and your family and everyone watching the video. Thanks for sharing. ♥️

Absolutely love Texans (and Floridians 😉). You guys are so warm and generous. Your channel is beautifully charming to watch. Hugs from the UK 🇬🇧 🤗 ❤ Going forward get yourself a gas camping stove and a camping heater so you can safely cook indoors and heat a room. Chancers are this may happen more often because of climate changes. We get big storms where I am in the UK and they're just damn handy to have for power outages. Hope that helps my lovely 😍

You and your man should invest in a small solar powered generator (backup battery) so you and the kids can stay warm if this were to ever happen again. Some are also able to Power most coffee makers so you’ll be able to have your fresh coffee. Best of wishes.

The sad part about it is the snow storms are not causing the power to be shut off there cutting of the power off in some parts of Texas if not all to save there power grid there also doing the same in Oklahoma there on timed power outages there which I thank is wrong because it's elderly people who are dieing and without heat running water or food I'm praying for every resident in Texas that some emergency assistance will be issued very soon 🙏🙏💪

I feel for ya, girl. My boyfriend and I grew up in Miami and only moved out to Austin 3 years ago. Never experienced cold like this before, and our power went out from Valentine's night until late Thursday night, straight through. I've never even vlogged before, so I'm only just starting now by putting together my videos from the winter storm experience, and been looking at others vlog's for tips on how to vlog this stuff, lol. On a side note, your hair is gorgeous 🔥. If I ever manage to finish putting my winter storm vlog together, I'll upload it to my boyfriend's YT channel ([Daniel Negreiros/Busker Dan] he's got the advantage of a YTRed account).

The take away I always get from moments like this ..especially as someone who grew up with this happening to us probably once a year or every other year to this degree is it just brings families closer together .. I promise the little ones when they hit their 20's and 30's WILL get the nostalgia and remember with fondness the time they all got through the Texas Storm together, you know? Great vlog.

I live in NW Houston and we went a total of 61 HOURS without power and when I tell you that was the WORST COLD I've ever experienced...Wearing 5 layers of clothes, double gloves, quadruple socks, none of that mattered because we couldn't get warm. Going to bed at night with no power and trying to go to sleep in the cold and waking up in the cold was horrible. My sheets and pillows felt like ice. The crackers we ate were as cold as ice. The doorknobs, countertops and sink faucets were ICE COLD. At one point, I knew I was suffering from hypothermia because I was extremely sleepy and disoriented. Not to mention not having any cell service WHATSOEVER to even know what the heck was going on was WORST THAN HURRICANE HARVEY.

Loved hearing your story! I live in Cedar Hill, Texas and yes the thought of losing power was crazy. Had the pipes on drip. Thankfully never lost power or water. Talk about blessed. I live in an apartment between a police station and a Walmart. Uncle lost power for 3 days. Mom lost power. Sisters lost power then her pipes burst. You all take care. It’s Texas , hang in there as we tend to thaw pretty quickly.

I'm proud that you had lots of food on hand and was able to navigate this disaster. A lot of people eat out all the time. Probably the ones at whataburger! Just in case this ever happens again, It may help to have a solar generator backup (Jackery or Bluetti), a Mr. Buddy Heater, 30 degree sleeping bags, and a couple of tents you can set up in the rooms to help keep body heat in. And you can hang some plastic sheeting over the windows which might keep cold air out a little more. Hopefully it won't happen again, but with things changing so much, who knows! God Bless.

First time to your channel! I think you will probably become a life long emergency preparedness family!!!1 Have you heard of a 150watt or a 1000 wattJ ackery solar generator, for charging your electric devices and cell phone? Have you heard of an Alexa Pure Water Filtrration System or Berkey or Sawyer Straw to filter your water? Do ya'll own cuddle duds? Wool socks, wool blankets, wool scarves? Have you seen those LED portable light switches? Are you aware of a small cheap tent to put together and put the kids in and zip them up? Just trying to be helpful...be blessed. Enjoyed your video and yes I grew up in snow belts in Jersey, Michigan, and Ohio...lol. Will your family be able to buy a camp stove that runs on butane, with extra butane cans? Oh, be sure to get some dollar store candles to keep up high from the kiddies! Does your family have sleeping bags that are 20 to zero farienheit? This could happen again, anywhere at anytime. You seem like this will be the last time you will endure this! Take care.

That is not snow that’s heavy sleet. You can hear it hitting the ground. I live in ne Ohio where we are used to snow. When it sleets snow like that it always turns into ice and we don’t drive either. At least not until the salt trucks some out. Normally the salt trucks try to stay ahead of the storms here. Next time, if there is one, turn off your main water line and open all your water lines. Turn the water on to empty out the lines. Your pipes won’t burst. Hope you are all ok.

Get a solar battery charger for your cell phones. Also hot water bottles are the best to snuggle up with in the winters. Also a 120V inverter. You can plug it into your car's cigarette lighter and then plug up electric blankets to warm up with while in the car. Hopefully this is a once in a lifetime thing for y'all, but thats just some advice from an Ohio prepper lol.

I'm from Chicago, I can remember being cold in our house a couple of winters. Not that we didn't have power; but the house had a few breaches, windows, doors. I can recall mom put up curtains over the door (which was frozen on the inside), windows always had frost on the inside. We used to write in the frost, mom didn't want us to, afraid we'd brake the glass, we never did. We also had gas; so, while she cooked, mom would turn the oven on for short burst and turn it off. We had heat, and power...i don't think I can ever recall a winter that we did not have power or heat, summers yes, I can recall several of them without power.
