I agree but that was the rollout for all of their albums. I think Teyana needs to leave GOOD music because they don’t know what to do with an R&B singer. They never ever know how to market her or her music.
Her expressing her discontent with the album isn’t her trashing it or anything of the sort. If she had an initial vision for it and then what was delivered didn’t align with what she had wanted then of course, as an artist, it’s going to bother her. Who would go to a painter and change their brush’s stroke? She’s not the first artist to show discontent with how her work is handled. Just because ppl enjoy the project the way it came out doesn’t mean she as the creator must like it the same way. Saying she should just suck it up is a bit of a slap in the face to her artistry.

I honestly think that Teyana's label and the people working on her album don't really respect her. When i heard her talking about her song "Never Would Have Made It" and how they didn't include her verse about her daughter and also in a general sense of her album not being what she intended for it to be .. That screams disrespect for the artist. Additionally, I don't think it was the best thing to have an overall theme for the album in all the songs. A variety of dance, slow and mid range songs would've suited her album sales and reception better.

I don’t really fw R&B but her album was dope asf. She rolled with the 7 rollout and hit the ground running. Dropped another ep later this year or full length next year.

Here's the thing......Teyana been at it for a while now. Even if she puts out the best work she has ever done, people will give her praise but will never fully appreciate her talent. I can't put my finger on it ,but she doesn't have something people look for when it comes to a star. In Teyana's head she should be the next thing smoking. What she is lacking is that next "Umbrella" , "Single Ladies" or "Bo'ood Up". In order for her to get to the next level in the Music game she will need a hit like that. People really aren't sure how to take her and her music. Is she a singer, dancer, rapper??? what does she exactly do? So I see her saying she was disappointed by her album because she's trying to downplay the success she thinks it was supposed to be.
