“We never even hired Pyro, they just wandered onto the battlefield one day and started burning the other team alive. We can’t get them to go away. Please send help.”
“He just... came up to us, he stayed in our base... when we tried to force him out... he just... wow.... He’s just wandering here, is he looking at me? Oh boy... what’s he doing? Pyro- PYRO NO-“ (Blog closed -engineer)
@@rotta4667 Pronouns used by other people other than oneself aren't an indicative of gender. Though Pyro may be a "he", while their gender is unknown, You can refer to them as "it" or "them".
According to Halloween cosmetics, Pyro is either a lizard, ghost, robot, slime monster, skeleton, margarita, living pieces of fruit, or just doesn't exist.
Theory on the pyrovision I've always had since I've had to work in respirators and masks before is that he see that stuff because of oxygen deprivation or contaminated filters. Like if you are in suit or on air tank too long you start to get kind of delirious and some people start to see things that arent there.
I mean i can see it happen in the tf2 universe I would think that to raise an insane madman to kill you don't have to bioengineer it just give it goggles that obsecure his vision making him think he is doing good instead of killing them
I was actually quite the pyromaniac as a child. I loved setting things on fire. So did my brother, actually. I feel like there is a very pure and childlike element of being fascinated by fire.
Quick correction. At one point in A Cold Day in Hell (in the main comic series), Pyro is actually shown to have knowledge that they are holding an axe, and that it does not good things to bears. So they know what they're doing, but willfully ignore it, and probably often forget about it entirely. Also, from a death screenshot of Pyro, where your various body parts are labeled as "Your arm!" or "Your heart!" there is one part that is labeled as "Your womb!" However, that could just be a baboon uterus Medic put in there, like he did with the classic team. So still ambiguous sex.
@@pyrofromtf2 Absolutely based wrathful pyromaniac fighting for his life from his sheer rage at a PSA Cartoon Bear, now I want to see this with "big bear" being pit against pyro as opposed to the metal heavy nicked "little bear", can pyro outsmart bullet to save fire?
Imagine: the year is 20XX, The final major tf2 update is being released. A 5 minute cinematic drops, and the comments are disabled. It's just pyro staring at the camera, breathing, until the very end, when he slowly and dramatically takes off his mask, revealing... Gaben himself. "After X years, hopefully it was worth the wait"... Fans rejoice at a famous mystery being solved, and tf2 is never updated again.
Today's episode of the life of Pyro: Mom said I had to do something that required covering people in sparkly rainbows. Then I had to give all of them lollipops. Today was a good day.
I always just like to think it’s a person in a suit being a child... I don’t care about the face or the gender, I just love the personality, especially the way he’s talked at like a child, it both hilarious and heart warming
That would probably just confirm Pyro is a man and Medic had nothing to be suprised of and proceeded as usual, so yeagh , but I think they could still make a lot of story of his psychological stuff or ..
He might have lost his medical licence, but I suppose the doctor-patient confidentiality could be the one thing he'd keep. No one would like to know about Spy's STD's or Engineer's prostate problems.
Mr. e if anything the whole story ark is really interesting, comics wise. Thought the last comic came out in 2017...... so I’m stuck waiting for the finale (if valve ever publishes it)
I'm very sure that Mrs Pauling or at least the Administrator knows the Pyro's identity. They don't seem like the type to not keep tabs on their employees
@@BananaDispenser How would medic know its gender? And Engie isn't in a "father son relationship" he's a texan. The whole father son thing is just expressions and sayings.
@@KalleBerendijk The medic acces the heart by partially destroying the ribcage, and reaching under the remaining ribcage. The entire rib cage is not destroyed in meet the medic.
Here's my small theory on pyro: Pyro, wether female or male, was involved in a government experiment. The experiment would be the mask in which he/she wears. The mask, would hijack the brains visual percepors, and project a much less threatening image, when in a threatening situation. The theory being, that this would make it easier to deal with the consequences of combat. However, during the experiment, something goes wrong. And the mask gets stuck to his/her face, leading to eventual insanity. Knowing what they see isn't what's actually happening, but being able to do nothing about it, would drive them insane. Never knowing what's real and what isn't. Thus, a short time later, (likely a week later) they would escape the facility, in a fluster and rage, and go on about life. Lost, confused, and certifiably insane. Until one day, a "kind" person, would come along, and offer them a job, something interesting to do. And that's pyro. Wether male or female. :D
5:29 Soldier: "Ha! You fight like a girl!" Me: An oldie, but a goodie. Demo: "Go home, lassie! Men are fightin' here!" Engie: "Sorry, ma'am." Me: That last one was polite and rude. Sniper: *starts writing a diss track* Me: Not only does he drink piss. But he spits it back out in the form of poor sportsmanship.
Seeing as Pyro made up a scenario in which attacking a cute (but in reality a life-threatening) bear would be justified, I believe he does have a better idea about what the world looks like than we think, and she somewhat knows Pyroland is made up. It seems that her mind is just trying to make all the violence feel fun and non-scary, shielding them from any trauma, maybe after living through some nasty stuff. And since TF2 universe is kinda non-angsty, this would probably stay untouched, just as whatever Medic did during the WWII.
Pyro is just a living flame retardant suit and gas mask with nothing inside of it. Revised theory: Pyro is just a living, *organic* flame retardant suit and gas mask, which means that the suit and mask are its skin. This could also explain the organs inside of Pyro.
Pyro in the meet the pyro video makes pyro seem like a cold blooded murderer but in the comics pyro acts and looks like a child i mean just look at it! Sooo cuute! Also in the expiration date pyro chases the little bread monster like it's a dog.
A Furry Fox universe of Russian shiz Mother Russia no, if you put the googles on the “sane” Mercs seem insane like the pyro. So whatever is happening with the pyro. It’s the goggles
Idea: Many old gas mask filters contained asbestos, which is known to cause cancer. Pyro wears that mask constantly, and so it is possible he has inhaled asbestos from the gas mask filter and got lung cancer, and the cancer spread to his brain, where the tumours have led to severe hallucinations.
Man the Pyro is just so loveable in the lore, but in the game... Not many people like him. Also I find it funny that the 2 most hated classes are voiced by the same guy.
Honestly, if Pyro's a girl, I could see them being like.. a rather masculine Scottish or Russian woman with frizzy/curly hair, probably sounds lower-pitched than an average woman.
I have the headcanon that whatever they are, Pyro isnt exactly human. I like the radiation idea, hence the gas mask. A demon is also plausable. Also fun fact: Pyros flamethrower is just a leafblower attached to a propane tank which is why he can also airdry people in game :0
My theory is that he is some guy who got disfigured as a child, probably because of accidents with fire and yeah he got ptsd and his parents got him the mask to help him overcome his fear of fire, which he now loves.
Gaben: You can ask me any question I'll answer all of them Me: Where is HL3 Gaben: No anything but that. Me: What is under Pyro's mask? Gaben: Not that too.
@@trollsing And it has become one of the greatest shows ever, very close to finishing off it's fourth season, and then will proceed to start it's spinoff show, TPOT.
I always assumed Pyro is fully aware of what's going on since most of his flamethrowers are home made, also I like to think the Pyrovision goggles are something pyro made himself to make his job easier
9:43 I love how Pyro looks so sad in the submarine. I have always envisioned Pyro as a man due to the weapons they make, in that they are not just homemade but also comical in proportions. It just seems like something a man would be more likely to due. (Also, I am well aware of Pyrovision. However, I took a look at his voice lines and found that they all suggest Pyro can see outside the goggles, which I know is not true, but that's why I put this here. To show that I am aware of the vision thingy)
2:00 "Where the other seem to be mercenaries that know and enjoy killing people, Pyro kind of don't know what they are doing" Just because normally Pyro doesn't know that they're killing doesn't mean that they're completely harmless though. In one of the Mann Co No More Comics, where they try to recruit Heavy back into the team. Pyro delusions a grizzly bear attacking them as Smokey The Bear telling them that fire is bad and shouldn't be played with, they took that advice poorly and decided that smokey needed to die by pulling out a fire axe (mind you this is in their imagination land) and massacred the bear
@@BottleOBile agreed, but this theory maybe true since the Administrator is very evil same with the TFC Pyro (Beatrice) like the TFC was drilling holes into the Soldier's teeth and the Administrator wanted immortality and power and I feel like Beatrice forced he son to be the same as his grandmother and mother, but she knows her son wouldn't do it so she made him wear the goggles so he could kill many people and torturing them. But I still feel that Piemations maybe true as well.
My theory is that the Pyro is of Asian descent, due to Pyro seeing the world in a stereotypical cutesy pastel world, similar to the early 60's Kawaii movement in Japan. The Pyro has dozens of cosmetics that are directly connected to Japanese or Chinese culture, such as a cat-eared hood, neon lights over their gasmask. They also have cosmetics made specifically as references to popular characters from Asian companies, like Ryu from Street Fighter or the Black/Red Mages from Final Fantasy.
Pyro is spy from the past. He is a little kid in a mech suit, living in his own imaginary world. During his many years of battling, he gained a deep understanding of the fight. When he grew up and got bored of burning people, he decided to leave fire for good. Since he no longer needed the full mask, he replaced it with an open one, and took just a basic gun and knife as weapons. However, thanks to his experience, he now knew how other classes behave and decided to have some fun with it. He grabbed a mask (since he loved those), and did a funny impression of the a different class. To his surprise, the others were complete morons and actually thought it was the real thing. He decided to use this, as well as a magic invisibility watch he found in a dead fish, and returned to fight. And thus, the pyro became the spy.
In "Death of a Salesbot", the Engineer goes back in time with the Pyro (now little more than a head in a floating jar) from far in the future, however the time travel is unrefined enough to where it can only be used for an incredibly short amount of time. If this is the case, this means that at the time of Pyro's childhood, time travel wasn't even developed, and certainly not well refined enough to last for all of the gravel wars, the events of Mann vs. Machine, _and_ long enough for the other mercs to become visibly old. Additionally, in Meet the Pyro, Spy says that he cannot comprehend the thoughts of Pyro. If he were the grown up version of Pyro, there is no reason to be saying this. And even if Spy was Pyro, he would have no reason to treat him with the same disdain he shows toward the other mercs. There is no situation where one could even remotely think they were the same, and to even suggest such a thing is positively ludicrous.
@@callmetiny7150 He has made many, many subjective and heavily illogical theories in mannnny fanbases. No point in defending him. The internet will get pissed of you spell something wroung
@@DGARedRaven Essentially, he normally makes theories with little to no in canon support, and also is often wrong about the details he does try to use for his theories, debunking half his theories by just basing them on things without properly fact checking them. So his reputation sunk with almost every fanbase he gets involved with, leading to his current reputation as a lolcow and "theorist" on par with the history channel's I'm not saying its aliens but it was aliens guy. (Holds up both hands with a stoner look). Hope that gives you a better idea. (Tl;dr: he crossed too many fandom and lost his credibility for the internet as a whole)
Pyro is kind of in the same situation as Zer0 from Borderlands 2 where they are afraid to ruin the character if they add too much lore. They both make for a great projection surface.
Many people don’t seem to understand the idea of giving a character depth by giving them no depth at all. Less is more, etc. Pyro from TF2, Zer0 from Borderlands, the Mercenary from Risk of Rain; having an enigmatic character with an obscure backstory/identity is in and of itself a character backstory/identity.
Theory: Pyro was an arsonist that suffered from severe trauma, and to cope with it, was given the pyrovision mask. The illusions backfired in that Pyro became much more deranged from an outside perspective, while viewing the world as very happy and colorful.
@@SquimJim I took that with my phone lol, didn't expect it to come out as good as it did, nor did I expect it to gain any traction, or be used in a YT video. Thanks though. Although I'm sure I could get more good quality photos.
