All the voices from TF2 where just the best thing in any game ever. I love it alone for the fact that it has the most unique and likeable characters. Even tho I don't like class battle games but TF2 is something else.
Reminds me a bit of Alan Rickman (may he rest in peace) in the role of Severus Snape. Snape being so strict and all, while actually out of character Rick was said to be extremely likeable and kind and all the people, including the child actors loved him. He was apparently really good with kids and helped the child actors when they struggled with script and so on. Truly an amazing actor who left us too soon.
I like how voice actors became more visible individuals, first TF2's, and then ULTRAKILL gets to have Gabriel's actual voice actor handle the voice for memes of all things
I met Ellen while dressed as Mrs Pauling and she asked me if we could get a picture and told me "I was the skinny old bitch," and the picture is of me dying of laughter while she's doing a perfect side eye. It was a moment that I will never forget
Can’t help but feel Valve did the TF2 gang dirty. They’re all so passionate and love the community so much. TF2 deserves a major update and it’s long overdue. Also RIP Rick May he would’ve loved this.
They are getting an update sized update later this year. It was announced in February. And the majority of the voice actors were at Pax East this year.
@AnonymousX idk, I feel like forcing people to stick strictly to already made scripts and concepts is how movies and games feel bland and lacking a certain charm. For example, in my opinion, one of the biggest reasons for the star wars prequels doing so poorly is because of George Lucas forcing everyone to do it his way and not allowing any kind of improv, or different ways to act out a scene.
@masonbruner1239 The problem with Valve currently, or at least not so long ago, is that writers and developers not only have freedom on a specific project, but can work on whatever they want, so bigger projects stop once it turns hard
@@anonymousx6651 Keep in mind that since Half-Life 2, Valve makes their money from Steam, not games. As such every game they make is an intense passion project from every employee involved. I think most people would agree they would rather just see TF2 become "open source" if you will, with community developers making content that could be officially endorsed, than to have developers who aren't passionate about the project and do a lackluster job.
I love her, I remember when my friends and I saw her at MAGFest, she was so happy to see we had an administrator cosplayer that her eyes watered up. When I went to PAX this year she remembered my friends and me too!! She is such a sweetheart.

i'll never forget meeting ellen, she was such a wonder to talk to, i briefly talked her ear off about portal at PAX west, waited over half an hour before the meet just to be upfrount, was not expecting to talk to her face to face! i balled my eyes out as she sang still alive with the crowd, truley one of the dearest women
I had the pleasure of meeting Ellen earlier this year and she was the absolute sweetest lady. I was cosplaying Miss Pauling and one of my friends was the Administrator. We actually had a full group TF2 cosplay and she and her husband took pictures with us. But my favorite moment was her letting me know that she was the Skinny Old B!tch, then we pointed out our Administrator and she was ecstatic to be remembered.
Ellen is so iconic, whether it be GLaDOS’s dry wit, the announcer’s evil nature or the dread of hearing “ongoing sector sweep, biotics, confirmed.” In the quiet white forest
Last I heard Makani was just a freelancer whose fanart of the Admin was bought by Valve and hired as a freelancer to draw the TF2 comics. Good to know she’s an official employee still there.
I’ll be honest, I got into TF2 late. I didn’t know she was the announcer, which is a shame because I love Ellen (mainly because of GLaDOS, the turrets, and such)
I just want to say thank you to all of the voice actors because during the bot problem I didn’t play at all, but the videos of actors having fun and acting as their characters made me keep loving tf2, thank you for caring

Kinda like how Peter Cullen really gave life and soul to Optimus Prime and kinda paved the way for him as we know him now! Love voice actors so much! Very interesting stuff! 😁👍🏻

I absolutely love how valve treats it's fanbase. Whenever they see someone in the community doing something impressive with their games, they usually hire them or at the very least celebrate it.
It's always sweet when you see famous folks get excited and want to meet the people they're fans of themselves. Reminds you that we're all human, nobody is some mystical figure.
I met this wonderful lady at a con in Sweden many years ago, I was just a random dude and a cosplayer but we had a wonderful conversation until she had to go cuz of employees escorting her away. Such a great soul.
2007 seems like it was just yesterday. Thank you Valve and all the cast of TF2 for the phenomenal memories and lifelong friends I've made over this incredible 16 year journey
