Spy is just the worst for spy mains because it scrapes away their mental health and for literally everyone because a good spy main can always turn the tides like a Phlog Pyro (not an exaggeration. A dead ringer spy recently curbed stomped our team and the sad thing is he's not even a cheater. He's a well known veteran on asian server and I've encountered him multiple times since i started playing TF2 in 2016.)
@@Agent-cv6kh Oh, well you're unbelievably immature for someone 17, no one even said Fatmagic did well and you're here wanting to one-up someone that have not played spy a lot
@@jerry3306 I don't think so, I think the timestamp was added after the comment was posted. The reason why I think so is that "(edited)" next to the "2 days ago"
This is a very important video in the wide wizard's myth. At 4:45, fatmagic runs across a demo who may very well be VenusianRapper, the guy who kicked off the whole "fatmagic is a closet cheater" thing.
From all of my experience with spy there are mainly 2 possible things that can happen. 1.) Come on game i deserved that. I did the work for nothing. 2.) Game i didn't deserve that. I did nothing and was rewarded with everything.
Watching the first half of this video, especially with his comment at 4:18, I am reminded if a comment someone made on another video. They said (basically) "Fatmagic made a dark pact with some entity to have the power of a Spy, but only if he never plays Spy. He can play Gun Spy, but if he ever tries to go for backstabs, he loses his power." It's so true.
All this video has done is remind me why I stopped playing spy. The sheer amount of blatant, non-register backstabs throughout this video gave me second-hand rage and disappointment.
There's been times when a single Spy with dead ringer and kunai pub stopped my entire team and trapped us in the spawn, I hated the virtual inmortality the combo gave him, but after playing with that combo I realised the ammount of skill needed to pull that off, or either he was hacking :/
This is an accurate display of how it feels to play spy(etleast for 90% of the tf2 playerbase). So accurte that I forgot I was watching a video and thought I was playing as the spy myself. Very entertaining video!👍
20:20 have no clue if it was intentional, but that death-to-gameplay transition was so slick I had to rewatch it a few times to make sure I saw it right.
To blend in you have to act like you're on the other team. Don't look at your targets, look at your own team to appear as one of the enemy. Walk backwards to get in position. Move like you're trying to get into position to shoot to or are going to a heath pack. No bigger giveaway for a spy than some allied dude who just keeps looking at the wrong team.
@@AbcDefg-tq3ju It is truly agonizing, especially since you usually can't tell if you were acting suspicious, they randomly checked you, were seen by players who were spectating or just spawned, were called out through voice chat, or even if your disguise was just bugged, which everyone on the other team can see, but you can't. The lack of feedback is extraordinarily frustrating, but all the same the payoff is excellent when you stab a full uber medic when he's healing you, or when you get your enemies to thank you with voice commands about 2 seconds before you stab them.
This video just reminds me that if I had spent my 3k hours on Spy and put them on Sniper, Scout or Soldier I'd probably be a god instead of a guy that wallows in salt 24/7 That said I was close to having a conniption fit anytime he wasn't disguised
Makes me want to ask, why so so many spies (good and bad) disguise as scout constantly? Like even when they’re found out they’ll still go as scout. Even fatmagic disguises as scout whenever he remembers to disguise. Why hide as a class that’s faster than you can actually go?
i feel kind of the same i only have 150 hours as scout but i do consistently well as him in pubs while i generally eat shit as spy with 900 hours when im not using the stock or gunspy loadout
@@SeaHay Disguising as Scout makes you visibly shorter due to his posture, which can confuse snipers going for headshots and help with hiding. It's also 1 of the 3 disguises that won't slow you down (others being Medic and Spy). Finally, Scouts tend to zip around the entire map so people may not be as suspicious if they catch a glimpse of him in a weird spot.
@@SeaHay The purpose of disguising is rarely to fool an enemy into believing that you really are your disguise target. If it is, then the disguise should only last for a few seconds while you're moving to cover or going for a stab. No disguise will be convincing for more than a few seconds unless you're playing against new players. If you try to make it last longer, then you will get spychecked and die instantly. The true purpose of disguising is to make it hard to discern your true hitbox, the weapon that you have out and to hide from sentries. Scout is small and his posture is very different from the Spy's posture. "Why hide as a class that’s faster than you can actually go?" Why would you want to move more slowly than Spy's normal speed? Your exact choice of disguise will rarely ever matter, so why not choose the one which lets you keep your speed and makes it harder for Snipers to instantly kill you?
Fatmagic on his heavy video: Guys it's so easy, just turn around Also fatmagic as a spy: why are they turning around? Why- * dies * I'm laughing so hard lol
that pyro at 15:37 lmao First he has a spasm and is randomly turning his mouse while holding M1 down and then calls Fatmagic a cheater in chat when that gets him backstabbed xD
i got a theory that for the first few hours you play spy in one day, the hitreg makes no sense and it will just screw you over. the game makes you think that you suck at spy just so you switch classes but if you insist, the hitreg fixes itself
I have over 2.5k hours in tf2 and most of my time spent playing spy and the very start of the video summed up what playing spy is. The amount of times you die simply because bad luck is staggering and honestly hilarious half the time.
when you go for the backstab when they are facing you , turn the opposite corner to where they are facing and look at their side or back. then try and wait for the backstab animation to strike. funny video i enjoyed it
Lmao completely laughing my ass off as a trickstab headshot kunai spy :D I've studied the holy trickstab and was learning so much.. watching you suffering from no knowladge made me remind of the old times and was hella funny!
I actually looked this up a while back and those clouds of gnats are actually a mating thing. Due to their short lifespan, swarming makes mating much easier.
Happy end of 2020 Fatmagic, i hope you look back to 2020 with fondness despite the overall gloomy aura and stuff... Power to you into 2021!!! Much appreciated my man for the endless high qualaty, premium TF2 content as always :)
Maybe the reason why your Scout and Spy disguise doesn't work is because people will always spycheck those classes, Heavy is the last class people will suspect
It won't matter since good players can catch any disguised class, disguising as scout, as someone said it in one of the replies, is for a smaller hit box that will make snipers have a hard time instantly killing you with a headshot.
