TF2 - Red Tape actually is a GREAT Trolling Weapon (Here is why!)

​​​@@thedischarger12technically it really isnt an exploit, you see: the entire schtick of the red tape recorder is to reverse the building's health but slower then the sapper, with a fancy Rewind the building construction animation, but when the building gets carried and RECONSTRUCTED that resets its health, theoretically this could work with any sapper, festive, ap sap, snack attack, whichever. And even if it was an exploit it would not only be hard for them to notice but also very tricky to repair, because then it would have to change the construction health and seeing as tf2 has around 800k players give or take it would be gamebreaking to not only engineer mains who have some tricks with these but also just to anyone coming across the sentry because it would be harder to destroy, and the last thing we need is buffing up engineer

​@@OutstandOutcast There are many things wrong with that statement. I am going to have to pick this apart. The red tape recorder does not mess with a building's health. The red tape recorder has a 100% damage penalty so it is not able to interact with a building's health in any way except through use of a glitch. What the red tape recorder does is reverse the upgrade and building progress on the building. It un-builds the building. And with buildings, redeploying one does not reset its health. Buildings redeploy with as much health as they originally had when picked up. However, they are deployed with zero build progress and have to go through the necessary animations to get back up to whatever level they were when picked up. Since buildings redeploy with zero build progress, appling the sapper thay reverses build progress will very instantly destroy a building.

Spy is the class who specializes in psychological warfare after all, so it's not actually too out of character.

Remember that if you fail a backstab,the engineer will try to set his building either way so you can have this as a backup plan

This is theoretically safer than backstabbing the engie since sapping doesn't drop your disguise.

finally they understood the power of the rtr. it can do more things that just that: it will empty dispensers ammo when you zap it lets say engi has a sentry lvl 2 and he need 30 more metal to upgrade it to lvl 3, when you zap it engi will need 200 metal to upgrade the sentry teleporters does not have upgrade or downgrade animation so in most situations when you zap a tele it will be lvl one.and many more things I dont wanna hear anyone saying bUt İt TaKES mORe tİmE tO DesTroY a sEnTrY ZAPPER IS NOT THE MAİN SOURCE OF DESTROYİNG BUİLDİNGS İT JUST HELPS YOUR TEAM DESTROY İT AND RTR DOWNGRADE TAKES AWAY MORE HEALT THAN YOU THİNK IF YOU ARE A SPY MAIN KNOWS WHEN TO ATTACK HALF OF THE TIME RTR DOES BETTER

Nope, mini sentry's don't need to be carried as they are so cheap. So we can still win :)

@@ultgamercw6759RTR is a direct upgrade over stock sapper when it comes to mini sentries, because it takes so long to sap but you can't manually destroy buildings that are being sapped, so you're screwed either way

It mostly affects engineer when being overpushing or when setting up its more of a way to punish the engineer for being too offensive Edit: also if you see a spy trying this you should shotgun them instead of worrying about the building

If the red tape recorder was made to sabotage buildings and distract engies, it should take twice as much wrench swings with the stock wrench.

I recall it also deleting all the metal in a dispenser immediately when sapped. But honestly, even the slower destruction speed is actually useful, since you can't self destruct buildings when they're being sapped, sapping tele entrances or sentries that engineer is far away from will be a greater headache for him with red tape recorder.

@@Boltscrapit needs to successfully de-level it, so basically takes a whole 2 seconds before all the metal gets eaten

The only way Engi has some backup plan is if he's got the Frontier Justice and some kills on that one Sentry. Then he can avenge on the Spy with his now active crits. But that seems to be literally IT xD

The counterplay, While difficult, Is to whip around and place it behind you. Of course, Spy's counterplay is to pull out his knife and get the backstab at that moment... Which can be countered by the engineer, This is truly a great development that simply adds a new layer to engi v spy.

​@@milokiss8276the issue is, the spy is disguised. You don't know if they're just an obvious spy that ran out of cloak or a spy intent on trolling you, and on top of that the spy can play mindgames with switching between knife and zapper to insta kill the engie or make them suffer

In These Situations Its Easier To Just Back Stab The Engies. This Is Only Useful If You Want To Troll People.

@mrhobomice its good if you are infront of them, they have to place their building down and you sap it immediately

Or if you screw your backstab even, you can immediately have a secondary backup plan

Clearly you’ve never seen a bonk scout in action. The sheer amount of mischief you can achieve by running intwo people’s faces, making them explode or blocking all their bullets or jamming a doorway shut with your spindly body is hilarious, and if you coordinate with your team you can give your spy the freest backstab of their life, delay an uber, stop an engi from placing a building, also intentional griefing with letting an opposing medic get saws off you or just doing an atomizer taunt. Also if you condition your enemies so they just ignore the scout, congrats you no longer gotta deal with the slowdown, have free access two the enemies backlines (that you can instantly leave by drinking another bonk), and can pull off some big brained stuff by intentionally wasting a few seconds of bonk so you become actionable much earlier than they expect

It can also be used against frontier justice engies because of how painfully slow it takes to kill a sentry

Regular sapper no this is only a RTR feature since the regular sapper only saps the sentry and when you deploy a sentry it has HP more than enough for the engi to remove the supper. RTR however since the engi just placed the building down the RTR just destroys buildings instantly because of the fact its a newly placed building.

@@Delfy It's true that it's more trolling, I wrote it out of habit because I like watching you and finding mistakes that I hadn't even thought of making. 🙃 And continuing I would be more confused about "what just happen to my sentry" instead geting furious by spy who done that and just laugh themselfs.😆

A lot of pro players know about this but doesn't use it because it is very easy to stab or shoot engineer who carry building and when he died you can zap all his building after so there is not really a point in doing this outside of trolling engineer.

It still builds normally, but takes damage at the same rate it gains health.

The main difference between the normal sapper and the RTR is that the sapper "drains" a building's HP while the RTR reverses construction. So while the sapper drains a building that's currently gaining HP at a faster rate than it is losing it, the RTR directly interrupts the building's construction and health gain and drains the tiny amount of HP it had.

Пфф, все привыкли умирать перенося постройки, респавнишься и начинаешь заново (тоже больно и печально, но такова жизнь слесаря). А вот во втором ты вроде делаешь то, что должен, бросить постройку и пытаться убить врага, и внезапно остаёшься без постройки, шпик съебался, еще не дай бог ты без металла и вынужден идти назад. Если несколько раз так произойдёт, можно и в дурку загреметь (вон, в конце ролика бедолага шизу поймал и телепортирующихся шпионов увидал)...

But, Backstab is loud tho. Quite, Risky.

@@TN_Kuhorizki with well chosen moment, you will only risk being shot at as you cloak right after the stab (as is, you'll almost certainly will survive if you don't get greedy for another stab). And by stabbing you break the same building AND kill engie. If the goal is to optimize efficiency, by doing the stab you just won, and faster. But, as I said it has less trolling depth than engie being forced to watch his freshly moved building turn into toolbox.
