I think the enchantment: eternaween item is worth putting on the list. When you used it, it would allow players to see Halloween cosmetics any time of the year for 2 hours in a server
I'd actually still count the "Rudolph the red-nosed Caribou" here because only 2 people had it. But one of them vanished, and now only 1 person has it. *(Well, except for if someone else managed to craft it.)*
The unused yeti park hats such as the mannanas cap, the never forget hat(poopy joe memorial hat), and I think the yeti park hard hat are all pretty obscure I think
They shouldn't even be as exclusive as they are if only valve kept on allowing more item drops for them to occur that way the economy isn't so goddam inflated, its such a goddam mess
I have paused on 0:07 before watching the video to say that that is a obscure item. I'll keep you updated. 0:45 alr alr chemistry sets 1:33 he says Halloween spells 2:47 scream fortess locked crate, my bad it is at 2:36 2:45 THAT IS A LOT OF ITEMS 3:30 lore 3:33 Mann Co. Painting set is noice 5:38 STRANGE BACON GREESE AND THEN HE ALSO SAYS OPENING YAR All of my 0:00 have been deleted thanks youtube im not making anymore of these
Funny how this game is seemingly still alive. I played in the good days and remember the Halloween spells you were able to put on things. Got a Strange Original with Pumpkin Bomb and Exorzism from that time. I wonder how much this is actually worth nowadays.
@realslideFN It's broken in the sense that the editor is really finicky. Sometimes you get it in the alloted time period, sometimes you have to spend several hours in the editor. It's incredibly inconsistent, but not necessarily broken.
The unusualifiers have an inspect function to see what unusual effects you can get. I got lucky when I didn’t know this for my directors vision and got the money effect. I named it “The Money Shot!”
I've encountered the Unusual Cap in the wild exactly once, and that was when I came across the creator of the Audiophile effect. I even have a screenshot of it.
The unusual cap isnt as "rare" as you might think, especially with the 3 times a year cosmetic drops with new unusuals. Its just that, theyre not really the best looking hats, so the creators dont really use them
It's a bit more broad, but I might put on there the numbered craft hats, as in the hats that we're crafted 1 - 100 and show the craft number in the name. Their pretty cool and a neat collector's item.
I got the stamp hat once years ago by complete accident, and I'm still in awe about it. I was buying keys to do unboxing because I'm awful with money, and I decided to buy a bunch of map stamps on a whim (again, because I'm awful with money). When I saw the notification pop up I didn't think anything by it, but when I noticed the hat my jaw dropped. It was so fun seeing everyone stare at me when I'd join games wearing it, it was the most attention I'd ever gotten and it was a lot of fun. I still kinda regret not naming the hat something funny. Kinda want to try to get the rest one day tbh.
It's surreal to hear these items be called "old" when I was in fact playing at the time these items dropped and were usable. I was a very young child however, so I had no idea what any of these did nor cared, and have definitely deleted some of these rare items from my inventory like the locked crates to make room for a weapon. It was only in 2014 when I started to trade and stuff.
I still remember getting a Salvaged Crate when I was F2P and deleting it because I thought I was never gonna be able to open it and I needed the inventory space. I still regret it to this day.
I believe items you get from the drop system are untradable if you are f2p (without premium) So.. don't regret it too much, you probably wouldn't be able to sell it anyways....
Its a shame they got discontinued, now you have "spell traders" hoarding spelled items and selling them for a absurd amount which is way more than theyre worth
Know I'm a little late, but the "tf_gatebot light" that was craftable after Mannhattan and Rottenberg were added to the game, the three Japan disaster relief hats, and the various pile of crates items are all really obscure I think.
Fun fact you can say i'm lying but i got both the Dueler hat which was my first of the 3 hats , and recently a few days ago i also got Gifting man from gifting land and funny story that was not my intention to get those hats i earned them by pure accident dueler i just wanted to win duels to get nicer dueling badge eventually and gifts bc i wanted to upgrade that christmas badge with pumping heart .
Half of these items I had at one point but due to how young I was I either traded it, deleted it, or just used it. I remember having a salvage crate, sold it.
I actually have two Halloween spells has I've been playing the PC version since 2012 which are Spectral Spectrum on my Ghostly Gibus and Exorcism on my Spy-cicle. And honestly I wouldn't trade these two items for the world as they mean so much to me, and I did have the directors cut getting that the legitimate way way back when but stupidly getting rid of it trying to craft a hat and now I have no way of retrieving it and it was my only extra taunt…
@@TwoNumbahNiens the boiling point is a version of the heavy's Table Tantrum taunt that adds a sous-vide machine to the pot - was only distributed with the purchase of a ~$200 sous vide machine. on a similar "obscure promo" note, the grandmaster (?) hat was only distributed with the TF2 Official Chess Set
1:10 I have a Toss-Proof Towel strangeifier chem set, what you said here implies that it will instead apply a collectors effect? Did you mean all existing chem sets became collectors or that there was a slim window where the collectors dropped before all sets were discontinued? If anyone knows lmk🙂
when chem sets were first added, they only made strangifiers, but then christmas that year they changed it to only produced collectors quality items. so chem sets that dropped strangifiers were no longer able to be dropped. so what you have is pretty rare😊
The Oculus Rift 'TF2VRH' hat is pretty obscure. Only people who preordered the Oculus Rift development kit headset or backed the kickstarter could get it. I have only ever seen one person wearing it
The only thing I can think that you missed in this video is the Competitive Matchmaking Beta Pass item. This video made me regret getting rid of a lot of the old crates
Huh... What i found obscure about this video are not the items... I even own most of the (-the special valve cosmetics ie finders fee and such). What i did found obscure is how long ago these things were added... Most of them i remember like they were added in 2019 or something... Fk im old...
Try to record more than 5 minutes of gameplay next time, watching the same clip for half the video is not particularly enjoyable. Also it would be good if you went more in depth on certain items, adding more information & community prices for things, that’d be more interesting. Good effort but trying to give some constructive criticism
The green flame on my collectors backburner got removed for whatever reason. I hadnt played the game in years and came back just to see what i had. They i fire my backburner and see the flames are normal. Was so upset. I was there when spells were around and i put it on my back burner and my nostromo napalmer. It was decently common at the time. Still upset to this day
I actually had for a while The Philateler when one day i bought all the community stamps, and legit my reaction was: what the hell is this? Like i never seen this hat in my life and i had it for a whole day on me
