The class 315s days on the Great Eastern Mainline (their home since new!) are now unfortunately numbered, as brand new class 345s are in service, creating a total eyesore for the enthusiast.
The units are off for unfortunate scrapping at Kingsbury, Newport and Rotherham, with haulage to the yards by Rail Operations Group class 37s.
Since undergoing an overhaul at Derby, these units sound, look and most importantly run great, but it's a total shame to see these classic steeds departing after 38 years of service on the 'GEML'.
Here they are in their final few weeks of service on the Great Eastern Mainline, and to commemorate their departure, here's what we managed to capture for you all.
