AWESOME explaination. I'm looking at buying an Everlast Tig machine and this is the first time I've come across the 2T/4T settings and was trying to figure out what exactly that meant. Some of the stuff I've read didn't entirely make sense, but this video explained it very well and now it's something I would like to play with and maybe be able to change up for certain operations. Thanks.

Super clear explanations of what the T modes are and how the machine settings correlate iin. Can you do a follow-up that goes into situations in which you would want to use the modes and settings to most advantage?

Thanks for the well done explanation on 2t/4t.Just acquired an Alpha TIG-201XD. Learning curve is a bit steep. Did a bit or tig in high school (1967) . Haven’t had enough time under the hood to be very good yet but it’s improving thanks to your videos. Keep up the good work and I will keep lookin in.

4t seems very good for non auto darkening helmets basically your strait glass eye protecting can see this function very useful to find your work which is why I hate using strait glass, how ever with this function I don't really see a need for auto darkening of cores just bought a 180 helmet soooo little late!! :( I have years of stick welding so tig is the new adventure so thank you learning a lot

Nicely done! When should I use each type of trigger? What are the benefits and downside of each? Thanks again!!!
@hopefuldave
@hopefuldave 6 лет назад
Some behave differently on 4T, once on the finish amps a flick of the trigger will set them back into upslope, so you can (slowly) pulse the current or back off e.g. when the work's getting too hot - useful feature.

AHA! a revelation, and very nice to know thanks. When and if I ever upgrade this will help in the decision I make on the machine I buy, but not much use on my £40 home built scratch start rig I currently use as I get a handle on Tig welding : ) again many thanks

I've really enjoyed your videos...they're excellent! I do have a question for you however: I have a Miller Synchro-wave 200 which is a transformer type , whereas most of your settings and recommendations (Tungsten color for example) are for inverter type machines. Do you have any videos for those, possibly Series 1-2, and if so, how can I watch them?

Anyone one here use the vevor brand DC Tig with 2t 4t it only has one amp setting tho and a USB in place of where the next model has a dial to adjust makes me wonder if it's there a way to just wire a dial to it and it would do that idk buy it's a vevor 220 Tig dc and the next model is the same but has dual amps and pulse control

How do we actually use 2T and 4T to weld? i.e. during welding, what condition do we need to trigger the down slope and then what condition do we want to get back to the up slope?

Thanks for the vids and info. I am starting to get into welding soon and find your videos extremely informative. Does it come down to personal preference between 2t and 4t? I find that the 4t has extra steps to it.

something that's been on my mind: is it a good or bad idea to learn to use the trigger and associated modes vs the foot pedal? . (I'm leaning towards the trigger)
@TheFabricatorSeries
@TheFabricatorSeries 6 лет назад
momobadilak It's a very good idea to learn it. There are many situations where you'll need it.
@michaelangel7448

For someone who is starting out , is the foot pedal or the trigger on the torch better to use when starting out?
@TheFabricatorSeries
@TheFabricatorSeries 6 лет назад
Michael Angel Probably the trigger. It's more direct and some machines do not use 2T/4T with a pedal.
