Exactly… he’s so misunderstood. And just because Xie Lian is the main character, people stand by his side and hate on Mu Qing. He did the things he did for a reason, he saved both of them many times, helped orphan and poor kids and had to work as a servant. He worked so hard and indured the bullying from Fengzin and other people in the palace just to save his mother and let the kids have food on their plates. He later left, of course he left. He wanted to be with his mother. Who wouldn’t want to be with their mother when she’s about to die?? Especially when you’re immortal. Fengzin got a woman pregnant while they were all going through shit ffs, and no hate to him of course, but he could do that but mu Qing couldn’t try to be with his mother?? He literally walked in to see a dead body. He would have been grieving so badly and not able to do anything, let alone come back and be a servant of someone who is not in a good situation beside some other man that always picks on him and pisses him off. Later then, he saved both of them multiple times. He tried to keep Xie Lian out of trouble and tried to earn his trust, or just be there to help XL. But no, everything he did, was wrong, in both Hua cheng and Fengxins eyes. And even, sometimes, in Xie Lian’s. Which I hate. Ever since he was a kid he was blamed for everything. And he never lived that down. Had he been switched as the main character, everyone would feel bad for him. But no, he’s just the insecure, “obnoxious” background character just there for comedy and people’s target for hate.
