This is exactly it. Reverse is the No Coast grim reaper, and I personally believe he doesn't get his due respect because he stays on these mid to low card stages battling scrubs when he should be battling more higher caliber battlers. His first battle against Madflex is probably the best thing I've seen since the early KOTD/Grindtime days, and I don't even think that's sitting above 10K views. As much as I believe he's an exceptional rapper, I don't think the work ethic is there in many regards. I've seen quite a few battles he's been in where he forgets his lines, stumbles, or chokes... not to say that any rapper is impervious to the occasional choke or stumble, however I find he does it a little more often than rappers of his tenure. Not to mention he rarely gets personal about his opponents. Put simply, I believe he's cool where he's at. He does his thing and has essentially become a folk-town hero on the low card circuit, and that's what works for him. He is one of my favorite battlers though, and although there arguably isn't much range to him relative to what you'd expect from somebody that's been in it as long as he has, it's also his charm. It works to his benefit. Instead of trendsetting, or clout chasing, he instead mastered his style and executes it with precision. Edit: I also want to add that I believe he does better in smaller crowds, like Joe Cutter, Everybody Knows, etc.
Reserve never spits a wack verse. You can tell he puts more effort into his writting and prep. It's hard for many rappers to live up to that standard. I can't do it I'm just not healthy minded enough.
