Powerful speech. Few people are capable to give this kind of speech in South Africa. Indeed Thabo Mbeki is an intellect. The problem with us is that, we will only recognize his contributions when he is no longer alive. Shame on us.

There is no problem with us. Like someone once said,"To the right people you can't do anything wrong and to the wrong people you can't do anything right." I add,"I rest knowing I did the best I could."

Wow! When South Africa was the de facto political leader of the African continent! When a South African president was a president, felt like and was, a “president” of the entire continent. May God give South Africa and Africa at large this type of intellectual, genuine leadership. So inspiring and refreshing to listen to Presidents Mandela and Mbeki.

The speech ended as good as it started. Truly terrific and applaudable. He is the very best amongst his peers. The old man thrived on his brilliance. He couldn't have done without such immense talent.

I totally agree with you. The speech was moving though littered with exaggerated adjectives

Truly this is the son of the soil… This is a befitting speech especially to an elder you look up to, a world class icon and he nailed it. He had to dig deep to deliver such a masterpiece of a speech! There’s so much that is inside this man which SA could learn, in fact Africa. Rwandan president he is a good student ✊🏾

Back then, when we had leaders we looked up to💫. Recently we have had thugs masquerading as leaders and activists for social justice.

When we had mouth pieces of the WMC. Take nothing from Madiba but the true liberators were those in the streets daily. It would have been nice for Thabo to mention how the people believed so much in Madiba that they used him as a beacon of hope and not make it seem like he was hope itself

Abanye bebethandabuza ubudoda bakho abanye phofu from your own province nditsho amaXhosa akuni. Thina ke siyakwazi okokuba uyindoda yomXhosa kwaye wayiwela wonke imilambo yobudoda yilonto naxa uthetha bonke bemamela kwaye uthetha kuvokotheke. Bawubulala uKhongolose kuba kaloku besithi ibilithuba labo lokutya 1. Zuma 2. Malema 3. Vavi 4. Mantashe 5. Duarte 6. Magashule 7. Mahumapelo 8. Masana 9. Mkize 10. Dlamini- Zuma 11. Mokonyane And all those other small fishes, they must take responsibility of murdering the ANC by recalling you. Cde Thabo Mbeki the discipline cde of the ANC. He remain in the ANC when the ANC did not want him, he remained resolute. Today you are still in the ANC and the ANC is still in you. A true leader of the peoples of this continent. We know that you dealt a huge blow because you were a champion of Pan Africanism so you became a threat to the West so they had to deal with you hurshly. We need other Thabo Mbekis within our mist please can you rise and claim that space I'm calling on the young leaders of South Africa, stop being used by those corrupt politicians and individuals. Stop being used as ice boys and girls, take up your places as leaders and avoid being member's members. Stand up and lead us to the second revolution which is ECONOMIC FREEDOM now or in your life time.

Imagine what a brilliant novelist and storyteller he could have been. I would guess that would have been his dream if the system did not force him and many others to be political rebels on top of intellectual rebels.

Shame on us indeed. We stopped Dreaming and started dreaming, though we have been given more than sufficient inspiration by our true leaders.
