I watched the First day first show at PVR and from my point of view it is super awesome movie. 4.5/5 if I rate Story tells all the struggle, hardwork, goodside and badside of the character very well. Filmography is excellent. You will feel the character of Bala Saheb Thackeray when u watch it. So awesome. A Must Watch film.

Balasaheb Thakre was a fearless leader who actually had such an impact on people that if government of India was taking something seriously, it was Balasaheb Thakre.

The translation is wrong at some important instances!

This is one movie that I would be seeing in theatre. Just to watch how the director dealt with the storyline. If the director remains fact based, it will be an interesting watch, to see how he kept the storyline neutral enough for masses of all kinds to enjoy it, despite the lead being someone who had very concrete ideas and could stand up and own it. Right or wrong, he never wavered from his ideology. So, tough choice and tough job for the story makers. If this movie is well made, the actors got the easiest job in my opinion. Lets wait and watch. Achara, what an observation about Saffron surrounded by greenery. No idea yet if it was truly symbolic or just a shot which caught something extremely symbolic. Again, let us wait and see. Jaby, researching before maybe the surest way for you to become biased one way or other. It will be better to research after. And do another video on what you, as an outsider get ftom movie and from media reports. Fair warning, it will be a controversial upload, no matter what you say. Great reaction as always 😊

Bal Thackeray was a leader who had so many personal qualities that made him stand tall amongst his peers. You can't draw a perfect picture of his lifework in black & white. Nevertheless, we can safely say that he was a hardline Marathi nativist who had a solid base among the people he claimed to represent and who did not restrain himself from 'bending' the rule of law whenever he deemed necessary.

Bal Thackeray's speech/interviews are very interesting & engaging. Actually, they are 1 level above the way Nawazuddin was portraying.

To Achara, the colour Orange is actually "saffron". Saffron is a symbol of our culture. Hindu Rashtra.

I don't know whether Jaby and Archara know and realize or not, but the colour code used in the movie - orange and green are the two colours that represent the two main religious communities in India - Hindus by Orange and Muslims by Green. It simply shows the deep religious conflicts of the period.

5:34 what an observation Achara! the colors really have you linger on to the mood through out the film. Something I usually observe in commercials.. But, here it is predominant.. and yes a lot of effort seems to have gone into it!

@jaby : 3:00 Do check out original Bal Thackeray or Raj Thackeray speeches...you would realise Nawazuddin has actually underplayed him unlike frost vs Nixon. Mr. Thackeray use pauses effectively in between two sentences. Also thackerays speak less but each statement of their's is powerful. So audience gets time to laugh or shout in between two sentences. Though the trailer is powerful, it has two problems. - the writer has given Nawaz pretty long sentences and also Nawaz failed to use the pauses appropriately. Rest, the movie correctly depicts the life of Thackeray as it is made by ss leader only. Also, unlike other biopics say Sanju, Thackeray's would be different as in real life he never shied away from truth and his thoughts whether he was successful or not in elections and life. He was considered visionary by many while he was loathed as hate mongerer by Pakistani military and indian communists.

He was a person who was the uncrowned King of Mumbai and entire Maharashtra. His one statement would bring the state to stand still. He always stood for the Country and Hindus. Kinda he was the Malcolm X of India, with political power as well. As a person witnessed his era in Mumbai we miss him.
