I like this dude. Sounds a lot like the direction I’m headed. 47 and no kids... low cost of living... extra cash being invested in preparation for a mid50’s retirement. I can’t wait.
Good for Robert. Retiring at 56. I retire in 1 week (at 59, so Robert's got me beat) and am on the plane to Thailand 12 days after that. Already set up in Cha am, so will be just a few minutes north of you guys.
This guy reminds me I'm so, so lucky I had a solid plan. Decades ago I made a pact with myself to live well below my means and prepare and save to retire as early as possible. I retired at 61 in 2019 and have never looked back. That aside, I can't lie...I replayed the first 8 seconds of this vid a few times...smiles!!
Superb intro mate, you can't beat a little shimmy. The house looked brilliant and such great value. Robert looks like a good bloke and I will have a look at his channel later. No way you should get a pool after all we've been through with Sebastian, to lose him to that would be devastating. Som and Title looking great, the little guy is not so little any more. Catch up with you soon, take care
Another great video , I like the fact your always shouting out for other peoples youtubes , its one of the main reasons why i follow you , and its not people who already have a million subscribers , people just starting out so well done to you for being so nice Haha , when you were talking about the pools and needing a fence or a fine , iI was thinking what about Ireland , then i though , if i went to a planning place and told them i wanted a pool , they would think im mad and laugh me out of the place haha oh and tell som we can use that pool for her photoshoot when / if i come over in August / September this year
Congrats to Robert on his early retirement I wish him all the best with life in Thailand and his new channel. I would assume Robert is renting the villa? Ownership for an expat gets to be sticky situation, so I hear. All the best, enjoy.
Wow, saw in this vid that Robert had 2 subs in the screenshot, went over to give him our support, 1.23K subs! Thats amazing! We took a year to get 100 so we could get our custom URL. Well done Robert. We wish you every success.
The start of the video with Som made an old man very happy . Wishing Robert good luck for his future in Thailand ( I don't think he going to need it ) its certainly a beautiful villa has everything you need . Great job as always great to see everyone is keeping well .
The worst part of this pandemic has been the shut down on traveling business/first class 4 times a year to Asia while staying in top class hotels. wow... would not have guessed he was 56... Home Depot aged him. Glad he quit early and got out... seems like a genuine dude. Love the ride... pretty dope!
My Thai-Wife and I plan on building a much more humble home to own, because there's so many special villa to rent and travel to! 🙏 It all depends on the planning for what is needed and what you want. So, for us we will own what is needed and rent what we want when and where we want to travel to 😉 Great Vid as always Jonny! Cheers!
Nice job with that interview!! Robert seems to be very candid I signed up look forward to seeing that. Love the pool the way you were talking seems a bit warm anyway Johnny thanks again. You guys stay safe. From us
Well Done Robert on the selection and settling into Hua Hin. I look forward to watching your new channel and to possibly having a beer when I can get back to Hua Hin myself (to Black Mountain Golf Club). Regards from Abu Dhabi, Charles.
Congrats Robert, you made an awesome choice, now time to enjoy the fruits of your effort, hope you find some good souls to share with. Subscribed. Good man Jonnie for helping. Japan, Bali and Siem reap would be top of my list.
I'm Canadian, not an ex-executive, but I have three pensions, and will have a fourth at 65. I don't have a lot of extra savings, although I may come into some funds within three years. I probably will not be able to afford a house, but there seem to be many very nice beachside condos available to rent in Hua Hin if that is all a person can afford. Great videos Jonny!
Greetings Jonny, family and Robert lovely interview you are going to fall in love with Hua Hin and the region, you have rented a great home and Jonny will help break you in,look forward to more episodes, take care folks!
With that stache you've got going on, I thought maybe I was seeing a Minnesota State Trooper video! Well if it comes down to a choice between the pool or the dog... you keep the dog!
Jonny- I live in Hua Hin - I have 2 French bulldogs - big pool at my house has never been a problem- it’s like they have build instinct never go near - all up I had 4 Frenchies at my home as two has pass and has NEVER been a issue.
Fill that vase with wine and put an electric pump on it but this guy has my own viewpoint on being in a position to just tour for years at your leisure and just enjoy your retirement
I was close to renting this place 4 months ago but decided not to as HH is very slow these days. The house looks better than the pictures listed online. Enjoy.
Good video! I'm a 56 yr old American planning on retiring in January. Just Subscribed to his channel. Oh, BTW, Dirk Diggler called, he wants his mustache back!!🤣😂
I wonder what happened (if there ever was) with the channel 'Hua hin this week'. The information was not updated. This type of house is not called a 'villa'. By far not. The correct description is bungalow.
Great video Jonny. Would enjoy meeting Robert when I get back to Hua Hin. BTW, I need to call you this week-end to ask you about a villa that Ying and I are interested in!!
Johnny I am in the same exact situation as your friend, retired, same age , never married, no kids , same financial situation , blah blah blah, ....... well,.. maybe one slight difference ( but I’m not judging ) .... and I’ve been to Thailand twice for multiple month stays and I love it there, I have nothing keeping me here and would move there permanently tomorrow ,...but it just gets so incredibly hot there in the months outside of December- February I don’t know how you guys can stand it . Did you have a tuff time getting used to it ?
Me to mate have a house in Khon kean for my retirement but I just know the day after day after day 35 degrees heat it's just to hot and also have dog that I love to bring him back to Australia from thailand costs about 20k so just holiday in thailand December January each year
@@suphatrachaiyasit7531 I love Thailand , the people are so friendly, everything is so affordable, the woman are absolutely beautiful, and the weather is great,... until it gets to a point in the season where you take a shower at 10:00 at night to head out on your scooter , and by the time you get to your destination your soaked in sweat , ...... Im definitely not trying to say anything bad about Thailand , one thing is for sure, if it didn’t get so hot and humid I’d retire there without a doubt,... I envy the people who can cope with the heat.
John me to I'm married to a wonderful Thai lady she won't go back around songkan time it's to hot for her to in fact she doesn't want to retire in Thailand because it's to hot for her now we live in Melbourne Australia and a part from about 4 months when it's cold the other 8 months it's perfect temperature for us
Ur friend is writhing to retire I was planning to retire in thiland and I was very fit I did all the rite way I think and I went to work and had a mojor stroke my life went out the window so I whis him al besti have not given I gin up
Cannot agree more with Robert what a perfect location for a home base, it is still easy to get to Bangkok and fly or drive wherever his heart commands...L.A Rob
Johnny excellent video last one about the motorbikes wasn’t really up to your usual good standard . Anyway congratulations on Robert getting his beautiful villa and he’s a Tottenham fan . The video was good for me as that’s what I intend to do next year . He said he’s single once people watch this video he won’t be single for long that house he’s got for that amount of money is a brilliant price . I will definitely take a look at his up-and-coming videos .
Love this guys life style. I have worked all over the world with no kids or wife and I have been sort of thinking lately now I'm 47 where I want to live. I'm hoping by 50 I should be in a position to maybe moved to Thailand. I could see myself living in Hue Hin alone pottering about laying by the pool and reading. So I will definitely be intrested in his experiences settling down there.
Clicked his link and says his RU-vid channel doesn't exist. Delete it right when he gets promo??? Not a smart business move from the former Home Depot exec.
Bit late watching this and maybe you have covered this in previous videos - but what model is your Escort? Obviously it has been modified but was it previously a stock standard model or was it a twin cam GT? Good video by the way ..
I can say that immigration in Bangkok went a lot smoother than I thought it would given the large number of people that show up everyday that they're open.
Being a Miami Primary and Merrimac High lad, living and working in Indo,Thailand and Malaysia past 10 years…maybe we are a brother from another mutha…55555 rock on brother…cheers n beerz Daz
One thing I have learned is to share your wealth with someone special I think you have that my friend. Good luck enjoy life live everyday as though its your last.
I have an almost identical story to Robert. Single corporate guy, retired at 47 (initiated by redundancy). I don't fly business class or stay at best hotels though.
How did he buy a property as a foreigner without a wife etc? Is it in someone else's name? I'd love a place in Thailand but don't plan on ever getting married. Seems too risky to buy property.
Great Villa, Jonny would suit you to have one like this. Nice guy and a Spurs fan. Glad he chose the Villa. Only caveat Marriott top level is Ambassador ;>) Jonny, Tash looks great...
