Not been to Chang Mai since 1995. Was very quiet then. Not many bars . But went to a go go bar there with my friend then. Also, we saw the Buddha temples around Chiang Mai and went to the main attraction near there, at Doi Suthep. We also went river rafting and elephant riding, just outside Chiang Mai. Had a really great time there.
Nice one Nick. I enjoyed the interviews and walkthroughs of the different nightlife areas in Chiang Mai. Did you try the food at Lanna Square by the Zoe in Yellow area?
Ah miss the night life of Chiang Mai. So many Thai fights on around Chiang Mai. The market in old town amazing. See you when I get back from North East Thailand
i just spent 3 weeks in Chiang Mai and a short trip to Chiang Rai, as well-- I really enjoy that town and area. My wife has an artist friend and she hangs out with him at his studio while I range the town sketching, cooking Thai food at night, etc. Met some nice folks on Loi Kroh Road and enjoyed My Place and I'm Shy, two great little bars. I don't hang at the Muay Thai area cuz I'm not looking for any horizontal ends to the evening--wife wouldn't be keen on it!
Great to see things picking up there. Was there a few months ago and that boxing bar area was dead. Food looked delicious. Chiang Mai is a great place to see. So diverse from old to new and Nimman area def worth a visit. Glad to see you guys taking a break.
Your film editing is getting Hollywood quality Nick !! Yeah Chiang Mai seems like another planet compared to Soi 6 in Pattaya. Not quite "Sleepy Town" but I'd say "quaint" and a little action but much more reserved. I do want to travel there and focus on the Golden Triangle adventure tours. Thanks for the very detailed tour !!
That's crazy. When I went all those years ago it was because my bestfriend and wife opened a bar right where Dan Dan was stood next to the Boxing ring. There was a back entrance there where you come in off that soi, next to that. It was always busy and late night there.
Hi mate has RU-vid stuffed you about again, no ads at the start and none through the whole vlog Besides that, once again a great presentation by you and your crew Best of luck Simon 👍
Not Cowboy or Nana, but I would enjoy a visit. Loved the food. USD $50 is an excellent price. Can you access a wireless internet connection? Safety? Thanks for a trip to the "outside".
I took my Thai partner, now wife to the market near the mote, she want to buy “ amirror for her Muma “ I want amirror amirror. Finally we found a stand selling umbrellas, here see this amirror. We stay at the Raming Lodge as well that was back in 2007. Went there again in 2018 for 3 days and basically went to every Temple in Chiang Mai, must be nearly 100 of them but of course the big one on the mountain is a ripper. Good to see June getting on camera a little more as well. Good stuff all round.
Hi Nick , another great vdo The girls ( in Vdo ) seem a lot prettier than the girls you show in Pattaya Less tattoos and braces Would you say this was the norm when you walked around ?
In the boxing nightlife area, do any of the bars have any good beers, or just the usual watered-down Thai commercial beers? Any Guinness, Asahi, Beer Lao Dark, Chang Mai brewery craft beer, German or Belgium beers? I would appreciate knowing, before I pop up there. Thanks.
@@NDTViThailand I classify San Mig as a watered-down Thai Commercial beer, which are rubbish, but popular since cheap. I’m asking about any bars with a better beer selection… like Guinness, Beer Lao Dark, Asahi and Chang Mai craft brewery, which are a step up from all the other commercial beers.
late night drinking = loi kroh rd - go through lollipop to the door on the opposite side of main bar area and it is the bar across the street ( same owner ) door shut halfway open until 7 am ish
I lived in ChiangMai for 14 years. Had a business & the bar/party scene was great 25 yrs ago. Its not the same anymore. Even the girlie bars are not the same--Spotlight go go finished. I go back there to visit. One of the best places left there is Mad Dog once owned by Yorkshire Nick. Its probably one of the only foreign bars left where I see old mates.....The downside is dont go there in March-April as the smoke/heat will kill you. For girlie bars hit Pattaya not ChiangMai??
Really appreciated that vlog and it would be nice if you could do more of them in different places/cities around Thailand in the future. Chiang Mai never had much for the mongers, but for backpackers/digital nomads, it is a fantastic place. I always go to the bars around the Boxing Ring if I'm in Chiang Mai. Nice people and good vibe, but unfortunately the talent is sadly lacking. I hope Nolan can make a go of it there.
Fair comment and in my opinion Nolan had the best talent. And yes I will be getting out more to other cities. I'm liking Bangkok at the moment so I will be taking a trip back there before the next city.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there in Chiang mai looking for Girls,., Especially in those beers bars,., All the Girls there don't go with customers, they just milk you for lady's drink until closing time. Very disappointing.
I didn't see this but in one bar I was told some don't go. I think that is the same with many places even in Pattaya. Chiang Mai isn't somewhere you'd go to just for the nightlife but action can be found there.
@@NDTViThailand ,., I'm sure that you didn't know, but I am a member of Pattaya Addict and Chiang Mai girly bars Girls was never on the list of availability, most members knows it, because if the Girls were available to go out with customers like Pattaya or Phuket, then the bar scene would blow up very big there. ( but as you can see, it's contain in a small places and curfew was always at 1 am even before covid. now it's just 2am? disco at 4.
Not very culturally/linguistically sensitive.. English is spoken with a lot of euphemisms & expressions,, very fast and not intelligible to the local average Thais or 2nd Language speaker,.. Pleases lift your act for a more diversified audience for 2nd language English speakers.. Express more Professionally.. 🙏😅 Not like another BOGAN RU-vidr..trying to make money..I hope this helps to make you improve your content and presentation..😇
No I'm sorry, I am who I am, I am English and a native English speaker. It shouldn't be me who should change it's up to others to learn. Sarcasm and wit is all about my language and culture you either get it or you don't.
When it comes to making money you are correct. I am a businessman with several businesses, RU-vid is a hobby that makes me money but I don't need it so it all goes to my mother.
