When it comes to Thai traditions and culture nothing is more mysterious or spectacular than the annual pilgrimage up Khao Khitchakut mountain in Chanthaburi Province. The good news is that this can be added to the list of possible Pattaya excursions, a long day trip that will show you another side to Thailand, a more spiritual and mysterious side than most tourists get to see.
Between February and April every year, 24 hours a day, for two months a million people hike up the mountain to pay reverence to Buddhist monuments and relics and...well I'm not quite sure what else tbh. The Khao Khitchakut experience has taken on a life and importance of it's own amongst the Thai people over a period of hundreds of years.
