This is not accurate buddy, you have to stop before at the immigration building side when you enter, and go iin to door #3, for motorbikes as the sign states on the door and get your passport stamped out along with the TM2 form (2copies), the officer will stamp both and return back for your immigration exit. Only after this you proceed to the customs counter with your passport and vehicle registration card (self-owned).they will issue a customes for your vehicle (2copies) sign both copies infront of the customs officer and keep one cooy for your return exit out.
If I recall correctly, it's like RM2 per passing (So it's RM4). Or you can pay in Thai Baht. I also reckon the rates are adjusted over time but it's not expensive.
Import? Meaning u want to bring the bike into Thailand for registration? I the above I got right, then I wouldn't answer that 🙇🏾♂️. Just my wild guess (as on SG standard) you need to send the bike to local inspection to test if it fits local regulations and paperworks.
To be honest, I have no idea. When I was asked to pay by the official (holding my passport), I paid. But I guess it's some form of tourist entry fee (like VEP in SG/MY).
