Hi Sumatra I used well ripened 6 med sized tomatoes. Our tomatoes are the size of lemon(Canadian) 1 lime size tamarind made into soft condition and good 3 heaping tsp. Hot chilli powder. I also used 1/2 tsp. Dry roasted mathi powder with parungayam powder. I roasted tomatoes with finely mashed tamarind. . Glad to help. Tell me how it turns out. Some times I add finely chopped garlic as well.

Just a bit of a caution- Please don't use a steel spoon on the nonstick pan or pot. It will scratch the coating and it is a health hazard. I think using a nonstick pan itself is not good, the Teflon coating leaves toxic fumes while cooking. Just my observation.
