Hindu Temple festival procession with chenda (drums).
The procession normally happens on the 2nd of the Malayalam month Medam. The procession takes a coir rope (made from coconut husk) from the rope maker to the Durga Devi temple. The rope is used to hoist a flag over the temple. The festival begins the following day and lasts for 8 days.
