See, this is actual thalassophobia. No giant monsters, just a lot of water and vast ocean. Most thalassophobia videos are actually underwater megalophobia videos passing themselves off as thalassophobia videos.
I agree! Well to be fair, those videos are a mix of thalassophobia and megalophobia. Both fear elements are in there, not just one. But the real pure thalassophobia is exactly like this video here!
@@44excalibur But the ocean is also in those videos which is what they're saying. The thasslophobic elements are still there. And to be fair to those videos thasselophobia is also about fearing whats under the vastness of the ocean. Not just the ocean itself. Alot of people's fear of the ocean manifests through those fantastical leviathans possibly lurking underneath the waves. Even if the most pure form of the fear is still videos like this.
YES FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE GETS IT! I swear as someone with Thalassophobia none of those stupid videos scare me I just find them extremely stupid and ridiculous but then videos like this that are just the dark endless ocean, nah this is actually nightmare fuel. Glad I’m not the only one who notices it.
@@habadasheryjones It was always hard to pinpoint my fear I assumed it was thalassophobia but I dont have megalophobia when its outside the ocean. This video is scary Because I dont know whats lurking down there. And my fear is of large and scary things in the dark wide expanse of the ocean even if they dont exist I fear them. I suppose my fear is the combination of the 2.
This video have 3 good parts: 1. It’s about real thalassophobia 2. It’s not that low grade stupid animation of lame looking monsters. 3. It’s really give me some goosebumps while I was watching
@@majinvegeta9280 I feel like sea monsters and the vastness of the ocean are two fears that have gone together since they used to draw sea monsters on old maps like they were out of bounds hazards hundreds of years ago.
@@Pancakewagon26 Depends on the ocean! You ever see that news story about the girl who was skinny dipping and got swept out to sea? Lost, naked and drifting in the black ocean for *12 hours* before she was rescued. 😵💫
Finally. A real Thalassophobia animation. No stupid sea monsters. Just the dark endless void of the ocean. And before someone replies saying that the monsters in the ocean count as Thalassophobia, no it doesn’t. I have Thalassophobia and none of those videos have ever scared me. I find them ridiculous. Sometimes they can get a feeling of discomfort and rarely I can feel some fear from them. But none of those videos have ever scared me to the level this video does. This is real Thalassophobia. Not some cheap monster. Just the endless dark cold ocean. The vast space of being alone yet not feeling alone at the same time. The hopelessness from seeing nothing around you. It’s haunting in a great way.
They do count, I also have Thalassophobia and those videos are effectively my nightmares. Literally, the number of times where my nightmares have followed me being hunted by an unfathomable horror in the deep dark is getting a little high. And that's the thing- Thalassophobia is a broad phobia covering multiple topics. For me, just as I am *terrified* of being trapped at sea, floating there and waiting to drown, I am equally if not more scared by the prospect that there is something underneath me. Whether it's a giant eldritch horror or a simple shark, either of them would scare the hell out of me, and that's valid.
@@jonahfalcon1970 I'm scared of sea monsters because they represent the unfathomable horror of what could be underneath me. Which is one of the many things that Thalassophobia covers.
I don't know if its only me about there's this very one thing that I fear. I use to take bath in late hours daily, and while I'm showering like literally when the water is poured down my head we all close our eyes obviously :D , but here when I close my eyes, I have this one fear or what should I even call it "phobia" ? That what if I just teleported naked in the middle of a stormy ocean say " The Pacific Ocean" alone in the dark. You can't see what's going on around you yet you can feel and hear it. You scream yet no one hears you.
Hey man, this is extremely left field but I have a question. I am using these two addons to make something similar to what you are doing. I have an issue with rain drops from uds weather not despawning when they hit the water and pretty much if the camera goes under water you can see the rain drops. How did you go around that? Thank you!
