South African mainstays Thandi Draai & DJ Beekay serve up the first single from the forthcoming Africa Get Physical compilation which arrives in December.
Thandi Draai is one of the most prominent voices in her native South African house scene. She has long worked with Get Physical on these compilations as well as her own artist releases and has proven with them that she is a DJ, vocalist and producer with a uniquely emotive sound. Further accolades include being on MistaJam's Africa Week on the BBC and previously holding down a residency on Ukhozi FM's Bhampa2Bhampa show, which is the leading radio station in Africa. She has worked with DJ Beekay on tunes like 'Linda' before now and once again the pair find some real magic in the studio with their latest track.
Says Thandi on this new cut, “‘Letha’ is a prayer asking God to bring light, peace and life over our lives, as Africa we have been pleading with our God for full circle deliverance, ‘Letha’ represents a cry to God.”
'Letha' is a truly enchanting track thanks to the unison of dramatic synth lines and a spine-tingling vocal. It soars high and conveys real emotion as the synths grow ever more bright over the hypnotic drums. It's a perfectly epic yet sophisticated and deep house sound that will make for a standout moment in any set.
This is a superb first taste of the full-length compilation to come later in the year.
