I first went to Broadstairs in 1959 to a converlesant home from Loughborough Fell in love with the whole area

TDC should use clips from these films to promote tourism again. I was born and raised in thanet but never saw it in it's hayday, these videos makes me nostalgic for a time over 30 years before I was born!

I was 2 years when this was filmed and almost certainly I was on the beach!

To this day Broadstairs retains a certain charm and is well worth a visit. It's such shame it's ugly sisters Margate and Ramsgate have degenerated so badly.

Steady now. Although most of the country's seaside resorts are a far cry from their heydays of the 60's, things are getting better in Thanet. More people can be bothered now let's just hope it doesn't run out of steam.

Thanet needs more migrants

GETTHEDEUCE It needs more houses on that huge airport site for them to move in! And while at it, after Royal Pleasurama Sands is done (cough), stick some more high rise blocking line of sight £500,000 each flats on the old music hall aka Neros and the Marina swimming pool car parks, then sort out the Cliftonville Lido with another conversion and high rise blocks the sun of established nearby residents. Finally when the new but old Dreamland inevitably goes into the red, invite back Toby I told you so never paid a penny on 3 listed structures while wilfully scrapping the major components of some of the oldest last surviving amusement rides out of spite Hunter, to blight the UK's oldest amusement park, menagerie, super cinema and scenic railway with high rise to parallel the delights of Arselington House. Then pack 'em in, more for the economy, don't dare dent it, just dent our heritage, environment, wellbeing, social integrity and security. Thank you, goodnight.

slapavisionarchival Thanet kicked UKIP out so they must not agree with cutting the number of migrants & seeing Londons overflowing Thanet, Scotland etc. seems a good place for them, anyone with a spare room can take a migrant in no bedroom tax paid.
