Betty's celebration of life will be on my 63rd birthday. I will always remember Betty . What a very special soul Miss Betty is. Thank you all for sharing her. Take care of yourselves. And each other.
I will always remember Miss Betty's smile and the twinkle in her eye as she would banter with the two of you. Heaven definitely got an angel with some sass! I have had three family members pass from complications from Dementia. My stepmom har Alzheimers. My sweet Aunt Jean had Vascular Demntia and my sweet mother-in-law passed quickly from a more aggresive dementia. I don't know which but it took her in 6 months. They say its harder on the caregiver than the person with the disease, and it truly is. I am glad you two had each other with some outside assistance caring for Miss Betty.

My precious mom passed away from that horrible disease and it was the most difficult time of my life. It’s hard losing your spouse. My husband passed from cancer but I still smile at memories of things he said and did. Mom died three years ago July 20 from dementia. It was hard to watch her decline. We had her final birthday celebration two months before she passed and she seemed to enjoy that. I have it on my phone so play it sometimes to smile. God be with Bob and you as you travel through this rough time. Treasure the memories of your time with Betty. I enjoyed getting to know her through the videos. Thank you for sharing her with us! It was evident in the videos how much in-love you and Betty were. Cherish the beautiful memories you both shared. Get rested, and then move forward (as Betty would want) with things that you have long set aside so that you could care for Betty. I am so sorry for your loss! I will so miss Betty's little face when I turn on my phone. I have worked in healthcare for almost 30 years and have seen this monstrous disease take over many people. Absolutely devastating. My step father and most of his siblings has been or had been diagnosed with this and it has truly been an eye opener as to how we need to find a cure or something to slow this thing down. The videos of Betty were sweet and you and your family were very brave for putting them out there. As a caregiver those times were hard and difficult and with a renewed sense of relief, you will continue to fight for Betty and continue to bring her story to the world!
