We went to the Takamori Dengaku Hozonkai to have lunch for our second day in Aso! You can enjoy broiling fish, tofu, potatos, and a local specialty called Dengaku at the hearth in an old tasteful residence. The scenery of Aso from the restaurant was so amazing, too!
Finally, we had soft serve ice cream at Rakunoh Mother's - Aso Milk Farm🍦The baby goat and sheep that welcomed us was so cute and peaceful😊

〇Takamori Dengaku Hozonkai
The original hearth cuisine "Takamori Dengaku", is kind of like a barbeque on a charcoal fire with ingredients such as Tsurunoko-imo (a kind of potato unique to this region), Yamame (a river fish), and wild vegetables with a special miso paste.
Dengaku is a local specialty that has a history of 700-800 years, and you can enjoy it here at a quaint cottage that still has the taste of the Meiji period.
They also serve local cuisines such as Dago-jiru (Japanese dumpling soup), and Atsuage (Thick fried tofu).
〇Rakunoh Mother's - Aso Milk Farm
It's a spot where you can enjoy the nature and animals all day in the incredible scenery of southern Aso, with a farmer's restaurant, museum, petting zoo, etc.
