Her eldest brother Mr.Kannan was my lecturer for organic chemistry in Vivekanandha college from 1964 to 1967,when I did my degree there.I am still remembering the enjoyable moments,when he made us love&understand that subject.He himself was very young,but still handled the subject in an exemplary manner.Especially there was a chapter on alkaloids&terpenes with complex formulae&derivations.He handled the subject with that much of ease as his mother-tongue.Afterwards I heard he joined in SBI.Wayback in 2014,I attended a dance programme of Hemaji&her daughters in Dallas,which was very nice.I still remember about a letter to the editor of a magazine "Dinamani kadhir" in 1973,scolding a critic by name "subbudu" for critising Hema"s dance performance stating that he must be capable of giving a better performance before he spits venom with his pen.

Hema is the biggest female superstar Indian cinema has ever produced. Most hits, most beautiful and she changed image of heroine completely by doing all kinds of roles. She was all rounder. Complete package. Dancer, actor, filmmaker who worked in cinema, on TV, stage, theatre and also became editor of magazines besides being a successful politician. Most iconic Indian female star ever.

She has been my favorite ❤️ star since I was a child and I watched every movie of hers. She is down to earth and she is a open book. Yes, pity she married a married man but did not demand Dharmendra to divorce his wife. She married him and lived on her own with two nice daughters.

She's very blessed to have a very supportive and loving family..I was so touched to see her sister-in-law having tears in her eyes - true that she didn't get enough attention from Dharmendra as he became busy with his 1st family (Wonder why he neglected her so much after kids were born?? She could've married any eligible bachelor in India or abroad whom she wanted) but her brothers and sisters-in-law and now her daughters and sons-n-law always shower so much love and support on her. She is herself a very strong woman though_ I see her visiting foreign countries all by herself even at this age!

Today, most of artists and film stars easily forget their gurus or masters, so sad, but Hema is not like them.

She always felt respectable speaking in Hindi even though she is a Tamilian a language which is the oldest of all language never spoke it. So did Rekha even though she was affluent in Tamil. Iam not a Tamilian but gives me immense pleasure when I speak in Tamil. Happy that Punjabi or Bengali born actors or actress don't do like these actress from south. If you don' t respect your mother tongue it is a shame. Only few dumb heads like cricketers mohinder amarnath don't see much in south, majority see the place with greater substance.

Hemaji looked most beautiful in the film Praya Dhan with Guddu Rakesh Roshan picturised songs. Interesting to know she grew up in Delhi. She should have had a better hindi accent if she grew up in the North. May be she did not play with locals in Delhi and stuck to her South Indian community and missed learning hindi speaking opportunity.

Also I know a Maharashtrian neighbor who came to Mumbai from kolhapur for business and lost his memory. Somebody did something wrong to him. This second lady took care of him and thus he married her. Now his brothers came searching for him and saw the situation. They tried to patch the family that both wife agreed to live in harmony. But the highlight. His brothers took away his printing business in Kolhapur. When the man feel sick, it was the second wife who worked in a hospital cooking food to feed the whole family with three sons of the first wife and a daughter of herself.
