This was so unique and cool! Never seen a guitar and xylophone shred together. Great energy and fun music. I had a friend who has passed on who I think would have loved this more than anything in the world.
Now this is kind of modern fusion I can stand behind. A bit heavier on the rock sound but with enough jazz influences sprinkled with more modern sound.
I loved your reaction to this terrific band. I had the privilege of seeing them in a small club in San Francisco along with the British band Haken (a very good band as well). What an evening of super tight, well executed and beautiful music. Sal Marrano the vocalist is very interactive with the crowd and his personality is infectious. He was out in the middle of patrons dancing and singing (so incredibly) it was joyous night of music. Thank you, Ryan, for this one!
If memory serves me correctly the base band on their own can play around 16 instruments between all members. Salvatore Marrano is the lead vocalist and he is phenomenal. Another band you should check out is Haken. Their songs Cockroach King and Celestial Elixir are really incredible.
Glad you liked them!. These guys have a YT channel with some really cool stuff, it's worth checking out. They have changed members many times but the core is formed by the vocalist, the violinist and the guitarist (by the way, he is spectacular playing fretless guitar). They have released an album in 2019 in case you are interested in listening to something on Spotify. Thanks Ryan! As always, a pleasure.
oh, you’ve come across an amazing group of dudes 🤘🏻🔥🍻 I saw them back in ‘15 after they had signed onto Claudio Sanchez of Coheed & Cambria’s label (Evil Ink Records) & opened for them on tour. such a sick show & their albums are so eclectic & intricate it’s insane 🤯
That's a great band!!! They're really amazing, and if you need more, please check Anchor, Mr. Invisible, Blood On The Radio, and every other song of them... They're awesome!!!
Band kids! I love them… if this guy was their teacher.. they are one happy school 😁 and his voice was a surprise! But those shorts and knee socks 😉 love your softer side showing!
Sokoninaru is jazz on meth, and Thank You Scientist is meth on jazz. It's why they remind me so much of one another while simultaneously being very different.
That was so enjoyable, thanks very much and as a possible overshare I have a photo from the 80's of me on stage playing drums in those same style shorts 😂😭 talk about the chance of a wardrobe malfunction! Peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎸🎤🍻
@@RyanMear yep not pretty 🤪 I see Ryan that the Maids are now only a couple of thousand shy of cracking 140 million views on their YT channel, hope it brings a smile to all of them👍
YES! These guys really need more eyes and ears! This song is always a good ice breaker for getting into them. I hope you check out some more. If you like the live session stuff like this, the song Mr Invisible was recorded at the same place. There's also great sessions from Backroom Studios and Paste Studio with the songs Anchor, Son of a Serpent, Feed the Horses, and the song that has become kind of their go-to set closer at their shows, My Famed Disappearing Act. I don't think there is a song by these guys that I don't enjoy, and that doesn't happen with many bands.
