Awesome video, and love that VT365 Engine from that 2012 IC CE! My district used to have the 2012 IC CE School Buses operated by First Student, but they had the MaxxForce 7.
I've never actually been in one as far as I can recall. We had gasoline Chevy Blue Birds when I was a kid, and I drive the Rutgers science bus which was built on the BB All American platform
lots of bus MPH gauges are off by at least 3-12 miles per hour than what it says and only have to be updated during Major maintenance (Mainly busses that have been driven for more than around 5-10 years)
I assume this is auto-transmission, if so - Prior to a steep curve or downgrade do you have to put your foot on the service brake and hold in order to downshift to say gear 1 or 2? or is that not even necessary and do you simply just shift the gear shifter into a lower gear? thanks! & this town looks kind of nice during autumn.
The commuter coaches work like you describe, there's an engine brake that comes on when you apply the service brake, and the transmission selects 2nd gear. The school buses, you can manually select a lower gear, but it's usually not necessary unless it's a long downgrade
Kids dont get the ENTIRE DAY OFF for thanksgiving??? Public holidays like those in Spain, we get FULL days off, sometimes 3, the day before, THE HOLIDAY, and the day after.. to spend time with family, but USA, kids only get ''early dismissal?'' Also, nice to see some USA school buses have seatbelts for the kids
We too lost our contract in FL so STA stepped in and didn’t give a shit about the drivers they gave us new buses but that isn’t enough for me to stay so I left.
@@yitznewton yeah haha but also knowing they have a bunch of buses going through there eveyday you’d think they change it or sowmthing or maybe it’s never been an issue with accidents haha
@@yitznewton apparently, that engine didn’t go so well for Ford. After that, that’s when the 6.7 Powerstroke was introduced for the Super Duty trucks. Unlike the previous engines The 6.7 is actually an engine by Ford themselves in house.
