As an American I must say that the chef did a bang up job! Everything looked so beautiful with the cornucopia on the buffet! Also, I absolutely love what Phil has done with switching the rooms around! It looks RIGHT in these rooms for a change, more suitable. Stephanie, turn him loose on more of the decor!
@@sheilaghk6350 not really. Great taste is one thing, interior decorating is entirely different. Understanding spacial proportions, how to make rooms seem bigger by furnishing them etc is a talent and profession that takes alot of studying. And different from making vignettes for example. They both have lots of talent and compliment each other. It's really nice to see Philip do something he's very good at, he's a performer so in videos he's mostly learning and winging it whilst everyone else is so specialized and exellent. He's got a knack for this obviously (looks much better than before, makes complete sense too) so so it's not critique. The whole décor scheme makes better sense this way, a chinese laquer box coctail salon and an airy dining room with lots of french doors/windows and trompe l'œil wallpaper in receding colors making the table the focal point. Some people study years to understand this, others just feel it, and it's a gift to explore!
glad to see the double tables and the switch of rooms make the most sense with all the people you have there. I've never done sweet potatoe cylindar cuts before, and withh matshmallows, but great idea.
🥺😢😭 I have just watched Maria being driven away and i am missing her already. She is so delightful and witty. Have a well deserved break Maria - you have earned it! 💖
Tanner & Jared really did give you a genuine Thanksgiving dinner! Kudos! Please tell us more about them. Maria will be missed. I totally 'get her' when she is disgusted over the sponge in the sink. 🤭 Love Pugsley!! 😍
I found it so delightful that you got to have a real American making a Thanksgiving feast, so you got to taste everything as it should be. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
@@None-685 i’m not saying it was exactly like ours I do believe throughout the United States you have the west coast mid west the south and east and I think we all have a little different casseroles and things but all in all it seems a lot more palatable than others I have seen where they are trying to mimic a Thanksgiving dinner and it looks nothing like our’s you know. At least we know what each of those things are in another words. Haha
@@elisabeth6108 I am not a very adventurous eater so I like to know what I’m eating if you get what I’m saying. Like I said in the other comment I have seen people do a Thanksgiving dinner where I had no idea what they were eating. Personally we had to put Thanksgiving off until tomorrow because my daughter and her fiancé had gotten food poisoning so we still have all the goodies to come tomorrow. On a good note my new dining room table came and we will be able to use it for Thanksgiving, what an extra day will do ya.
@@mommashawna707 You are absolutely right! Little twists on the same thing! He did a great job representing our Thanksgiving feast. I live on the west coast. I had all the same at my dinner tonight.
Changing the dining room and the entrance hall around was a brilliant idea! Both rooms were beautiful as they were but if having the new arrangement saves work before and after your dinners then that is perfect change. It was a great vlog with food, friends, decoration, and … HEAT!!
Eating until you might burst, and then not being able to resist dessert… yup, that’s a real Thanksgiving! Did you go around the table with everyone saying what they’re thankful for this year? That’s another great Thanksgiving tradition. ♥️
Maria is such a delightful personality! Smart, hilariously funny & warm hearted 👌🏽😉🧡. A true treasure she is. Sending you all warm greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Absolutely love your American guest he did us a proper Celebration. Deviled eggs, pineapple and Cherry honey glazed ham, dressing as they call it in the south, green bean casserole, yams with marshmallows and of course there are so many other dishes but he did it well in France! We had 18 people at our house today and I feel like for the past two days I've been non-stop cooking and preparing and dishes so it is a lot hope you guys enjoyed Happy Thanksgiving🦃
@@denonde1313 Absolutely it is especially for Spanish households and definitely in Virginia 🙂I think at the end of the day everyone wants to eat there favorite foods. But also being Native American it's a tricky "Holiday"😐
The new dining room looks fantastic!!😍 i love the sideboard i have never seen it before in the Château. The food looked out of this world and delicious!😋 the table setting was so beautiful and elegant. I loved everything about your thanksgiving, even Philip cleaning windows! (I thought he might burst out singing that old George Formby song.😂😂)
This was awesome! Made my morning a bit brighter. Will miss Maria over the winter months. The excitement of having really snuggly heat in the chateau, omg set off the fireworks. I know that has been a massive dream for you Steph since you moved in and finally it has happened! This will be the most productive, warm and joyous winter at the chateau. Thankyou for sharing your world with us.
Maria will definitely be missed. S he has a wicked sense of humor to go along with her sense of adventure. I must say your Thanksgiving meal was a marvellous follow up to Maria’s usual phenomenal creations. A very Hayy Thanksgiving to you all🦃🎉❣️
After having lived in a large old & cold house for several years in Maine I can completely understand how it feels to have splendid, permeating heat again. So happy things have progressed they way they have for you Stephanie. It makes my heart happy to watch your vlog. ❤️ Happy Thanksgiving from Maine, USA.
I love how attentively Philip helps you in to the reach lift cage. Then runs up to the window with a jacket for you. ❤ Sad to see Maria go, but perhaps, Dan can help with the cooking again. Very nice that you all had an American style Thanksgiving. I have never heard of ham being served instead of Turkey.
I'm so happy to see LaLande experiencing the wonderful traditional Thanksgiving meal and decorations that we all love and honor here in the States! I just got my pumpkin pie out of the oven, ready to peel my sweet potatoes, dressing is ready to go in the oven, and cranberry sauce is in the frig. Regular Potatoes are ready to be peeled, cooked and mashed. Others are bringing the rest. How wonderful there's an entire day set aside to focus on being thankful! Of course we should count our blessings and be truly thankful every single day of the year! I'll never forget the very first time remember I seeing darling "Mummy", when she came breezing into the kitchen singing "... count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done!" And at that moment I completely fell in love with her! Being able to "count our blessings" even in hard times is a great virtue and a wonderful treasure! The switch from entry to Dining Room is wonderful! And I think the colors and atmosphere is calmer, and will match more varieties of color schemes with your dishes and table decor than with the red. Beautiful either way, but better now! Thanks again for bringing us along, even up to the roof and view beyond! Please get all well soon, and we'll definitely miss Marie! Glad she'll be back with the spring flowers!!! Happy Thanksgiving from WallaWalla, Washington!
You folks are hilarious 🤣😆. You find joy and excitement from the smallest thing to incredibly grand occasions. But they are all enjoyed and relished with equal exuberance!
Yay! A true American Thanksgiving! So nice to see you enjoying a comprehensive sampling of our dishes for Thanksgiving! The turkey pot pie was a fun twist. 😋 We ate the much the same and the trick to enjoying such a feast is to eat early...then wait 30 minutes+ to revisit the buffet for round two! Also, take time to go around the table and say what you are Thankful for this year! Don't forget that Thanksgiving leftovers are also AMAZING! Initially, eating it exactly the same is yummy. However, with such a feast comes much leftovers and the necessity for remaking the food into different dishes is key to avoiding waste and enjoying the food in a new way -turning the whole turkey into pot pie, using the stuffing/dressing as the bread along with the ham for eggs benedict, or turning mashed potatoes (also a staple) into potato pancakes, etcetera, excetera.... Happy Thanksgiving! A great way to usher in the Holidays!
So weird....I found myself with a twinge of sadness and a tear as Maria was leaving, which I told myself was silly, of course, as I'm watching the video. It just goes to show, that there really is a personal connection to the people of Lalande. Different, but still a feeling of friendship. What started with a pandemic amusement, has grown to a Lalande Community! So thank you again for sharing your lives with the world! Happy Thanksgiving!
Love it all! Thank you to everyone's contribution. That is what LaLande is known for. And the chatelaine exemplifies the goodwill of all. If it was only one thing to say I was thankful for, it would be for the Chateau Diaries which has encouraged, enlightened and filled us with much joy since it's very start.
Absolutely love Maria's narrative and vlogging. Will miss her. Glad the wood burner works so well. Congrats on getting your dining room back it looks great. The Thanksgiving meal looks right on. Hope everyone enjoyed it.
The Georgian sideboard is stunning in the new dining room. Sitting space in the chinoiserie room is perfect! Love the deep green stove and the comfort added is wonderful. American Thanksgiving is well represented.
So glad you had an American cooking your Thanksgiving feast this year❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸. We have so many different regional specialities for the occasion, but it’s always completely delicious
Everything looked so delicious and the new dining room set up looks beautiful!! I absolutely love a wood stove, especially with a glass door, but they can definitely run you out of the room. I'm so thankful for you, Stephanie, and everyone else. But, all of your hard work is so appreciated. You bring so much joy to thousands of people around the world! Happy belated Thanksgiving! Much love to you all!!
All those folks at the chateau are delightful. Glad to see you have others to help you narrate so you can have a little rest between takes. Phillip helping you in and out is so gallant. He has brilliant decoration ideas. The two of you are perfect together. Glad you found one another. Thank you for sharing your adventure. 🇺🇸🌹
If one wants to learn to cook, spending time in a kitchen with a very good cook is the dream. Good job Philip for continuing your cooking lessons. You will learn loads with Marie and Dan if you get the chance.
After filling our bellies with the bounty of the harvest season, I settled down to watch my favorite chatelaine enjoy her own Thanksgiving meal! Being thankful for blessings of abundance should be international! Well done and a true representation of all of our traditional trimmings. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
Stephanie, I love the view from the cherry picker!!! You can see in what a gorgeous setting La Lande is!!!! Superb view!!!! And Philip, please never change!!! You are such a gem!!! How thoughtful you are!!!!🥰🥰🥰🤗
Thought Maria was a full-time fixture?! The chef is so humble; that was a chef d'oeuvre.I give thanks for the phenomena called Stef and her steadfast team living the dream for all of us.
what a feast! and moving the dining room is the right choice. it's lovely and the new salon in the former dining room is gorgeous! you get to appreciate both rooms in a different way now. as we say here in the US Happy Thanksgiving. And we are thankful for you, Stephanie, and the rest of those who make La Lande a very special place.
Maria was such a great cook. Very creative and full of fun. Wow! Stephanie Thanks giving at LaLande is amazing. The table setting, floral arrangement and the food yummy! ❤
What a marvelous, classic La Lande holiday. The food, the people, the decor (Michael is genius). Thankyou, for sharing another wonderful La Lande evening.
Philip made a good job of cleaning the window. Give him some putty as I noticed there was alot missing. I ve just reputtied the windows on my houseboat. They came out of a chateau.
Dining halls are particularly common in northern countries so it will serve both functions well with a daytime cloth (or waxed wood) and evening table cloth etc. So lovely to know either way you will all be cozier with the wood burners in place. Well done.
Wow!!! Epic vlog!! Loved the addition of the drone footage. Loved the cherry picker adventures!! So sad to see Maria go, but so glad she’s coming back. So nice to see Nati’s family there:) And a massive Bravo for the guys who cooked that dinner!! As an American, I know the planning, time and work that goes into a meal like that!! Well done!! And SO happy for you that you finally have 1 wood stove up and working and that you were all warm and toasty for a change!! A very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and the start of a very merry Christmas season!!! Love from Mary in Southern California 💗🤗
❤ Every. Single. Detail. Is. Beautiful. ❤ Stephanie’s new do. The menu! The gorgeous dining room + table setting. The cornucopia. The new stove! Just. Absolutely. Everything. ❤
I'm sad that Maria has left but so glad she will be returning I absolutely love her !! So happy to see the log burner is amazingly warm about time you all were cosy
I missed Thanksgiving here in America - I was a little under the weather; it was actually my second missed T.G in a row so it was nice to see a real American Thanksgiving! I've been watching it over & over kind of like I can't get enough of it- friends family loved ones a new puppy & a feast fit for a king.
That Thanksgiving dinner may go down in La Lande history- it looked absolutely amazing. A true American tradition still alive in the heart of France!! Well done.
That is so much better as a dining room and the red room looks so much bigger now. Maybe it's time for a Stephanie addition to La Lande a grand entrance.
You can't make any changes to the outside of the chateau without permission. There are already plans waiting for permission to open up windows and make it more symmetrical. Long waiting times in France for these things I'm afraid.
So thankful for all of you at the chateau! Your kitchen provides me with no end of ideas . A good variety of contributions ! Maria will return , yes! love her humour . Baby pugs are the best baby to have .(today ) so much fun to be included in your world .thank you steph
It’s such a delight that you all celebrate Thanksgiving, traditionally an American Holiday ! What a wonderful dinner you all shared… watching from California
Good morning and thank you. Looking forward to Lalande celebrating Thanksgiving as only all of you can. You show such appreciation for every sunrise, every sunset, for the grace notes each day brings, for the people you live with and love. That is having what I call the "thankful heart." Don't think there is anything better.
Happy travels Maria. You will be missed. Happy Birthday Dana and a very Happy Thanksgiving all. Fabulous looking meal. The guys out did themselves. Loved the shots from the cherry picker. Beautiful set up Philip.
Kewl ride right from the bedroom window. I've not yet experienced too much garlic in a dish or bread. I'm 60. I ferment garlic in honey As a substitute for antibiotics/antimicrobial when the slightest indications of a cold/flu are afoot. Your Thanksgiving dinner looks delicious
See you soon Maria...you're awesome! And speaking of awesome...that Thanks Giving dinner and the new look dining room are both spectacular! What a fun day with cherry-picker tours and Pugslie 🐶(not sure of the spelling). 🥰😍😘
Happy birthday Dana!! Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Bye Maria, you shall be missed by all your fans across the world!!! LOL!!! Enjoy being with your family and the holidays! But hurry back to Lalande....they may not survive without you!! ;) The new dining room looks absolutely gorgeous! Love the sideboard...it was made for that space! Such a sweet vlog! Loved the cherry picker 'manège'!! Hugs from moi in Canada!
Stephanie, I found your channel a few years ago but didn't stay. I'm watching again and it feels different this time around. I'm enjoying it immensely....and I must say you are a natural in front of the camera dishing up these episodes. Very well done! Congratulations on this entire project....it really is incredible. I wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving today.
I absolutely love the new dinning room!! Phillip your eye for design is amazing. Love the sideboard where it is. Looks like it’s always been there. Good job on the dinner as well boys! And a very happy birthday to Dana ❤
What an amazing Thanksgiving feast. Now I'm starved and more than ready to begin mine! By the way, I know Maria will be sorely missed... and the sideboard looks splendid in its new spot.
What a gorgeous setting for thanksgiving and so warm and cosy this year. Stephanie you may have to think of -🤫 dare I say it? - opening a window slightly when the fire is on. (What a great problem to have being too hot, rather than being cold.) I’m simply amazed at the wonderful cooking abilities of LaLande guests and volunteers! The food looks so delicious and gives me food envy.😅 😍
Happy birthday Dana! We will miss you Maria. The dining room looks beautiful especially the sideboard and the chairs work better in there also. Please don't change the magnificent look of the chinoiserie paper in the newly petite Salon. Wow, What a beautiful dinner and centerpiece. Love to all ❤
Wow what a thanks giving dinner. We in Australia don't have that, we save it all up for Christmas dinner. What a magnificent dining room now with the fire cooking you all.
💕That dining room looks superb the sideboard really does finish the room off with the dining table & matching chairs it’s the perfect room for it all💕The other room set up the way it is with lots of chairs & the table in the middle a great meeting place to sit & chat either before dinner or just any time of day💕
