Chukar hunting: the most challenging upland game bird to hunt. Plenty of chukar and Hungarian partridge and action over the Thanksgiving break. For more information, please see chukarculture.com.
Same. My wife has a robust collection of mylar balloons from our hunts. They've become a kind of parodic trophy. I admit that sometimes I can't find a shell, or forget to look when in the middle of busting birds, but overall I think we're ahead of the trash game with how many other people's shells we bring home. We parked in an area last week, just off a road, which was littered with dozens of shells. Who does that?
WOW, incredible amounts of birds! It's amazing to see that many coveys of partridges. I hunt mostly ruffed grouse in Vermont, and I get excited if I get 4 or 5 flushes in an entire day, LOL. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Bob McMichael it could be possible. I would love to learn more about how you hunt these birds. Pheasants and bobwhite quail is what I hunt here in Nebraska
@@cm80 Interesting. You might check out my blog, chukarculture.com, for our take on hunting chukar here in Idaho. I wish we had more pheasants here (and that I could get permission where the few are...).
Wow what a great video. No music, great video footage and wow so many birds im so jealous. I barely see 1-2 groups of quail when i go hunting. Good job keep up the good work
Bob ,well done ,one of the best Chukar and Hun videos and the country side,I have seen so far I watched it a few times , I wish I was there.Excelent .Derya Erce.
About your gun jam ... I just had the Benelli click happen a few days ago for the first time... it happens if you bump the bolt or the stock and the bolt will slide out of battery and then the firing pin isn't lined up anymore with the primer so it just goes click. I have been shooting Benelli for about 5 years now and just now experienced that for the fist time this season .
Bob hai dei cani fantastici io amo andare a ckukar con pointer inglese e setter inglese ma devo farti complimenti e complimente anche a tua moglie che riesche sempre a riprenderti in azione bravi tutti👍
I love upland bird hunting and my Brittanys are great quail and pheasant dogs but I'd love to try my hand at these partidge!!! We don't have those in Oklahoma.
Thanks, Gabe. Me, too! This area was decimated of birds after our big winter two years ago, and so far it looks like there are almost no birds out there at all. Sad.
Me three! I listened to Bob’s episode on the Project Upland podcast from a couple years back while doing 2500’ on an incline treadmill yesterday. And watching this video today to motivate myself to get to the gym and now I shall go!
Agree 100 percent never understood why hunting videos have scores like “jaws” or some such nonsense The wind and nature are great This is a really good video thanks
All I can say is wow! I'm super jealous. I could only dream of finding that many birds here in the the Mojave desert in Southern California. Way to go.
In the foothills of the Tehachapi mountains, Gorman and around the Ridgecrest areas there are a lot of Chukar, White winged dove and California quail. Find water and you’ll find more birds than you would have ever suspected. Many great hunting trips out there with my first dog.
Alot of green up and tall grasses. A moment that is timeless, and beyond the reality of typical upland hunting. Especially for Hungarian & Chukar partridge.
Good work Bob! I always enjoy watching your videos. You're definitely seeing some strong chukar numbers in your area. When you list your dog mileage, are those dog miles combined between both Angus and Peat? I'm struggling keeping healthy feet on my dogs this year and I'd love to be getting even a combined mileage that your boys are! Keep up the good hunts. Also was that your phone going off and why your wife was trying to not break out in laughter? Thumbs up!
Thanks for the comment, Jeff. Miles are for each dog, not combined. We run our dogs year 'round on a gravel trail, so their feet are pretty tough. Occasionally if we're hunting on lots of rock they'll get some small abrasions or splits in pads, but generally they're trouble-free. I think the key is the year-round running on the gravel trail. And yes, that was my phone going off in the video (was my bagpipe teacher)!
Yeah. Some times it is nice to meet other hunters and when I didn't have a dog few ppl from group helped me out with finding a breed that suited me best and took me out. So it's really cool group.
They might be a little high strung, but there noses are absolutely phenomenal, I had a short hair , a wire hair, and a springer, none of them compared to my britts
To be honest, I've never had the patience to train steady to wing. I've never hunted over a STW dog, either. Mine don't lose many birds, and it's working for me so I'm pleased. They will pause on wild flushes - presumably to see if any fall.
Hola bob es Marcello de Venezuela, cuando espero tu invitacion para cazar con tus perros , tengo un amigo qque vio tu video y se esta volviendo loco por la belleza de tus perros . Saludos
Your dogs are best at the what they do, My Brittany is is well trained for a domestic dog. yet not trained to hunt. I kinda feel bad, she's not exposed to that life style. love your video,it's bad ass.
Hi George, it's the Q5 Centerfire vest. Here's my review of it: chukarculture.com/2016/09/05/q5-centerfire-vest-review/. I'm back to the Badlands vest (chukarculture.com/2013/12/21/badlands-upland-game-vest-review/), which is a much better vest for chukar IMHO.
Cuando tenga alguna cria me avisa, Soy de Venezuela y siempre e tenido Bretones . Para mi son unos de los mejores perros de cacería por su tamaño y fácil de educar. Y son buenos con sus amos.
Brittany is the breed. Cocker spaniels aren't used for these birds because their legs are too short for the terrain and brush, but I believe they're used for fox hunting in other parts of the world.
Great video!! I love partridge hunting with pointing dog, here in Spain we hunt red partridges, there are some videos in my small channel if you want to know it
@@bobmcmichael I'm from Pocatello! Earlier today I flushed a covy of Huns on my way up to the forest. Missed.... But it's been a great year this year for everything except pheasant for some reason. Hope your season is going well!!
Thank you for your comment. My shotgun is a Benelli Ultra Light 12 gauge. I reviewed it here: chukarculture.com/2012/01/08/benelli-ultra-light-12-gauge-shotgun-review/
Очень красивая работа собак , и сама охота . Но ружье автомат это как хорошее вино не из винного бокала пить а с жилезной кружки . Нада курковочку 28 , 20 калибра, тогда картина будет завершена.
