That's how a lot of these characters are. The comics have insane stories and ridiculous galaxy-shattering feats. And stories straight from hell. Comic books are in a league of their own unless people bring it to the big screen unfiltered.
It doesn't matter lol only idiots would make comparisons n real fans would just enjoy that a character of that magnitude made it to the big screen. 😉 and some more villains we'd enjoy come out in the future
Thanos Rising contradicts nearly everything that Jim Starlin, Thanos' creator wrote about his creation, including having Death speak to Thanos (Death never speaks to Thanos), having Death relish in the agony of people dying (Death hates suffering), Thanos having any offspring whatsoever (Thanos almost killed Nebula for suggesting this), Thanos having an insane mother instead of a caring, loving one (a mother that Thanos in fact killed during his nuclear bombardment of Titan and NOT vivisection), Thanos relying on technology to shoot energy blasts (instead of his natural Eternal abilities), and last but not least saying that Titan's computers cannot perceive Lady Death, when I.S.S.A.C did in fact perceive Lady Death in Captain Marvel # 33. Thanos Rising is essentially published fanfiction set in an Elseworld, or maybe the distorted memories of a Thanosai clone as it dies on some barren rock and should be thrown in the dustbin along with other such atrocious retcons like the Star Wars sequel trilogy and the Timeless Child episode of Doctor Who.
No Thanos actually went to school in Ely Minnesota. He was held back his 11th grade year. He worked at the Dairy Queen in town but only during the tourist season. His parents are not dead. They retired to Tucson Arizona back in 1997.
True. A man with big muscle but not the sharpest pencil in the box. If I remember correctly the bubble burst of 2008 left him homeless and penniless, and this might have contributed to his psychosis.
@@ajzorger93 No way! Things got that bad? I guess that's why he got all them weird shots that messed up his bones and brains... 10 shots straight into the vertebral for rabies, I heard stories. So, I guess these weren't urban legends after all.
I think that wasn't the lady death that we know that hangs around with Deadpool from time to time but I think it was Mictecacihuatl the Aztec goddess of death, the reason I say this no offense but the Aztec gods in mythology are really bloodthirsty yo.
The crazy thing is that he actually saved the humans and the universe by taking half of all beings becuase of the birth of the Titans, Great video man.
To think Thanos used to be so appalled by death it basically made him ill. To eventually becoming one of the biggest threats in the Marvel universe who wouldn't hesitate to kill if it suits his needs.
In the comics, he didn't really kill unless he thought mistress death wanted it, or commanded it (outside of the snap). One kind of had to tick him off to get him to kill. Example: The gardener he didn't want to kill, and told him so, but he fought back against Thanos and Thanos took his gem and killed him. The Speeder he didn't kill, but did leave him (as a baby) to the Collector.
Has it occurred to anyone that we are actually never told why the mere sight of a baby Thanos made his mother go mad? How did that actually happen? Any info on this?
She basically saw into the depths of who or what he was. She saw Lady death in his eyes and the name was whispered into her ears...it sent her reeling into basically a insane person.
Yeah, it's called bad fanfic writing from an author that didn't know or didn't give a shit about the character's actual backstory, the one that he was paid to write about. In previous issues, Thanos' mother loved and cared for him, and she was killed in the nuclear bombardment of Titan, and Thanos stated that she was the only one he would have considered sparing.
Mentor was his father, and the smartest titan, while his mother was a "seeer," who ..traditionally, was believed. Except when she tried to kill her son. Then, they just thought she went crazy. The Original verson was a bit better though. This was done because they wanted to make Thanos as dark as possible, and that's the worst they could think up (which is pretty bad, to be fair).
She can't be detected by Galactus, one of the most advanced beings in every universe. Even Mephisto cannot detect her on some occasions. If we are going by the comics, I'm not even sure warlock can see her, and he can see all of the aspects and gods with no problem (he does later, after the gauntlet-grab, but idk if he sees her before it). He was simply good, ..just not THAT good. lol.
Eh, yes and no. Thanos being killed early Does prevent that, but does also cause a few other things in return. 1. Celestials numbers would go upward, because they would have more planets to feed from (in the comics, their numbers had to be reduced for the universe to thrive). 2. You would probably still have "Thunderstrike Thor," which was rtarded. 3. There would be no "restart" to the 616 marvel universe. 4. Eventually, a few of the Reed Richard(s) learn from this problem, and choose to make "food planets" in various universes. 5. There is a theory floating around that if the Infinity stones aren't used every so many thousands of years, they would cause the universe to self-restart (big-bang), which means everything would be destroyed and returned new. Thanos hunted them down in the comics universe, and not too many people knew about them, besides him, ..or weren't actively looking for them. Which means they would still be laying about, unused. 6. Also, IF someone else gathered them, it could've been even worse. We saw how the magus, goddess, and nebula used the gauntlet. The best plan is basically what warlock did, and give stones to various separate people to hold and defend. They were a little too open with showing the gems off during fights, but you get the idea. Killing Thanos would probably screw everything up even worse, and the best thing would be to secure the stones in the past, to ensure he doesn't eventually get them.
Um, no he didn’t! His father was at least still alive in the early-mid 90’s, decades after thanos was introduced, and was already fully grown, when (marvel)comics turned into pure trash, and i(& everyone else also should have) stopped caring about them! His father is Mentor, and has been(or at least was)in comics for quite awhile.
Movie Marvel changed Thanos character to better fit a wider audience I would guess but the movie Thanos is completely incorrect especially in motivation. The created comic and real character that is Thanos wanted to wipe our existence on a massive scale with the infinity stones to impress death. Death is personified as a female figure which through different instances Thanos met her earlier in his life and wanted to be with her. Intimately and forever. So in order to gain access to her and impress her as there was a bit of a need there, he reasoned that killing the majority of the universe if not all existence would be a great way to feed her souls and make her extremely happy with him. That was his motivation for gathering the infinity stones and trying to wipe out existence. Because he wanted a girl to fall in love with them, and that girl/female… Was death. So ya ….. movie marble and Figgy didn’t think that would be good for sales with the general public as the decision making that they geared towards has to do with pandering and profit, so they change his character and his motivation to better fit a wider audience to do just that… Pander and profit. This is the water down less than Thanos compared to the real Thanos
@@بشرى-ن7ض how would Thanos be an eternal with the deviant gene lol, eternals are essentially robots, they don't have genes. Thanos is a titan with the deviant gene..
@@بشرى-ن7ض actually, in the MCU yeah he's from titan but the race on titan are called titans. I can understand the confusion since yes, in the comics, he was an eternal but that's not the version we saw in the movies.
So does that mean Death is not real? Is she part of Thanos psyche? Or is she a living and an independent Concept that is too complex for most people/machines to comprehend?
She is what they call an, "aspect." meaning, she IS real, but has no real true physical form. examples: Galactus is viewed only to US in this "humanoid form," or to Earth-based people, but to other races among the stars, he looks like a verson of those races. It's basically what THEY see, not what IS, otherwise you would see a cloud, like from the crappy Fantastic four movie. Mephisto has been shown in MANY forms, based on where he is located, or who is viewing him. Not only because he can change form, but because everyone sees him differently. In the comics, his henchmen see her as just a dead corpse laying around that he messes around with, so they are pretty sure Thanos is fuqqed up and not to be messed with, but heroes never really SEE her at all, and she is only talked about by other aspects, like Thanos or Mephisto. I hope that clears it up a little.
I read Thanos Rising years ago. I had enjoyed it. Great read. I thought it was amazing. One of the few times I had any comic book access due to a friend of mine that had let me borrow some.
Pretty much reality. lol. The universe WOULD be destroyed by one. Seems about right to me. To be fair, he did go around the stars banging a ton of females from different planets, so it's not like he only simp'ed for her. She was just his bottom-bish.
It's a joke on marriage, to the writers. Thanos is MADE by Death and spends an entire life with her. She gets bored with her "creation," and finds a fun-boy.
I might do a breakdown of him. Everyone has though, and that is why I haven't, but he's my favorite villain in all of comics. Especially the Comics version. Respect due!
With all due respect I grew up reading comic books when they were 5.-10 cents you know the original Batman Superman coming from another planet. I get it but is this the storyline you want to put in kids his that a young child Thanos killed his parents. I mean you got to stop and think of the psychology of it all kids will wear the costumes pretend to be them they were aware to make up so forth and so on and some kids are very fragile and this is the storyline you want to give them that if you kill your parents you can become somebody super and powerful and important even though your villain. Just a thought he
Tbf I think Thanos rising is teen rates, tho I prefer Jim starlings orgines for Thanos more. It is far less violent and it is to me more in character for Thanos. Evil megalomaniac aside Thanos is not just Marvel's darksied. Rising was a fun ride but I prefer Jim starlings version.
Also your luk y to have grown up in that era of comics...not that society with the Outright bigotry and all. The comics tho at the time tho we're far more prevalent and cheap too. Everyone was reading them and as a kid and now as a young adult I'd love to live in a time like that. Comics super available. This time with more diverse characters and audiences tho. I hope the movies can start to promote the comics so we can get that again!
Darksied wasn't the inspiration for Thanos. Thanos was always the death to Eros love by Jim in college. The look was inspired but that's it. Thanos is his own thing
@@riveraharper8166 Everything about movie Thanos was alright. Brolin did great, he looked just right...Only, the writing was terrible and the character himself was weak af compared to his comic book counterpart. I mean, Thanos was immortal because of mistress death in the comics, and was able to use the stones to change the entire universe into everything he wanted, not just a single snap (which also fried him kfc-style).
@@reviewwithyou2 Correction: Everything in that movie was pathetic and mediocre. -They oversimplified Thanos. -Vastly inferior than Infinity War. -They screw up his complex motivation and family issues. -No extra time for the Thanos family issues or no more part of the original Infinity war story was introduced or shown. -He became some mere punching bag for overbuffed heroes. -Become a mere plot device for cringe feminist pleasing forced girl power moment! -Made a lousy cheap time travel nonsense instead of the original IW story. A time travel story which was shown better in movies like 2067... What's next in Mcu? Galactus or Gorr will be punched in the face by some pink hair female group again? Joke...
@@riveraharper8166 You had better be careful, they'll do it too.. Throwing away mistress death like that is what did me in for the entire series of movies. ..And yet, here I am, rooting for a female character, while all the fems call me a pig..? The world is so weird...
