That's not a pyroclastic flow. It's way too slow. Also it isn't flowing. And if it was an eruption that caused a pyroclastic flow, there wouldn't have been any time for the people to react and the helicopter filing would be gone.
You can also see all the smoke/debris going behind the cliff they're on. I think it's at an angle where it looks much closer than it is, but it's not coming down directly on them- at least not like an avalanche. No one got caught up in any flow.
Looked into it a bit more. Apparently that's Mount Dukono in Indonesia, and it's known for spewing ash and the lightning shows that creates. Video from people at the summit shows they wear masks to protect from inhaling ash. It's pretty safe to assume everyone in the video was fine
The fact that video of the tourists on the volcano made it to the internet suggests that whoever shared it knew the status of the tourists and could confirm that they survived.
Suffocation is the most common cause of death from a volcano, and inhalation of volcanic ash increases risk of lung cancer, or if you live nearby just cancers in general, due to something called "oxidative stress". Although volcanic ash can contain a myriad of things, so some volcanoes are worse than others.
So I looked up that video. If you type in compass media and volcano the original video comes up and you can see them getting ways away from the eruption. But you could also see like 10 seconds into the video. A large rock just barely misses them
Yeah, volcanic ash is usually extremely hot (obviously) but is also very course and sharp. Even if it cools down, it will tear up your lungs like a billion tiny razor blades, and when exposed to moisture it becomes like cement.
10:18 I too suffer from involuntary jazz hands. Lol, actually I just have a minor tremor in my pinky and ring finger on my left hand, but the first sounded better.
Hey alicia, not sure when youre planning on doing your next SCP video but you should check out Mr. Illustrated, along with the volgun hes probably the best SCP youtuber out there, and he's actually collabed with volgun, i swear more than once but off the top of my head i can only think of his "scp 682 vs scp 743" video. Hes a great channel but reactors hardly ever check him out. Itd be cool to see you check out his videos, some good places to start would be: Scp 939 (with many voices) Scp 001 (when day breaks + unlondon) Scp 407 (the song of genesis) Scp 1730 (what happened to site 13?) Scp 001 (the factory) And so many more, personally id love to see her check out the "scp 079, a clean fast end" tale, although i dont think shes seen 079 yet. Would really love to see it!
The thing about the salads? My problem is that the textures of some raw veggies literally make me gag, and I just can't force myself to swallow them. I CAN eat salads, but the texture makes me extremely apprehensive about it.
With the kangaroo, there's a viral vid of a guy punching a kangaroo to get his dog free, and the 'roo stands there with a "...the *fuck* just happened?!" expression on his face for a few seconds. The reason for this is that, when male kangaroos fight, they rely on their far more powerful hind legs, so getting hit by the fist of a person made it think over "Okay, if his small limbs are *that* strong, how the fuck strong are his lower ones?!" Second one is the vid in question - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VWiTrV5iRYs.html
I got the eating habits of a 6 year old, but I try to find ways to eat greens. I have autism and ARFID, (Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) and my body reacts violently to strong smells, tastes, and food textures. Imagine eating cilantro and tasting soap, now imagine that for nearly every food. That's what I have to deal with. Yes, I've tried blended stuff, projectile vomit and gasping for air while sobbing. I physically can't...
In the case of the volcano it isn't right next to them yet, the perspective unreliable. They were right to get out of there just in case. However it's possible that the cliff they're on was never touched by ash cloud.
ou can see all the smokey stuff going behind the cliff they're on, it's not directly above them. I think it's at an angle where it looks much closer than it is, but it doesn't look like it's coming down directly on them.
If you order a salad at a restaurant, you are just legitimately wasting money. Also loved that dog trying to play fetch with the statue. Can you please do Fallout reactions btw? I want to see your reaction to the Burned Man. I think you'd really appreciate his story.
It always rains when the fair comes by me it's like a saying goes around here there's an curse on it as soon as the fair goes it's sunny again 😂😂 like for the whole 4 days its down it rains like a lot
I do actually enjoy some fruits and veggies, like seriously gimme a bag of baby carrots and it'll be gone within the hour with the only evidence being me having hiccups It's just that I enjoy them more as a snack rather than a meal that's the problem
Okay I am a food opportunist! Now you might ask yourself 'What is a food opportunist?'. Well my inquisitive reader/fellow rat, a food opportunist will eat anything that is offered and/or within budget! Example: If I am offered/can only afford plain white rice, I am eating rice, but if I have the option/money for eggplant parm, you best believe I am eating the eggplant parm! Obviously some foods will be beat out over other foods, so salad will be beat out by fish and chips, but salad will beat out cole slaw because fuck that noise, unless it is either cole slaw or pickled pigs feet, then I guess I'm eating the budget cabbage and mayonnaise! (Not a cut to those who enjoy pickled pigs feet, your tier list may vary, you do you Baby-boo!)
Went and watched the full 56 second video from that channel with the ash blow-out from the volcano. It seems that the ash just went straight up into the air and never actually rolled over the rim of the caldera ( the hole ) it came out of. I believe they were fine, but the video does not give concrete evidence, merely a 90% suggestion.
I don't eat salad specifically, but I WILL put everything that's in a salad in a chicken wrap or on a burger or something. I just don't like the ratios of meat to veggie in chef's salads. I'd rather just wrap it in a tortilla.
alicia. it is a bad touch if you touch it or breathe it in but it is so fucking hot that it just going to rise straight up so they are actually pretty darn safe tilll it starts raining ash.
You gotta react to Crime Directive I know I'm posting this on every video on this channel but they only have like 2.5k subscribers so I legitimately might be your only audience member who knows about them
I hard relate to the folks being discussed at 8:00-ish though for me its due to autism sensory issues. I have a really hard time with most kinds of plant matter be it fruit or vegetable, I just can't handle the texture. If I take a bite of almost any raw plant matter I retch violently. that said even I can eat salads, I just have to bury them in so much eggs cheese meat and ranch that it basically negates most of the health benefit of getting a salad in the first place. I can also eat many vegetables in things like soups or casseroles as long as the proportion's right.
I decided to do some research on the climbers sources I've come across says there were no deaths. The volcano is Mt Dukono in Indonesia if you want to check yourself. I just typed in "mount dukono climbers dead?" Into google, stupid yes but dead nah.
If theg were f!ying intk a headwind, it might push back the smoke enough to get clear. They might. Also have safety equipment for events like this. Gas masks, protective clothing and the like. You won't be able to go swimming in it, but it should last long enough to help get away.
I'd say i have the eating habits of a 12 yr old. I'm ok with some fruits and veggies, but asparagus, brussle sprouts, melon and durian are no go for me.
I love fruits and vegetables i remember my mom telling me that we went to Friendly's and she told me that when we finished our meals they brought me ice-cream and i threw a tantrum because I wanted broccoli
4:50-ish it is a very bad touch, but they may have managed to get clear before the smoke/ash/glass caught up to them. it would've taken sliding down the loose gravel hard and fast enough to risk a bit of road rash, but it is possible, both because the stuff was billowing rather slowly and because if the wind had been blowing towards them the chopper capturing the footage would've been dead too.
3:00 I hate when people give children pickles in order to get a reaction - and if you looked at what was on the spoon - it was dill pickle relish. That is just a whole different kind of evil in my book. 3:30 The toxic gases from a volcano can kill, but they should be very happy it's not pyroclastic - that would sear the flesh from their bones... and then burn the bones afterward. None of the smoke reached them, thankfully. 8:30 I have *literally* heard my best friend ask "Why are you trying to get me to eat what my food eats?" when I suggest a side salad. For him, if it's not some sort of potato, rice, or meat, he doesn't want any... and woe be to you if you suggest a green vegetable. 13:30 ... the bite felt by every man the moment it happened.
3:50 He has to say that to not piss off YT and get the video censored. Even if we can clearly tell that they got hurt, YT bots need that sentence to not automatically flag the video. (this could be wrong, but a lot of people say this is the reason and it has genuinely worked for him all these years so...)
I eat a bunch of things but sometimes i either have sensory issues with the food product or just dont have a lot of fruit around (mostly carbs & stuff)
