DSP: "The idea (Project 7) fell apart, I stopped working for it..." He literally never even started. There was zero work done. There wasn't even a script he could show of what it'd have in it. And he took time off for it even, just to sit on his ass and play Supercard all that day more than likely. Also, him claiming it was just a couple hundred dollars? He was making $1000 a month according to wayback machine, and he ran that Patreon goal for Project 7 for over half a year. It was the main goal of the Patreon, and why he started Patreon in the first place. We are talking near 10 grands scammed, not "couple hundred". And never forget, one of the main reasons he dropped it altogether, the "stars that aligned", was Street Fighter V. Not some fans asking for it, not some complications, he just thought the golden goose had arrived and threw everything else to the wayside to favor the new hot release that he thought was going to be all the rage. DSP just recently admitted what we all knew all along, that he truly believed that SFV was going to be big and make his channel get tons of views, because SF4 gave him so many views back in the day. And because it didn't, he hates SFV. To this day he's upset that the game didn't save the business like he thought it would, Capcom completely betrayed his ridiculous fantasies.
Plot twist: Pandalee was, in fact, Asian. She's Kojima's daughter and Justin Wong's sister. She was sent to infiltrate the Snort Fort. That actually explains a lot.
I've been a detractor for 10 plus years so I'm well past the "it's gotta be an act" phase. But then he goes and buys eye drops, talks about it, and then does a video about a """friend""" where he supposedly cries. The vortex never fails to surprise 😂
DSP is so “Catholic” he won’t donate to charity because he gets residual clout from it but will not hesitate to suck up all the likes from a death announcement tweet. Also , how did he fit that tribute into his very busy schedule?
43:24 Ok, I’m calling BS. Unreal Tournament came out in 1999. Phil was 17. The first GeForce card didn’t come out until late 1999. Voodoo 2 came out in 1998. I’m supposed to believe that DSP was on the cutting edge in high school? Massive X. And building or upgrading PCs back in the 90s and early 2000s was a nightmare. I’m supposed to believe the guy who is afraid of his tabs in internet explorer closing if something updates used to build PCs when errors were rampant and you had to check the manual to find out why the motherboard was beeping? If he built PCs “back in the day” he wouldn’t be afraid to open a modern PC to check inside or at least clean it out. But he’s terrified of it. The concept is the same as it was 20 years ago, it’s just way easier. The nugget of truth is that maybe he set up a LAN, possibly added a RAM stick which everyone including my dad did in the 90s because that’s how you upgraded a PC back then, and maybe added an external hard drive which my boomer dad also did.
Yeah, I call bullshit on that - the same guy that can't advance through a stupid game or do anything on his setup without the chat handholding him through the process (and still fucking up) working on his computer back in the days when the idea of Plug And Play was more of a bitter joke than the reality. I mean, back then even compatible hardware quite often didn't actually work stably without a lot of extra effort and skill (hence the rise and then fall of the system builders in every town/neighbourhood), so Philbert being able to do it based on what he's shown now is just not likely. Now, what is semi-possible is that the Pigroach cried to mommy and daddy enough that they hired some poor soul had to build a PC for their little hellspawn, with his "involvement" in the PC building process being his casual begging and whining, only to a smaller set of paypigs to get him what he wants XD
I just had a thought a day ago that DSP is becoming stale and maybe it is about time for the final arc - finding a real job / doing something about WWE champions. And then he said he is gonna build legos on stream... I guess it is just another plotpoint in the snortex and we are all numb to the absurdities of DSP, but this one kinda hit me differently. The desperation is reaching new levels for him to do another children's entertainer gimmick like building legos. Really hope to see the lego stream happen cause that was 100% a detractor idea and it is really great to see phil flail so desperately to get back the money he thinks he deserves.
You left out that weird and embarrassing interaction of his widow asking Hearthstone to give her his old account and then the person that took over the account saying "I agree, they should" And, Atlus, you're talking to someone who thinks the dealership should have contacted him over an oil change. So naturally if the homeworld doesn't contact him he's gonna forget to do the maintenance on his skinsuit.
DSP is the kind of guy who would buy a 3rd party external fan for his Xbox 360 and say that it’s cooling the console by dozens of degrees. And I find it ironic that the guy building Legos is too afraid to reseat RAM at a time where people call computer components “Legos for adults”.
As someone who previously has done Lego based streaming, this hurts me inside. Also, he has no skills that would benefit him while trying to interact with chat and follow intricate instructions at the same time.
OK, after seeing Phil's "Lego announcement" or whatever, this will be hilarious. The Zelda set is $300. It also is a 2-in-1, meaning there will be a ton of pieces that don't get used, depending on which version you choose. So he will A) try and somehow monetize which version he builds B) not be able to follow the simple instructions, do something wrong that will impact the set further along, and C) complain endlessly about how the set is a rip off, because of all the pieces he will probably just flush down the toilet
