Virgil’s reason for betraying his brother: To beat and prove he’s better that his brother. Dante, If their positions were switched: To simply troll his brother.
No lie, I think Nero's head model could be swapped out to look more like Dante here. (Only saying that because the red coat... Could be illuding to him being Dante's spawn in this offshoot. XD
@@noyan7171 Nah Vergil would just pretend that Nero is Dante's kid so that he can keep dodging that child support payment. Finally Nero meets alt Dante and finds out that Vergil was his Dad after all. That would prompt spinoff vergil to run off to hell with spinoff dante to dodge child support.... I mean fight demons.
V was a human manifestation that Vergil wants to discard, he was shown as gloomy, and weak. D, if Dante ever wishes to discard it, I think his human version would act crazy and be wild, but try to live an honest life. What's best of Dante was actually him embracing his "human" side. Him being a demi-devil and human won't be far off, the difference would only be human limitation (aka power)
@@yogiefebriady3073 With switched positions means the "saved" one takes the position of the "abandoned" one. The "abandoned" one developes Inferiority Complex as result of the trauma of surviving the demon attack at their home and relies on Demon Heritage for survival. *Vergil + Inferiority Complex* = Cold, Controlling, Solitare, Merciless, Distant. *Dante + Inferiority Complex* = Impulsive, Agressive, Arrogant, Sadistic, Dominant. *Demon Vergil* "Urizen" = Controlling, Merciless, sees himself as the most powerful, looks down on everything. *Human Vergil* "V" = Gloomy, Indifferent, Weak, Relunctantly relies in others Overall *Goth Teen* Energy. Therefore: *Demon Dante* "Satan?"= Sadistic & Dominant, likes to prove Superiority by going out of his way to make his victims feel helpless. Similar to Grimmjow from Bleach. *Human Dante* "D?"= Rebellish, Impulsive, Arrogant, Overcompensating, Challenges everyone despite human weakness, Overall *Punk Teen* Energy like Reboot Version.
@@anomalous5549 that's kind of the point i was making, i said that since dante only fought nero twice he didn't have much (if anything) to teach him, so vergil probably wouldn't also teach him anything in that time window.
@@glizzynator5258 to be fair, anime Dante is like set after the first game, he probably is sad about he killing vergil thing, still better than DMC2 dante
It would be nice if they made a spin off game where they were switched. I like to think Vergil's desire for power wouldn't change but he wouldn't be consumed by it either. I think he'd still have travelled around searching for strength and still would've fathered Nero in the process but would've been aware of his existence especially if Vergil has Morrison as a contact. I imagine Dante would've been much like he was in 3 except he just downright hates everything and became a much more chaotic thrill seeker caring for nothing and no one even himself and as a result causes a mass of destruction wherever he goes due to constant fighting with demons. Question is though, would Dante still have Ebony and Ivory cause if not I like to think he just carries a whole arsenal of weapons with him then like Lady does.
I suggest you to watch a video analysis about how if Dante and Vergil switched their fate by Champion Analysis. He made the analysis in psychological perspective and made a fan made video story about it.
I thought about this when I first saw this scene. If their roles were reversed, the main and probably only difference that would happen would be them swapping motives. Their personalities would likely remain very much the same, with the exception of Dante seeking power to protect himself and Vergil accepting his humanity. I think that would make a good spinoff game actually, Dante as a cocky megalomaniac and Vergil as the cool headed protagonist. Dante might be on a power high quest to kill Mundus for vengeance, or maybe one of those generic anime villains that cause mayhem just because they're powerful enough to get away with things (he is extremely hot headed after all).
I feel like Alternate Vergil would be similar to DMC2 Dante, a serious yet calm bounty hunter who cracks jokes on occasion, but still maintains that "Lone Wolf" demeanor. Alternate Dante would most likely mirror that of DINO (Dmc: Devil May Cry) but with a much better attitude and less swearing. A cocky yet wild swordsman who has a short temper and prefers an honorable duel rather than a style contest. Nero on the other hand, will be the semi-normal offspring of Dante. Still a cocky and brash warrior, but having Vergil's calm sense of mental fortitude, a bit similar to his current self in DMC 5. With a few minor differences (Such as wanting to embrace the chaotic, freestyle nature of Dante's younger self.)
Vergil: No more portals, Dante. The Yamato. Hand it over. Dante: Come and try to take it then. But I bet you knew that, right? Vergil: Indeed. Dante: We fought a great deal growing up, huh? How long has that been? Vergil: That's a difficult question. That's the only memories we have together. No matter. Let's end this rivalry. -------------------------------------------------------- Dante: That dead weight's my kid?! Vergil: Yes. Your son. My nephew. Dante: Crazy. That was quite some time ago. Vergil: Whatever the matter, it's about time we... Dante: ...end the party?
@@enuggz Urizen: No. No! I need power. More power! D: Same here, old friend. We are quite the same in this matter of speaking. Connected. Like the roots of an old tree. _________________________________ Dante: You can't fight me like this, Vergil. It's meaningless. Vergil: This is our battle, Dante. Dante: Heal yourself up then hit the gym. After that, we can duke it out all you want. Dante knocks Vergil back. Dante makes a portal with the Yamato. He looks back at Nero. Dante: Thanks for the help, kid. Dante walks through the portal as it disappears. Nero: If that's Dante, what happened to D? Vergil: The two became one again. You should leave now, Nero. This is not your endeavor. Vergil walks away. Nero follows. Nero: Like hell. I lost my right arm because of him. Vergil: I understand, Nero, but I'm the only one that can match him. Nero: I'm not letting you have all the fun, Vergil! Vergil stops and turns around. Vergil: You're ignorant, boy! Nero: Let me guess. Cause I'm dead weight? You can shove that up your- Vergil: You're wrong, Nero! Nero: WHAT IS IT THEN?! Vergil: HE'S YOUR FATHER! Nero: ... What...? Vergil: I should have realized it myself the first time I saw you. But we were too focused on that priest of yours. Then I saw how you wielded the Yamato to defeat him. Then I was right about him being your father. Dante needs to be put in his place. But I can't loose my nephew in this mess as well. Vergil walks away. Nero stays put. Nero: My father...?
@@legohunter1020 "Y'know, I do have to wonder... if our places were swapped that day... would we have each other's lives? Would I be the human, and you the devil? *sigh* ...I guess it doesn't matter anymore. Let's end this. Vergil."
So personally I think a fate swapped Vergil and Dante would still roughly have the same personalities and fighting styles. Vergil would still be a power obsessed weeb , but he seeks power to protect others. While Dante would just be a full on "nothing matters" blood knight. So basically Noble Samurai vs whacky Khornite.
Well, let me, a Vergil enjoyer, introduce myself and ask: isn't Vergil's whole point throughout the series to gain his father - Sparda's - power in order to protect what's dear to him? Ever since his trauma was exactly not only about his mother saving Dante first (Vergil didn't know she went after him and ended up being eaten by the flames), but more importantly that neither their father, nor him could save his mother? Isn't that really his primary grief that motivated him to search for power?
1:20 Ok, this looks beyond badass. I kinda wish Vergil returned with his hair down looking exactly like Dante and them put his hair up like he did in DMC3. Not only a great nod to DMC3, but the scene would be so much better showing newcomers this is Dante's twin.
Holy crap you're right, he should've swipe his hair up in that shot! that's actually a missed opportunity, it would be an ultimate callback of DMC3, also considering V's hair were down at first too!
Probably even worse than Vergil actually You gotta consider that Vergil only did what he did cause he thought he wasn't strong enough to protect his family or himself. A Dante with the same mindset and his original sense of humor would be a much more twisted version of Vergil
This scene *seriously* popped into my head randomly at work today. And then this popped up on my feed after work. Very weird. 😅 Thanks for posting this, I suppose 🖤
Switched Vergil: Wacky woohoo motivation man. Switched Dante: Foolishness Vergil, foolishness. Pizza is everything, and without extra cheese you can't feed anyone. Let alone yourself! On a serious note though, if they had switched I imagine Vergil would act more like V. Still desiring power but not completely obsessed with it, and although he still finesses all his enemies, he's not shy to give a little trash talk in his own classy way.
both actually still look pretty kickass either way..but in this parallel universe it actually means if vergil was found and dante wasn’t,vergil would’ve stayed and actually raised his son..it has become a story of a father and son defeating the father’s evil younger brother
I think if they switch place, nothing much will change. Their core remains the same. Vergil will still obsess getting power to protect humanity while Dante will be cocky demon hunter who doesn't give a damn about humanity. Now here's the funny thing: Vergil probably wonders around because he wants more power and it will still lead him to Fortuna to investigate Order of the Sword. He still conceives Nero in the end 😂
Even if their positions were switched that day.. I'm specifically talking about Vergil being at home instead of Dante, and Dante being at the cemetery instead of Vergil and everything else staying constant.. Shouldn't Dante still have the Rebellion and Vergil the Yamato?..
If switched: Vergil - the silent/traumatized protagonist searching for power to be like his father and prevent his brother from destroying the world Dante - the villain who embraced his chaotic and demonic nature for the purpose of doing whatever he wants Nero -still Vergil's son, but is unaware when he meets Vergil in DMC4 and thinks Vergil is a family friend Lady - works with Vergil and is pretty much his one of his only friends Trish - Dante's side piece and a minor antagonist
Im actually kinda upset we dont see Vergil with his hair down when he first shows up. Urizen didnt have hair and V’s hair wasnt slicked back, so why was Vergil’s? It wouldve been cool having this first scene between the brothers show them as the identical twins they are.
If they had swapped places, I feel like Dante would still be a smug and witty prick Vergil would probably be more like a more serious Dante, but still playful and witty enough to be fun-
You know out of all the videos I've seen of scenarios where Dante and Virgil would have such places, this video is probably the most accurate representation
Vergil looks like someone who belongs in Final Fantasy Nero looks like the dude who went to a party and is now caught up in the end of the world after 5 glasses Dante looks like a boss in castlevania
Well Dante is a battle junkies. It either become something like reboot where he just wander around killing whoever need to and just survive or whatever fanfic just make him Crazy Vergil.
It looks so weird, trying to think like this is like imagining if Vegeta was sent to earth to live there and Goku is living like a sayin on Freiza's ship
