$4.50 cents for two bags of groceries! Well, you can knock me down with a feather. Where is that grocery store, Monday is my day to go shopping - I can save a lot of money there.

Median income in 1969 was $9400. Yes, you'll get lower prices, but you'll also be making a whole lot less money than you are now. That's inflation for ya!

What a great episode. I loved the message at the end. Sadly we're not there yet, but with enough idealists like Ann maybe we can get there soon.

If you were my age you’d realize “not gonna happen.” Too much $$$ in the grift. I equate it to what my mother told me in the mid fifties about a cure for cancer, “too much $$$ in not finding a cure.” All they have now is more variations (most likely making them) and more $$$ than ever.

@@petegregory517 If we all take that attitude of course nothing will change! We all need to fight racism and other ills. Look at all the good that has come out of St. Jude's Hospital because Danny and now Marlo Thomas believe cures can be found.

This idea is horrifying and I hope it's not true. However, I can see how it might be true. Trying to keep despair at bay.

Terry Carter as the dad....he later played Sgt. Joe Broadhurst on the television series McCloud and as Colonel Tigh on the original Battlestar Galactica. Was also a filmmaker. He lived to be 95, recently passed on April 24, 2024.
