Welcome back to KiaSS! In this episode, I meet with my good friend and ex-Formula 1 driver Max Chilton - to talk about a little project that he's got involved in... A little project that also smashes records! The McMurtry Spéirling is the all-electric, all-British hypercar that recently kicked up a storm when it broke the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hill Climb record!

yes, another run in the McMurtry! Im going to guess their telemetry showed they had performance to spare if did it again because they used a "conservative tuneup" on the run to get the record.

@@blaze1148 I'm sure it would be fantastic. Look at the way it handled Goodwood. The hill climb route is narrow, cambered tarmac. I believe the McMurtry would beat the lap record at the Ring by a minute.

Watching this years Goodwood livestream I was absolutely gobsmacked like many seeing what Max achieved in this McMurtry Spéirling. Borrowing very similar principle to the Gordon Murray Brabham BT46 Fan car but paired with a monstrous Electric powertrain & lightweight this car has changed my opinion on EV's. This is the way to do it & it is a credit to the team. Wanting to see & learn more , this was a great insight & enjoyable chat between Max & yourself, I can't wait to see what the future brings with McMurtry.

You've done it again Jodie, another brilliant episode of KiaSS! I became a bit of a fan of Max during his time in the Indy Car, always felt he was under rated. After all you don't come 3rd at the 500 without bringing proper game to the table. I'd not seen the McMurtry close up and throughly enjoyed your chat with Max going over the car. @@Incommensurabilities Max was driving an Electric Pope Waverly. Not sure of the age, but it must have been pre 1905. This car had a tiller instead of a steering wheel.

I stopped in to gaze at the two McLaren F1s and the Agnelli Testarossa Spyder in the background but was really swept up by this car. The F1 is well known for having a small footprint, so to see the McMurtry next to it really put its size into context. A truly amazing, thoughtfully designed car!
