Molly, this is amazing! I love it! The colors on the black side are gorgeous and the colors in the white side look very Mother of Pearl or an oyster shell! Beautiful!
Molly, I ❤❤ this painting! You discovered SO much, and the design is really cool! The iridescent white side DOES look like the reflection of a kid's soap bubble when blowing them, and the thing I like on the dark side is the tool deconstructing the round pools! You used the tool in waves and circles and lines, and changed the entire way the pools of paint would react when you stretched them! I also thought the diagonal design was fresh and worked super well with this painting. I was very excited to watch this unfold, thank you! FUN!
I didn't think I'd like the white side on this I generally like bright colours in my home - but you know what it would be really cool as a show off piece to turn the lights on and see if anyone noticed the colours there - I def 💙 that blue through the middle - again could you do stripes of white and black as a background then puddle the colours? You're laughter is so infectious I smile through all your videos - ❤ the photo of you + your hubby too thankyou Mr Molly for allowing us to see it. 😊
I love the accidental black lines through the white. You can see the veins of black through the white. Maybe there's something you can try. Do white base pearl paints and fine black lines 😁 Love ya work, it's always fun watching you and seeing your experiments come to life ❤
Seeing how that blue looks in the middle where the black and white come together, makes me want to see a white back ground with black puddles and the pearls puddled on top of the black ones. Then wrecked and stretched. I think if you get that same effect it could be super neat looking.
In the center, that bright blue on the dark side with the white wrecked line through it - that's my favorite part. Your right (our left) apron pocket paint stains are really pretty! 😃
I love the play difference between the backgrounds. It's really different and beautiful. In the black background you can see butterfly. So it looks like they traveled through a special color aura
The white side is super cool when dried! Might be cool to do the whole white side and do a swipe with white... let it dry and then do something with that... Hmm ideas.
Of course you would be accepted to Artigras again! They would be crazy not to have you back! I would LOVE it if you did another vlog for set up, during and/or after (or all of the above;). Love your experiments 💚
I like this a lot. Wicked experiment!! ❤ The contrast is incredible and the ying-yang feel is really soothing. Oh! Not sure if you noticed what you actually created on the white side... That's sooooo 'Mother of Pearl'.😮 Well done!! ❤🎉
This is fantastic. I love it… so many cool ideas running through my head. Wouldn’t the pearl paints be beautiful on some dark blues? Or even a dark turquoise? Wonder if that would work??
Hi Molly! I don't know if you tried it yet or not, but I wonder if you put a smaller dot of black on the white background and pour each of the pearl paints on top of each of the black dots - would that help bring out the color brightness and perhaps a bit of depth? I haven't tried it myself - Asking your thoughts 🙂 - Thank you for sharing yourself and your art with us all! Big Fan!
Thanks! I have over 300 different videos of various techniques. I have just been experimenting with these lately. You can go to my playlist to see all the different techniques i do.
This is awesome Molly, I have really enjoyed your experiments…..so fun! I wonder how it would turn out…if when wrecking the white side you dip the “tool” in black paint to wreck. I doubt I explained that very well🤦🏻♀️
Molly, what if you started with a black canvas, then pour white over it, then puddle the Pearl paints…? I like how the colors are lighter in the center then darken at the edges.
Love Love Love❤. As always youre my favorite! Can you share what you used for the black and white base? I have watched the mixing videos from a couple years ago. Youre a happy scientist 😂
Hello. Great video. I think it would be cool if you ninja swipe the white side into the black side and the black side into the white side. What do you think ?
When you went from black to white with the skewer tool thingy, it created like a spiderweb design that was really cool! It got a bit wonkyfied when you stretched and tilted but that turned it into the marble effect which is really pretty. The dried result actually was super pretty, the white base is so cool, I love that iridescent sheen of colour. When you got your head scratcher did you get a single one or a multipack? (I got mine in a pack of 4 from Amazon) If you have spares maybe try cutting the balls off of the end of the prongs? It won't be super skinny like the skewer but also not as chunky as with the balls on the ends. Or another thing I found works well is a chopstick or candy floss/cotton candy stick which is the same sort of size and shape as the handle of a chopstick and can be bought in a bag of around 25+ very cheaply. It doesn't have the more rounded end like a chopstick does though and they don't have a finish to them so chopsticks are easier to clean off and reuse. I'm hoping to try the marble technique at some point when I have more space to paint as that looked like tons of fun.
Thank you! Yes i like thay spider web effect too! The pearls on the white are super cool! I only got one, a viewer, sent it to me. But a friend just sent me another set of comes to use! Cant wait to try them out! Oh yes the marble technique is a lot of fun for sure! Thanks again!
I"m using pearlescent paints. The brand I am using is Amsterdam Brand, but there are others as well. I bought them from dick blick. I mix them with floetrol and gloss medium varnish here. There are many different ways to create cells, I explain it all in my course - smartartcourses.com/swipe-technique/?fbclid=IwAR1SHjyN7WXCcftQC9xEvxUkPDo89PoddIdZYcA-2IKUvUQ-wZn7i2vlzsA . I can't explain it all in detail in the comments as it's a bit involved, sorry. Also, check out my YT channel, I have lots of free tutorials! Thanks!
