Metal detecting at a colonial cellar hole and I had two surprises today.
Finding old coins with s metal detector is always amazing but when it is from the 1700s it is a total rush. I was digging a lot of nails cleaning this site up when out pops a big copper coin. A Massachusetts state coin from 1788 ! yup a Mass copper in all its glory was six feet away from where I found the 1774 half reale on the last visit. Then towards the end of the digging day I figured I would flip this big rock over and swing under it but when I did I saw EYEBALLS ! watch and find out.

Love the yellow spotted salamander! The first time I found one when digging a new garden bed, it was so still, I thought it was a child's toy!

At 2:40 it appears that a coin was left in the pile of dirt right next to the reddish brown leaf. Something has a round curve. I spotted it on my 50" TV. That part of the pile wasn't checked before going into the hole.

Nice, same here in the jungle growth of Okinawa, I even bring in a rake sometimes, just to clear everything thing out in a high possibility area and have a totally clean area around stone wall areas Keep it up

Never let your machine fool you. I had two different signals once. Steel and bing. Two inches below a axe head was a Connecticut copper

Coin is in great condition and was lost practically new and didn't see much circulation. It also wasn't exposed to harsh chemicals and fertilizers like coins found in old farmfields.

Congratulations mate on that penny. Dug condition $200. I have seen mint state sell for $64k. There are 2 varieties No period and one with period. Small mark on the right side of the Obverse side of the coin, bottom right by the grippingarrows... PCGS has some great examples.

That salamander was so still, I thought it was a rubber toy😮! Hey, from Kansas! I'm a new subscriber! My husband and I just started today but the ground is so dry here, I broke our shovel 😭.
