This was my wife's song. She passed in 2021. I think of her everytime I hear this. Our first date was going to the Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet Tour concert in Cleveland, Ohio 1987
Jon Bon Jovi once gave a perfect response to a reporter who questioned his creativity for not changing up his music during live shows. He said that the songs aren't just his-they belong to his fans. He doesn’t have the right to steal their memories by altering them. Those classic hits hold special places in people's lives, and he respects that by delivering them just as fans remember. It's about honoring the connection and nostalgia his audience has with the music. That’s why Bon Jovi has stood the test of time!
The blonde in the first verse, his guitar. The mistress in theast verse, is the stage. She calls him to be in her spotlight. He won't be alone, the fans, but he's still lonely
Jon Bon Jovi was very smart, he was the only one that had the recording contract out of the band, he paid his band as employees, he made them all philthy Rich. He went through the 80s pretty much sober, and handled his business as if it was a business. While most of the other 80s bands just squandered all their earnings and partied really hard. He has some really catchy hits, one of those guys that had at least one song that everybody liked.
I know it's unusual for a drummer to give a guitarist a complement, but Richie Sambora is one of my favs. His feel for each song is amazing, never overplays even though he has the chops. He's all about adding exactly what the song needs, dude is unreal.
This is one of my favorites. When I was younger I would go to a friend's house to listen to the guys jam and play songs. One of the guys is now playing with Bon Jovi. He put up a guitar video of him playing on RU-vid. Bon Jovi contacted him and the rest is history. This also reminds me of what I did for a woman that I believe to be the ultimate woman for me. I went out and bought 3 dozen roses and de-thorned them. I put one dozen in a vase. Then the rest I put in a horse shoe shape on my pillow and bed. She came over to my place and I told her to close her eyes and picked her up and carried her into my room and put her down in a bed of roses. The look in her eyes was priceless when she saw the rose. Very special moment. Thanks for your reaction videos. Have a great day.
Aileen you never half to apologize for speaking your mind that's why we are here to see how the music makes you feel and think. Keep up the great work Aileen hope you are having a great day ❤️
This was “Our song” when it came out in 1992. The “Blonde” in his bed is a metaphor for his Gibson guitar. His “Mistress” calling him to be in the spotlight is the stage to play another concert.
Bon Jovi is amazing! There's a few that I recommend. "Lay Your Hands On Me," (official video), "This Ain't A Love Song" (video), "You Give Love a Bad Name." If you want to see a live performance, I recommend "Dry County" Live at Wembley 1995, "Always" from Wembley, 1995, or "Keep The Faith" Giants Stadium, 2001. Great reactions!
*Jon Bon Jovi said in an interview about this music video, that initially the video directors wanted him to be on the mountain tops, but he said : "I was on top of a mountain in "Blaze Of Glory", send them.".......a wise decision, the visual result still looks spectacular and didn't lost any coolness over all these years [ "Bed Of Roses" was released as a single in January 1993 and was taken from BON JOVI 's 1st comeback-album "KEEP THE FAITH" [ another banger (track & video)], which was released in November 1992.* 🎵🎸🎹🥁🎸🎵💿📀📺🔥😈🔥
Great reaction to a great song! As a kid in the 1980's, Bon Jovi became my first favourite band and they were also my first concert I ever attended back in 1994 at 14 years old. A couple of my personal favourite Bon Jovi songs are "Bad Medicine" and "Raise your Hands". 🍻🤘
I sang this at karaoke a few weeks ago and nailed it. First time I ever got a standing ovation at karaoke. That must be how real musicians must feel when they perform.
When I watched this band live, EVERYONE lit their lighters and put up their phone lights. This was a deep moment, and Jon dedicated it to his wife, with whom he had celebrated his 20th anniversary with just a few months beforehand. it was the first time I cried at a concert, and it wouldn't be the last... Thanks for reacting to this, it brought back great memories.
Bed of Roses is a classic ballad. As always, another great reaction. If you continue on your Bon Jovi journey I would recommend Dry County, it's another great song with some brilliant guitar work. Keep up the great work, much love.
Hi Aileen 😊 Fantastically awesome reaction to Bon Jovi's Bed of Roses 😊👍 Yes, we will absolutely take the blame for sending you this great music 😊 I echo the sediments of other RU-vidrs by saying the reason we enjoy your reactions is because you're real and you express your feelings and we don't mind how long you talk because you are enjoying our music for the first time just like we did way back when so we enjoy your reactions and that's why we love you😊 Keep up the good work you're awesome 😊👍 All of the recommendations for Bon Jovi reactions by you are fantastic plus other artists recommendations too😊 I will enjoy your reactions to all of them 😊 Have a great day you and Arya 😊👍
There was one moment there that made me think it was definitely a rocky prop in front of a screen for the mountain shots I do love this song; one of my favourites by them
My favorite Bon Jovi song is one that almost no one talks about "Miracle". This song is a poignant reflection on the struggles and the need for hope in the face of adversity. The lyrics convey a sense of weight and burden, as if the protagonist is carrying the world on their shoulders, a conmmon metaphor for feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges. The song speaks to the human condition, the search for meaning, and the desire for a miraculous intervention in difficult times. It's so good 👍🤓👌
What brings me back to this channel...is the heartfelt reactions. I like the appreciation for artistry. I think youd like...thank u for loving me by bon jovi.
We used to hear this at the skating rink in the early 90's, and just DREAM about a love that made us feel like the song does. I'm gonna sound like an old lady for a minute, but I wish music was still made like this. Beautifully arranged, but so honest and vulnerable.
Thank you. I’ve watched several of your reactions, picking songs that I always loved. Without fail, your reactions cause my eyes to well up…..so cool that someone feels it like we all do.
I have a song in mind my wife and i listen to that is so personal to my wife and myself. I am a 6ft 5in 270 llb construction worker ( GUYS ARE NO SUPPOSED TO CRY ) But this song is so personal to our familiy and friends. The song is done by Martina Mc Bride and the song is Concrete Angel. I know you are super busy, but hearing you react to this video that is true around the world, You may ball like we do all through the song. I hope you can react to this song that needs to be heard. I don't want to give it away about the song , but our daughter was bed ridden and couldn't say what was happening to her. We had a live-in nurse/caretaker just for her. This nurse was the devil. What she did to our poor little girl was only came out of horror stories My wife and i blame ourselves still and it happened 2 years ago. Always give your kids a huge and kiss before bed !!! You might never get another chance
When you return to Bon Jovi I would humbly request you listen to either “It’s My Life” or “Living on a Prayer”. You will enjoy them immensely! Loving your channel!!
It's Richie Sambora in the mountain. Jon said he already did that for Blaze of Glory video, so he said send Richie. Jon Bon Jovi wrote the song "Bed of Roses" in a hotel room while hungover, and the lyrics reflect his feelings at the time. The song was first featured on Bon Jovi's 1992 album Keep the Faith and was released as a single on January 11, 1993. The song is 6:33 long on the album and 5:05 long in the edit.
No, they brought the mountain to the studio and hoisted the band up. They were glued to the mountain for health and safety reasons. The mountain was then returned to it's original position. Glad to help 😜
If you ever get the chance you should check out the acoustic album This Left Feels Right. I bought the album in 2004 for my birthday thinking it was a greatest hits album. I was pretty irritated when I realized it was an acoustic album with much slower versions of all of their songs. Over the years it's became my favorite performance(s) for most of the songs.
I never realized this before (after nearly 40 years of listening) Bon Jovi sounds like Tom Wait. Anywho, every hair band in the 80s did a ballad or a few...Bon Jovi, LA Guns, Poison, White Lion, Whitesnake, Tesla, Ratt, Van Halen, etc. I think it was mandatory by the MTV demons, or that could just be my belief.
Without knowing for sure, my guess is they actually filmed for real on that mountain peak. This was the 90s, MTV was still in full swing, and record labels still spent a fair buck on music videos. So they would have flown there in a helicopter, and then filmed from the same helicopter.
Hi there. Thank you so much for doing this one. I love Bon Jovi and pretty much any song that they do. LOL Just a suggestion and only for yourself so it doesn’t have to be for your video channel but you might want to check out the song called “ blaze of glory” in that one Jon actually does all the instruments himself. I don’t know if you have done it on your show so it’s just a suggestion for yourself really. Please take care and thank you once again. Blessings to you from the UK. 🇬🇧
Aileen, the outdoor shots in the mountains are real, it was a promotional video for the movie "Young Guns" and "Young Guns 2". Bon Jovi wrote and performed the soundtrack for both Movies
Some of the best lyricism ever in a rock song: "I wanna be just as close as the Holy Ghost is," "With an ironclad fist I wake up and French kiss the morning," "I'm so far away each step that I take's on my way home," "Tonight I won't be alone but you know that don't mean I'm not lonely." Beautiful. Now you need to hear some pure fun, upbeat Bon Jovi: You Give Love a Bad Name or Bad Medicine fits the bill.
For some good rocking hits from Bon Jovi, you have to listen to "Living On A Prayer", a rock classic anthem. Also check "Bad Medicine", "You Give Love A Bad Name", and "Lay Your Hands On Me." For similar type ballads, check "Always", and "I'll Be There For You"
LOL "How'd they get a piano up there?" Pst.... you can do anything with enough money!😁 Loved your reaction Aileen, most bands in the 70s and 80s had a variety of different style songs on their albums. Almost all did at least one ballad. Made sense to pull in the romantics for album sales. They were hit makers also.
Bon Jovi's best songs came out once the hair era ended and they tranistioned into the raw sound of the 90s. Keep The Faith is their best work for me, and to a degree These Days. You should listen to their masterpiece called Dry County.
he did the solo's up there in answer to the slash solo in november rain LOL but yeah they were actually up there i believe they got flown in on a helicopter
Came out when i had my first girlfriend. A lot of Bon Jovi was played when we were alone together. Also, listen to the low licks Richie is playing, love them so much. The high one is obvious, but especially when he plays it low, thats so cool. Slash and Richie, the reasons that made me pick up guitar. I also wanted to stand on top of a mountain with a hat and sound that good while my guitar isn't even plugged in.
A couple Bon Jovi recommendations: Living on a Prayer Bad Medicine It's My Life Never Say Goodbye It's always great to see you explore the music we grew up with. Cheers!
