Definitely, my childhood in 90s was awesome, no phones, we used to play outdoor games. Everyone wants to go back to their childhood. Memories and Memories. Ufff.
@Jessy Mars We grew up to worse...we grew up to ugly things....we grew up to an unsafe country for children....we grew up to the worst phase of socio economic scenario...we grew up to be deceived...to be lied to....we grew up to a country I'm not proud to be a citizen of,anymore....we never wanted all these...that music is not just a music...that music that logo were the symbol of a peaceful prosperous country....that music is associated with our fearless childhood which we can not ensure for our children...Yes we are adults... we are nostalgic....those days when there was no shopping mall,no mobile phones no laptops no metro train no ac at home no car.....we had only one pencil box until we lost that we never used to get another...still we were happy...with simple clothes...simple food...simple living....we had values...that is why we still feel that vaccum....after all that we achieved...we feel an emptiness in everything...because...truly madly and deeply we are not happy in this new country...in this new materialistic world..
@Wiki Illustrate Ancient glory?I got it...who you are...what you do behind your fake name...everything....there's no point in talking to blind shadows like you.each and every sensible person in this country will agree with me....not with you...I do not want another baseless reply from your end...Do what you do so diligently....false propaganda....Do not disturb our sensibility.
Do you know? This signature tune for Doordarshan was composed by Pt. Ravi Shankar by just decreasing the tempo of the tune of Saare Jahaan Se Achha (the tune for which was also composed by him)!!! 🙏☺️
I still remember when my father was buy black and white TV with shuttering... any one know that time electronic shops gave TV stand with wooden TV cover with shutter... any one seen that or remember
I was born in 1971. I grew up on black and white television. News and serials without ad breaks. TV sets with a 'Hold' knob. The Doordarshan signature tune transported me back to my childhood. How gloriously simple and innocent were those days!
@Ashish Khandeparkar: Bro, I am born in 1971 as well. And I can relate every word of what you wrote. Those days, then "Thalak Batmya", Friday evening with "Chitrahaar" and the 9 o' clock news in Hindi with Sarla Maheshwari and English with Neeti Ravindran :).. kya din the woh!
@@MadhuVMenon-nasskobar-maxx I was born in 1975.. I love doordarshan.. I love 80s n 90s.. But the present day scenario is getting worse n worse in every avenue...🙅♂
@@sanjaysurya6840 My wife is 1975 born :) Perhaps she likes DD too (not sure). Nowadays, Star Plus and some other local channels rule her viewing time.
Doordarshan is an emotion, only 90's kid can understand. How did we wait for Shaktimaan, Malgudi Days, Byomkesh Bakshi...none of current kids can understand.
Just that sound reminds me of how I was so proud of my country. I felt those were the days this country was ONE. And I hate the same country today thanks to our divisive politicians and toxic society. Miss you Hindustan
It all started 52 years ago, on 15 September 1959. With a humble beginning and a little support from All India Radio. Doordarshan (DD) started its transmission and gave birth to Indian Television. When we think about Doordarshan the first thing that comes in our mind is the sad signature tune which would play before the transmission every Morning, Afternoon & Evening Sessions. Similar to the AIR Signature tune, the Doordarshan's Signature Tune is embedded in our minds till it got a setback due to the upsurge of Cable television in the early '90s. This Nostalgic piece of music was composed by Ustad Ali Ahmed Hussain Khan with Pandit Ravi Shankar in 1974. The tune is a rendition of the song "Saare Jahan See Achha". In 1976 the “DD eye” logo was designed by NID alumnus Devashis Bhattacharyya; Prime Minister Indira Gandhi picked his design from NID submissions. In the next two decades from the early '80s to the mid-'90s, Doordarshan produced some of the finest serials on Indian Television. The people born in that generation when there was no other channel than DD will & definitely do miss it. This slow mournful Signature Tune has become a cherished memory for generations of Indians all across the world. Yea people say everyone says their childhood was the best golden age but I seriously believe this was the pinnacle for India 80s/90s- people were happy, they had time, things were affordable, every festival was celebrated by everyone. The weather you could smell, hear and taste it. It was just heavenly. Now its greed, hatred, capitalism, no bonds or leisure time. It wont ever be the same.
Lol thats because that everyone are the people who are adults and thus are in high number than anyone.. You cant say anything to justify you nostalgia..
jo life aur zindgi jo khel hamne khele ...aaj ke log wo soch bhi nahi sakte ..aaj mobile par gandgi dekhne me time pass hota hai unka//ye music aaj bhi yaad hai jab chota tha to shaam ke samay 4 baje ya 5 baje ke aas paas tv par chalta tha...kasam se ye sunte hi rona aa jata hai ....kas wo hi zindgi fir se laut aaye
Oh, you miss that wounderful tune. Each and every house in a locality create the same tune, and all of us rush towards the television set. Most of the household TV sets were black & white those days. Wounderful times was that.
I was a kid, well this was the time of 90's when we used to wake up to get ready for school and tune up to doordarshan T.V. while that period of time and as soon as it used to play this song, our minds used to wake up. even if it was a black and white T.V., it is still there in my heart. One among my childhood memories. One of my love. I wish I could live those days again.
Even a depressing tune like this managed to put a smile on people's faces those days. In summer holidays we used to literally wait for the afternoon transmission which used to start in uncertain timings :D We used to put the TV on with that dots screen and keep staring at it and this tune would bring joy on our faces.
Doordharshan of 80's and 90's had very good quality programs. World this week, Surabhi, Humlog, Karamchand Shanti are all cannot be forgotten. How many watched mile sur mera tumara featuring celebs from all over India. Those days were magical. Even current Doordharshan programs cannot come close to them.
Yes.We all would sit together and watch news, serials, movies and those wonderful ads. There was togetherness. How wonderful.Thankyou for reminding me of those good old days.
Wow bilkul SAHEE Bola Aap nay We had the only tv in our whole area so Saturday and Sunday our home was HOUSEFULL ........ OUR NABOURS WERE ALL IN OUR HOME ..... THOSE DAYS ..... JUNGLE JUNGLE BAAT CHALEE HAIN PATA CHALA HAIN .... CHADII PAHEN KAY PHOOL KHILA HAIN PHOOL KHILA HAIN ..... SORRY TOOK TOO LONG JUST WAS AMAZING
Sir, the golden era for young and old people , who turn 55 60 by this time.. every one ..dd started 1980_81 and at the peak at 85 86 with ramayan and mahabharat ..a lot of TV serial nukkad , ye jo he jindagi .etc .nd on Wed Friday we wait for songs..chitrahaar,and movies to be announced for Sat and Sunday...only TV channel and with greatest pleasure of life ..in mohalla the person having TV was having special social value and respect ...great time with real value of social life !!! God bless all!! Sarve bhavantu sukhinah!
Growing up in the 80s and 90s seems so quaint now! You actually had to wait for your favorite tv show to come on every week. Can you imagine in today’s world of on-demand instant gratification…..I miss our old black and white tv, waiting for the tv to warm up, fiddling with the rooftop aerial (antenna) and accompanying my dad to buy our first color tv manufactured by the electronics corporation (EC) of India….
Although, I was born in 1997, so technically I am 2000s kid, but this music and dd's shows like chitrahar and rangoli have deep impressions in my memory. Whenever I come across this dd stuff all my childhood memories get "F5"ed!
I m 83 born and I must say life was different back then literally all out door games no internet no tv channels except doordarshan that too for few hours daily. Chitrahar was my favourite every Sunday morning. 😔 Time flew
I remember in the 90's when I was still a kid, would wait for shakti maan, Aryan, junior-G and the walt Disney cartoons to appear on a daily basis in the evening, laughing & enjoying with my friends... Aah those innocent humbled childhood memories I have.. 😖❤
This is just not the tune for us, it is like the witness of our foundation of childhood and our golden days!! ❤ The more you go away from technology, the more realistic touch and purity in all relationship you will find... Those days will always with us till end.. Prod to be from that golden era!!❤🙏
Born in May 2000, feel like crying when i listen to this. Some of the best memories I had with this. Chandramukhi, shaktiman, hari mirchi lal mirchi andmany others that I'm forgetting. That was probably the best era I would say, nothing can beat that how peacefully people used to live and gather... And there's today's time where people just spit venom in news or be it be social media. Nothing in tv to watch. Pure obscenity/nudity in ott.
There was a time when family gathered in front of the TV to enjoy good quality contents. Doordarshan never failed in giving us good content and kept all people together with harmony. Nowadays TV is just a trash can...A pile of stupid serials, movies and other shows that can't even watch with entire family due to adult content.
