Right? The Churchill's BR is so inflated because of people like that. It's so easy to kill, armor isnt even that good (even in a full downtier its not great) and its cannon is nearly useless against most enemies. I have no idea why people would play it besides for "fun" when there's much better vehicles in British TT at the same BR. Fun being very subjective because the average Churchill either dies instantly to a TD a full BR lower than it or 8 different people try to bomb it
If only APHE didnt overperform ingame. I cant even imagine the reaction of germany or russia mains if APHE behaved more like irl, aka simply producing more shrapnel in a small cone. The HE filler in most rounds wouldnt be enough to kill the crew, and would certainly make cupola shots for example worthless.
Yeah aphe should be more like heat works in this game. Plus spalling doesnt ricochet. I wonder if the current way is a bandage to fix that. Place your bets, what gets fixed first hesh or aphe
Iirc the 'nuke effect' is a way to represent the explosion itself, but then again most shells did not have enough filler to outright kill all crew members. I cant say exact numbers, but a 75/76mm aphe shell should definietly not nuke the entire crew regardless of their distance from the explosion, unless they are in said cone of shrapnel. And imho the shrapnel/spall created by AP rounds should be more lethal. I don't even know how many times I've seen crew members being peppered by a dozen shrapnel/spall and barely turned yellow. Even with max level they should barely survive it. Not sure how much people would like it, but maybe they could introduce a 'shock mechanic' where if the crew member is near the point of penetration and/or is hit by spall they get knocked out for a few seconds. And to reduce it you could increase Vitality or Agility, or something like that. Would prevent getting shot back instantly a lot thats for sure. (I played Britain for more than 5 minutes)
@@dakos1998 I think Spookston said the same thing once But like a Pzgr.43 of the Maus with nearly 800g of TNT should oneshot everything if it enters the crew compartment And some other tanks too
after watching malzi and dollarplays for 2-ish years, I installed WT. I think this game is gonna be fun with the awesome stuff I've been seeing. Will try italy main, they look fun :D
That first battle is just evidence that Russian players rely so heavily on being handheld by their tanks facing off against horrendously overtiered tanks, that facing something they can't pen by mindlessly shooting it is a nightmare for them.
Oh no, as a longtime Soviet player (started back when it was only them or Germany, and I'm not gonna wherb) - they're just that dumb. They can struggle even with really good vehicles. Thankfully the Germans are often so bad they get more attention for that. In fact, it seems more to be the Russian playerbase than the *Russian Playerbase* as I have to stay off of RU/CIS server doing sweaty victory tasks. Because they're that consistently bad no matter what nation they are in.
did they buff barrels at some point? I have noticed since I got back from a long break of playing this game that I can rarely break barrels on tanks and it seems to happen less often to my own tanks too so I guess I am not just getting Gaijined.
I am eternally sad how painful it is to play these tanks after Churchill I, as the armor just doesn't keep up, and the guns are mostly inadequate for their BR (besides the NA variant). Especially the Churchill VII/Crocodile is absolute pain with the 75mm solid shot AP (used by Cromwell at BR 3.0), because it will struggle to deal with most vehicles even when fully downtiered.
Glad I'm not the only one having a miserable experience with the Churchill, how did he survive all this though? I usually die in one shot from my upper front plate...
@@largelogan2615 The stupid ass Soviet shell modifiers are APDS tier, then they also have explosive buffs. All this on shells that of course sucked real ass. I take a 57mm to my clown angled side and get one-shot or brake snipes by a speeding retard in a Soviet tank that could not get through 3rd.
