May Lemke, (d. 1993, at age 93) of Wisconsin, recounts the story of her adopted son. Leslie, adopted by May as an infant, was born with cerebral palsy, retinal issues leading to glaucoma & the surgical removal of his eyes as an infant, & intellectual disability. But, with the determination and love of his foster mother, he blossomed, smashing the limits of expectations by becoming more verbal, witty, and an incredible musician. In today's world, we need more stories of hope, like this one.
