hi guys,... antidepressants usually makes symptoms of anxiety/depression worse for the first 2-4 weeks before you get better (it reduces neurotransmitters first then starts boosting them up after this period - chemical serotonin) therefore there is an increased risk lowering mood and anxiety etc. this is why that guy with anxiety found it to be not working when he took it initially- Its really important for drs/pharmacist to inform patients about this.. and i'm a bit concerned that the doctor prescribed that new antidepressant and didn't tell the patient of these risks (he will have similar effects as Fluoxetine) unless it was edited out of the clip. So please when you get a prescription for antidepressant please note there is this risk of lowering mood at the start but bear with it for few weeks then you will start seeing the benefits of medication (i'm a Pharmacist btw) I hope this helps for anyone reading this..and always speak to Pharmacists if you have concerns about Medications

If you feel like you don't have the grades you could into an access to higher education diploma (usually in science) to get the correct grades/ some universities offer foundation degrees to prepare you to study medicine / if you have a degree in another subject you could look into graduate entry medicine :) if you have the passion and the will you can do it!

Sadly even if he could get prescribed cannabis he'd still be in the same situation. He needs to bite the bullet and get back to work, there's plenty of jobs out there that would take him on even if he views himself as unskilled. And then hopefully becoming productive through work would give him some much needed self esteem and confidence to live his life how he wants smoking cannabis or not.

Not all doctors are the same, at all. I know doctors who are very holistic in their approach and are focused on all lifestyle factors, including diet, alcohol/smoking/drugs, mental health, living conditions, etc. At medical school we are taught a patient-centred approach, moving on from the old days where it was usually "I'm the doctor, you're the patient, take this because I told you to". Even at medical school there are differences in how people consult (during roleplay/practice) and people will naturally develop their own styles. Different patients prefer different styles too. I guess it's unfortunate that people often don't have a choice in the doctor they see.

It’s because NHS has a time limit of 10 min for one patient, because of the high number of patients. it’s not the doctor’s fault to have to work on such a tight schedule. And this film clips are edited so some parts get cut off. Oh and FYI that wasn’t a nurse but a health care assistant ( HCA )
@samsadegian543

Alright mate , but I’m sure if you were dying you wouldn’t want a doctor to come and help you , you’d rather have a nurse 👍 great logic there
@hermie7872
@hermie7872 3 года назад
@@samsadegian543 indeed! why would you waste time on making a consultant giving medical education for nearly 10 years if a nurse can do that job better 😂, People should understand the amount of stress and pressure each job is having, of course if your job doesn’t involve more responsibilities and having less stress you can maintain that super nice attitude up to the last patient of the day, but you get exhausted after a while when it’s draining you. And we are watching just one or two patients of their day and judging the doctors by that when it can be the 30th patient of their day and maybe the 100th patient came with a similar problem they have seen before in their carrier, it’s easy for us to just comfortably watch this in our homes and sympathize each and everyone and judge everyone by saying he should have counseled that patient more, she should have shown more empathy, not knowing the full picture.
@joelvr101
@joelvr101 3 года назад
This is something a person that hasn't had a stressful job only would say. I've worked as med student on A&E, do you really think we have the time to have a nice chat while someone is having a heart attack? No. Do you think doctors have that time in the 10-15 minutes they get to completely go into depth at a complaint, rule out as many harmful disease as possible and also do physical examination? Also no.
