Sora being announced for Smash Ultimate yesterday was the best b-day gift to me. Also, Kid Ikarus is a Nintendo series. Kingdom Hearts was primarily a Playstation game until, but some of the non-numbered games were on Nintendo handhelds. They have added parts of the series to X-box in 2019 to coincide with KH3.

Kingdom Hearts is a fun and glorious series that has helped a lot of people. I know of many people who found relief through it in dealing with mental illness and others who have come to terms with their identities through the characters. The series is also how I met the love of my life, and the series inadvertently ended up saving her. Kingdom Hearts is meaningful to a lot. ^_^
Sora actually got announced for Smash Ultimate yesterday, so the timing on this is actually perfect. That means you have another trailer to react to BTW. Also, to answer your question as to why Kingdom Hearts exists: apparently an executive from Square Enix (the company that makes Final Fantasy games) happened to be in an elevator with a Disney executive, they pitched an idea for a collaboration and crossover game, and now we've had almost two decades of this maddeningly confusing game franchise.
Thing is, this Death Battle is outdated AND made mistakes to undermine Sora's abilities, and that's not even considering the fact that this was made BEFORE Kingdom Hearts 3 came out. Admittedly, they also undersold Pit a bit in terms of durability, but not enough to compensate for what Sora has available.
This is actually Sora from KH2 that was factored in here, but the point still stands. In fact, he didn't even need Limit Form to beat Pit. If the plot didn't constantly nerf Sora, he'd likely be the most powerful character bar none in the KH series by the time KH3 even started
Highly recommend playing Kingdom Hearts. Every game is available in a bundle (DS games were reduced to cutscenes though). They’re also planning on releasing the mobile prequel game as a cutscene compilation as well.
This fight was made well before the release of Kingdom Hearts 3, where Sora gained a ton of new abilities, including transformations without Donald or Goofy's aid; though despite that, there was still quite a few things they didn't go into much detail on. Btw, power scaling in Kingdom Hearts is a bit... inconsistent =| one moment Sora's running away from a Snow Monster that can get knocked over by a tree easily, next he's freezing a giant Black Spirit Bomb and destroys it completely. Also, funny story, Sora was JUST announced for Smash yesterday XD
Kid Icarus never got another game for about 30 years. The first two games came out on the NES whilst Kid Icarus Uprising turned the franchise into a 3rd person shooter and was on the 3DS. Guess who made Kid Icarus Uprising?.... Masahiro Sakurai himself, the creator of Smash Bros. I think he hasn't made another one since Uprising because Smash 4 and Smash Ultimate had taken up so much of his time. But now that he has more free time, he can finally make whatever he wants.
1. Both Sora & Pit are both in smash, with Sora as the final fighter. 2. Many Final Fantasy characters make an appearence in the Kindom Hearts series, including Cloud, Tifa and etc.
This may have been mentioned before, but that first Kid Icarus was from the 80's cartoon "Captain N: The Game Master", which was about a teenager pulled into the Nintendo-based Videoland which also had horrible versions of Mega Man, Simon Belmont from Castlevania, and at one point a floating, talking Game Boy.
Perfect timing with this one. If you want to experience Kingdom Hearts, but don't have the time, or money to play the games, I recommend checking out Team Four Star's playthrough of all the games. It's how I did it and it's super fun to watch.
The part with Pit fighting Link was from Palutena's Smash 4 reveal trailer. It was amazing. Also, "we haven't seen Palutena do anything"--she's why he was flying to begin with, remember.
Yeah, understanding Kingdom Hearts without kowing the plot of every! game is a challenge on it's own. If you want to know more about it there is a more or less accurate video without being too long on RU-vid. "A good enough summary of Kingdom Hearts" by Barry Kramer. So, if you want your brain to melt this is a good video to watch.
Kingdom Hearts is one of those plots that short circuits your brain when you put more than 5 minutes of thought into it. ...but we Kingdom Hearts fans wouldn't have it any other way.
Sora didn’t use Drive or his Overdrive, so he didn’t use his final forms. Which would make him even faster, stronger and affects his health. I have so many good memories playing Kingdom Hearts. I loved playing it on the weekends and when I finished the game, I would just listen to the music from the soundtrack and lay back chilling. Yoko Shimomura did the music for not only Kingdom Hearts, but Final Fantasy XV and Kingsglaive which I also love. She’s an absolute genius (so is Nobuo Uematsu- he composed music for Final Fantasy- he’s literally a self taught musician who is a musical genius. I remember him doing interviews saying he would randomly get inspiration and could come up with several songs in about an hour or two). Not only were the games so much fun, the soundtrack was endearing, clever and abso-fucking-lutely epic.
It was destiny for this video to be uploaded as Sora was announced as the final character in Smash Bros Ultimate. XD Any time you have a question about Kingdom Hearts, literally don’t worry about it. It’s pretty much the most convoluted, in depth, confusing as heck story from any game ever (matched possibly only by BlazBlue). The basics anybody should know are that it was a crossover collaboration between Square (the makers of Final Fantasy) and Disney. Yes Final Fantasy characters are in there and yes that was Cloud. Sephiroth is a bonus optional boss in most of the games. While I like Pit and Kid Icarus better, I have to admit that there really wasn’t much competition here. In the most recent season they pull out even more vastly absurd feats for King Mickey Mouse (yes Mickey Mouse is the king in Kingdom Hearts, just go with it) which Sora would scale to, and those include crossing galaxies in the span of seconds. Also neither here nor there, but since you didn’t reply to my comment on the last MHA reaction video I wanted to say it again here. My RU-vid channel recently broke 600 subs and I’m super happy about it. :D
Definitely agree with the result. Even if you factor in how Sora loses his powers every game (it even gets brought up on occasion) he manages to beat enemies that gods had trouble against.
I'd still say the fight would have been much more even if they allowed Pit to use his magic. Playing the game myself, Pit can use those powers for himself; Invincibility, Black Hole, Mega Laser, Autoreticle, Super Speed, Petrification, Jump Glide, Warp, Land Mine, One Shot Kill, Tiredlessness, Heavenly Light, etc. I really believe they absolutely got how Pit's powers work wrong, especially since in Chapter 23, where Pit was still capable of using his powers and had no access to Palutena or Viridi. He even beat Palutena who brainwashed into trying to kill him, and Pit was still holding back. His Great Sacred Treasure, the mini mech that helped him fight on par with Hades, wasn't even used.
This is a match I don’t know if it would be the same. Pit didn’t use his ultimate weapon the Great Sacred Treasure. And that thing has multiple forms and speeds that outclass his flight speeds. Yeah there was time manipulation, but I feel like the fight would at least be closer.
with this Sora? Maybe. But this Sora was kind of not at his best as well. I mean, in KH3 he beats and kills guys who literally took a ZETTAflare to kill
Kid Icarus Uprising is probably one of my favorite games of all time. Funny enough it’s the ONLY Kid Icarus game I’ve played, but it’s still amazing. Ask me anything about it and I’ll tell you anything you want to know
I think Death Battle messed up with Pit's rundown on how he uses his powers. He doesn't need Palutena to use his other powers; Invincible, Play Dead, Warp, Reflect, Black Hole, Gravity Pull, Super Speed, Healing, Recovery, etc. like when he was in Hades Heart, and he didn't have his Great Sacred Treasure he used to hold his own against Hades. He even beat Palutena who was brainwashed to kill him and survived the Chaos Realm, similar ro the Backyard from Guilty Gear.
@@highlandave8507 I’ve had my gripes with it too, but this is from years ago, so it’s not like we can do anything about it. The odds of a rematch are pretty much nonexistent cause Pit hasn’t had a new game in a while
One problem I have with this fight is the fact that they say that Sora must be faster that Pit because he dodged lightning, yet Pit also has dodged lightning and piloted the Lightning Chariot witch would imply he has a reaction speed just as fast. I'm not saying it would overturn Sora's win, but it is a huge oversight on their analysis.
Kid Icarus is definitely one to at least check out clips of. The game's version of Hades has such a great sense of humor that he became an actual meme for a few years there
-short Kingdom Hearts pointer as far as I can remember (spoiler) -was just one world once upon a time but got ripped apart by darkness and now every fragment/world exist isolated from the others -most worlds represent one disney movie/story like snowwhite, pinochio, etc... and a general disney world were mickey is king of it... -keyblade wielders are the ones who knows that there are several worlds and protect them from evil -mickey is a keyblade wielder too thats how he and his friends got involved -other non-disney world are mostly inhabited by final fantasy characters (mostly without there original backstories...) -living beeings consist of heart body and mind -> if you seperate the heart it gets consumed by darkness and turned into a heartless creature (wierd naming in that case...) and the body and mind without the hearts emotions can act on their own too as a separate beeing... -plus bad guy with an very evil masterplan long in preparation across time and space yadeyade blabla^^ -and much much more mfg Olli

It's my understanding that when first developing Kingdom Hearts, they wanted to make a platformer that would rival the likes of Super Mario 64, and to even approach that level of popularity they had to go straight Disney, and that's why Kingdom Hearts often revolves around Disney's worlds and characters. At least, that's what I heard
Not even close. The actual origin story is even more ridiculous. Disney of Japan and Square Soft used to be in the same building. One day, a person from Square Soft, a person from Disney, and Nomura were all in an elevator at the building together, when the Square Soft guy had the idea "hey, since we basically share office space, why don't we collab on a video game?" Nomura, liking the idea, offered pretty much then and there to be the game's director if it got made.
Kingdom Hearts does indeed have a story, but don't worry Kyle, I pretty sure not even the developers fully understand it, it is literally mind bendingly confusing.
One thing to remember with death battle, If they show a feat that looks notable and they neglect to show a number for it in the analysis, 9 times out of 10 It's a deciding factor in who wins.
i have noticed that multiple times. one character looks like they will clearly be the winer but the other did this one random thing that one time and that alone is why they won Sora Dodged lightning that one time Yea but one of the main parts of gameplay in Uprising is being able to dodge everything if you time it right Pit is the real dodge master
Just found out Sora's VA in this battle is Bryce Papenbrook. The voice of Zidane (Final Fantasy 9), Meliodas (SDS) and probably most famous of all: Eren Yeager (AoT)
So, some clarification if you want it. The Kingdom Hearts series was developed by Square Enix (known as SquareSoft at the time), the same company that makes the Final Fantasy games. I forget who, but in either 1999 or early 2000, one Square employee came up with the idea of creating a 3D platformer of their own. Super Mario 64 had just come out a few years earlier and was still regarded as one of the best video games ever made at the time. Square wasn't confident in being able to create their own characters that could rival Mario in popularity, but they had an idea. They thought that the only characters that could possibly rival Mario in popularity were Disney characters. Luckily, while this idea of creating this unnamed 3D platformer featuring Disney characters and world was still being thrown around Square's offices, Square and Disney were actually sharing a building at the time. One day, a Square employee just happened to catch the elevator at the same time as a Disney employee, and he quickly pitched the idea right then and there in the elevator. The Disney employee liked the idea and arranged for a more 'by the books meeting' to be held at a later date. The project was greenlit, and Square and Disney partnered up to create what would later be known as Kingdom Hearts.

Trust me, a lot of people are put off by Kingdom Hearts weird ass concept. But then that changes once they play the game and get drawn in with how fun it is.
I dont remember this but YES that is Cloud. Sora has defeated both Cloud and Sephiroth in the games Arena. Sparring matches, not fights to the death, but still... I dont think Pit can compete with Sora who by the nature of the games is exposed to much much stronger people and is keeping up.
In the Kingdom Hearts manga, it should be mentioned that Sora lost to Cloud and Sephiroth and in context of the game, Sephiroth was completely holding back against him.
I could've sworn that Sephiroth said something along the lines of "so it's true that only Cloud can kill me", or something like that after his fight with Sora in KH2. Which kind of implies that he took a hit that would've been fatal in the fight, but wasn't because it wasn't Cloud that delivered said hit. I could be misremembering though, it's been about a decade since I won that fight.
@@TnT_F0X Not really in Sephiroth's case since at the end of Sephiroth's cutscene, he was hardly out of breath in the second fight and still had more than enough stamina to fight Cloud afterwards.
@@highlandave8507 What I'm saying is he sparred with and fought alongside Characters way stronger than Pit did. Sure team of three but it's no secret Sora is the strongest between him goofy and donald so he at least contributed a third to destroying world ending threats... as well as the final blow in most cases.
kingdom hearts is a really realy great series. lets you play through classic disney films and even unofficial sequels. such levels include: Lion King Aladdin Beauty and the beast Frozen Tarzan Mulan Tron and tron legacy pirates of the carribean curse of the black pearl and at world's end (yeah they skipped dead man's chest) alice in wonder land big hero 6 (unofficial sequel) toy story (one of the unofficial sequels, took place sometime after 2 but before 3) Tangled there several games. best to get the complete collection which has every game before 3 (which is a lot as it had a lot of non numbered sequels but usually are important to the plot), then there is 3 and a rhythem based game

Keyblade choose Sora because his Pure Heart and Palutena choose Pit he a because Pure Heart Angel and Made him a Captain of her army Defender of Peace!
Hu, question about the kh side. In com, Zexion - as an illusion of Sora- says that the light/keybeam should only hurt those that have given in to the darkness. I don't remember the light ever affecting anyone who isn't falling/fallen to darkness, unless thats changed from kh3 on? So I would think Pit would be untouched by the light? And not a question but- we can't assume that the moon is the same size+distance as our world. The 'worlds' in kh are tiny, I would actually think that each sun/moon across the worlds would be vastly diffrent. =P

Regarding Sora's alternate forms, they used "Valor Form" as an example, but he actually has half a dozen of them with his most powerful being Final form and Master form. But the only one he can enter without Donald and Goofy is Limit form. Which he actually didn't use here. So he did have a power up in his back pocket
I am not happy because we need Eggman to complete the Villain Roster and learning Eggman was just a PNG is the last straw then Sora debuted in a 2002 Game, how is that fair? Sonic has been given the most disrespect especially since his moveset is not faithful, Sonic has 40+ other moves that he's capable of, Sonic Wind from SA2 Battle is one of them.

Donald Duck is the strongest Mage in existence in Kingdom Hearts, being one of the only entities to ever get access to Zettaflare. The base Flare is already an extremely strong spell, notable for usage by Black Mages. One of the only other users of Zettaflare is Bahamut, the Dragon King. However, Dragon King Bahamut isn't always throwing out Zettaflares. His signature attack is only a Megaflare. The Terraflare from Bahamut erased reality itself, forcing it to reboot. I'll find the math to figure out how much stronger a Zettaflare than a Megaflare. Edit : A Zettaflare is roughly 1,000,000,000 times stronger than a Gigaflare. (citation needed, pretty sure I got this one right.) Don't fuck with Donald Duck. He was a soldier.
