Bruno Mossa de Rezende (born 2 July 1986) is a Brazilian volleyball player who is currently a member of Brazil men's national volleyball team and Italian club Modena Volley.
The son and of the legendary Brazilian coach Bernardo Rezende, he is one of the most accomplished setters and volleyball players in the world. His accomplishments include: 2016 Olympic Champion, double silver medalist of the Olympic Games (Beijing 2008, London 2012), 2010 World Champion, double gold medalist of the World Grand Champions Cup (2009, 2013), South American Champion (2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2021), multimedalist of the World League, Pan American Games, Brazilian Champion (2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013), Italian Champion (2016, 2019).

He might've lost some sharpness in his skills now because of age/injuries perhaps but none of the best setters nowadays can compare to Bruno during his peak years. if anything they are catching up to what he used to do before. So yes he earned that #1.

Honestly I think he lost some sharpness after 2019, still top setter, but not as consistent as before especially in club

i dont think he's lost his sharpness, but rather that other setters like Micah Christenson and Antoine Brizard have gotten a lot better. Brazil's been struggling a lot this past couple of years, but in terms of his career i think he's one of the most accomplished setters, if not the most, he probably has titles (both group and individual) from every championship. hes still a great setter, but younger maybe less experienced setters have been killing it lately, like the two i mentioned above

@@gyansagar1389 i mean less then bruno. both christenson and brizard have lots of experience playing for the national team and clubs all over the world. but i think bruno's been on the national team since 2009 and christenson since 2013 so hes got a couple years on him

Puede que brizard gianelli y cristhenson actualmente sean mejor pero el video se refiere a todo la carrera tanto como títulos y hasta que nivel pudieron llegar Tipo para mi bruno rezende en sus mejores momentos era mucho mejor que cualquier colocador actual

Eu concordo, eu acho que o Bruno já não está mais a nível de jogar em uma seleção, talves por condições técnicas. Mas na época do seu auge foi sim um dos melhores do mundo. Assim como o lucão e o wallace etc... Mas faz parte, infelismente o renan já está forçando ele na seleção.

Um levantador à altura de um time que tem Lucarelli, Leal, Flávio, Lucão, Isaque e muitos outros. Trata-se de um conjunto, conjunto grandiosos, mas que no volleyball atual, fica apenas um pouco frente de muitos outros. O volley, hoje, se caracteriza pelo nível altíssimo de competitividade.

Unfortunately he is not the best anymore. He hasn't been playing well in the past three years. Nevertheless, he is still an icon in brazilian volleyball and we will always be grateful for everything he did in the national team.

Micah definitely. Simone comes after. As for Brizzard showed good potential but skill and experience wise Micah and Simone are better.

when a player plays for another country in club volleyball, is there typically a particular season where they play for their national team and during some off season, they play for a club team (another country)? how is the timing negotiated? is there some way that the player avoids playing on another country's club team against their own national team? or are club games completely different from national games?

usually club seasons lasts from october-may, then national team season is from june-september, depending on the championship happening that year. vnl happens every year, and theres a 4-year cycle: olympics -> regional championship (european, south american, asian, african, NORCECA) -> world champ -> world cup. hope thats explained it ;)

their schedule is very busy, theres not much time off. usually in between seasons or championships players have a couple of weeks to relax, but then training starts again

Brazil needs a replacement setter that is taller than Bruno (190cm) if he retires. Fernando is even shorter (185cm) that's why he's having a hard time to block an opponent.

in indoor volleyball, the setter doesn't signal/warn which hitter they are planning to set? they want to surprise the defending team so the setter kind of tries to sometimes deceive who is going to be the target hitter (on their team)?

I mean, one handed sets are not as hard as they look. Last practice i made i one handed back set to the middle right on the money. Either im an amazing setter or i just got lucky. I probably got lucky. Though i also had a back set to the same middle while i was almost at the floor. That was pretty sweet.

Well I can set one hands too very easily and sets from the ground seem hard but they aren't i have the same doubt am i amazing cause my other setter on school can't set one hand ans from ground
