Some of London underground stations have glass walls with doors on the platforms for safety. Germany has toilets in the subways and autobahn service stations but you pay to use them. They are therefore kept very clean. You also get a discount ticket to use next time. But this system doesn't work everywhere.
yeah bro in delhi also there are few stations on the yellow line (line 2) which have platform screen doors, and all the stations of the new lines, magenta and pink lines (lines 7 and 8) have platform screen doors. and also delhi metro uses overhead powerlines

I was thinking that too. And then he contradicts himself again by saying that it's not _exactly_ the same spot. How do those airport trains do it then, and if that's because _they're_ automatic enough for it, then why can't these already be given auto-drive tech?
@@HelloKittyFanMan. I know two train drivers (my friemds) at lul (London underground), central and jubilee lines. While jubilee (first was met line ) getting transformed into auto drive (aka drivers just monitor and open/close doors)... I can assure you, reasonably good driver can stop at same spot plus minus half a meter. Amongst other things there are auto brakes which kicks in of driver doesn't do it correctly- and it happens a lot- the sudden go-brake- go when train departs is one of examples)... In short this part of a video simply isnt true. Doors example. Have a look at london waterloo station, jubilee line. Theres doors on the platform too. And trains weren't automatic when this was installed.
Heat from the electrician appliances make the station warm in the winters ? I mean come on I got so many appliances at home but they don't help at all during the winters. So unfair 🤣🤣
Subway trains in Taiwan are completely automated. The underground trains have "drivers", but they're only there to look down the platform to choose the ideal time to close the doors. Above-ground trains are smaller and completely automated, because smaller train cars empty and fill more quickly.
I simply thought the driver had really good eye sight and could see the train ahead of it from extremely far away. When I was younger I also thought the train drivers had to be super strong to pull the entire train so fast. This I actually thought about with all vehicle.
In Boston, if it’s cold, the tunnels are cold. In the summer the tunnels are blazing hot, hotter than the temp outside, they have to place big fans on the platform so no one passes out
In India there are 14 metro systems, though all do not go underground so all the metro systems don't have third rails. Only some metro systems have third rails such as Kolkata and Bangalore which go underground but some such as Kochi has third rails but go above the ground. Others such as Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai have overhead wires as mostly they do not go underground.
Jakarta has a subway now it's called MRT Jakarta it's in indonesia and it use overhead power cables. Not all subway systems doesn't use overhead power cables/pantographs.

Somewhere on YT there's a video called "bathrooms of the subway" or similar. It's a walking tour of the NYC system showing the locations and many are closed up these days due to lack of funds or other problems. When I was a kid (60+ years ago) I recall seeing many subway rest rooms, and at that time (50s - 60s) they were still in original condition, meaning pretty quaint. Most of them were also fairly dirty so people avoided them. After all, how many people are in the subway for more than 30 minutes? These days you'd be hard pressed to find a decent rests room outside of being in a major station like Grand Central or Penn Station.
Main reason there are no bathrooms in subway is because subway itself is under waste pipelines so everything would have to be pumped up. Maybe it's the reason of "ridiculous" cost of this solution.
There are some public toilets on the London Underground, but you have to know where they are. Failing that head for the station that connects to a mainline terminus, you'll be able to find a toilet on or near the concourse of that station. If you're going through an area with a mall or department store, get off the train and use the one in the shopping place.🚇🚽🚻
Handrails on up escalators are faster than the stairs so if you do not reset your hand you would tip over forward. Down escalator handrails run slower so you would tip over backwards. Safer to fall upwards than downwards.
Guardrails:- at Canada Water station (and some others) on the London Underground, glass or Perspex walls with closed doors stop people from falling onto the tracks. The train doors line up EXACTLY with the doors in the walls, which then slide back to let passengers on or off. I don't know how they do that but I have never seen any sign that the drivers have to work at it. Markers, maybe? However, there are no toilets!
New York City used to have restrooms at all subway stations, but the cost to maintain them and vandalism caused them to be closed by the 1960's. You put a nickle in the coin-operated stall door lock to open it. By law, there was to be one "free" toilet in every restroom. However, it was usually out of order and seldom cleaned.
7:00 Some Paris underground station have translucent walls between the tracks and the people waiting for the train, and only when the train arrives and at the right position it will open sliding doors. I don't know if it's automatically operated or by people though
A long time ago there were public bathrooms in the subways. They even had pay toilets at one time. Don't know what happened to them. I left NY in 1975.

I really don't know what Subway System he's talking about. But in New York City the Subways have bathrooms practically at every station. I suggest that you bring your own A.W.P.!
I thought you meant the restaurant Subway, I've been to loads of Subways the restaurant and not one I have ever been in, In my life has ever had a bathroom in it? I would prefer to know why that is? I'm in the UK we call subway rail here the underground and loads of underground stations have bathrooms in them. This is so confusing now.
At 7:09, you showed the DC Subway called Metro. One thing I don't understand is why at the bottom of the escalator at the Capitol South station it is always very windy there. I should note that this is a long escalator.
I don't know where you've been riding but the subways in NY aren't warm in winter or cool in summer! Most are windy and cool in winter and unbearably humid and hot in the summer.
7:10 in st Petersburg Russia, subway stations have doors fitted for some reason and trains stop on the dot...so its possible.. maybe you can look into it @Bright side
In June 2009, the automatic train control system failed to see a train sitting on the track ahead and sent the train behind it to collide into the train. It was Metro's deadliest accident.
What are you talking about “ warm in the winter and cool in the summer”? It always feels about 20 degrees warmer in the subway stations than above ground. Sweltering and humid in the summer. Somewhere just above freezing in the winter - at least in NYC
