There are no words to describe how good this is. This is, by light years, the absolute best and most professional cover of anything I’ve ever heard. Ever. You strike The perfect balance between the replication of the original with your own subtle interpretations , to the untrained ear most would think they are listening to the original band.
I was gonna leave a comment but you said it all lol, I’d like to also recognize specifically how well the guitars were harmonized for the end solos, sounded nearly identical to the studio recording :)
It would have been amazing to be a fly on the wall and watch those 3 amazing guitarists sit down and work out their parts. We aren't just talking the leads and riffs and fills, but just the rhythm parts they would all play
Wow, you found a way to perfectly demonstrate the expertise of each guitarist including the bass in this version. After the thousands of times I’ve heard this song, I’ll never hear it the same again. I’ve known that it intricately involved all of them but you illustrated this so well. Thank you for sharing this.
There are so many great guitar players and videos on RU-vid that’s is hard to do something that stands out, but that was amazing, dude. The guitar and bass playing, all the nuances of each guy, the different guitars, the editing, the vocals, the production of the whole thing. I could go on and on. Just a truly fantastic job.
The Steve Gaines solo after the first verse seems to be damn near impossible for anyone to get 100% right. That right there should tell you what talent he had.
Dude!! .... ghosting in pics of the origionals, well that's just respect. Perfect touch. Not many play Sothern Rock anymore, you just earned a new subscriber!
I turned 15 y/o on Oct 17 1977 the same day Street Survivors was released. Three days later our world changed. I have heard this song a million times. I have never heard someone other than the original band members play and sound this good. You are an amazing musician. RVZ and the boys would be impressed for sure.
Bought the double platinum album in 1978 - I was 15 , had recently emigrated to the States from Colombia South America !- lit a doobie - turned down the lights - no one was home and for some reason I gave this song a listening before the other ones... was just starting to catch a buzz closed my eyes and walahh !! this song takes off and I take off 😜 .. kept playing it over and over loving every note ,chord ,drum hit, ,bass line etc !! ignoring the other songs ..thinking that the music gods got together and gave this band a gift .. I will never get tired of this song..I fucking love it !! This cover is amazing !! You sir did a fantastic job !!
Oh my! You nailed the tones and playing on my personal favorite LS song, sir. Probably their best written. Can't think of a band with a more tragic history. Nice axes you have also. Thanks for posting!
I don’t see any spot in covers never mind multiple instruments played by one person. This cover is 100% spot on. My favorite part is at the end when Steve plays his lead and then he and Alan harmonize. Who knows how Steve and Alan could have shined with a few more gallons of fuel…. Tragic. Steve’s impact on the band was instantaneous, so much that Ronnie knew what he had right away. Oh what could have been.
Tremendous! Really enjoyed it Great playing. Loved when you superimposed the original guitar player with the lick. Please produce some more skynyrd, same way. Thanks again.
Hey man, just wanted to say I wicked appreciate you putting in the time to put this together and share it for us guitar players who listen to this song our whole lives. Also, showing their images in accordance with their respective parts is super respect from me! I always picture who is playing what in my head when I’m listening! Thanks brother! 🤟
That is just bad ass.. I started thinking about that tune yesterday . there is a mountain of guitar worth learning .. I have watched a couple of the videos here.. You're the only one that nailed it.. has the spirit and everything.. Like I said before , that is just bad ass
Well done, what a great tribute to the best band of the 70's, I got the privilege of seeing one of their last shows with Billy Powell, and I was able to meet one of my all-time idols in Gary Rossington. Gone, never forgotten and when great musicians like yourself keep doing this, the younger generations will know who they are too.
Well! That was frigging awesome! You playing all the string instruments, man? That was great. And the vocals were great. I am SO impressed! I've been listening to Leon Wilkerson's bass playing in a few LS songs, and my god, he was such a great bass player. In just this one song he mixes in about eight different, uh..., I'll call it "modes" or 'styles'. You learned the song. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, McCartney, John Paul Jones, Jack Bruce, and our own. homegrown, Leon Wilkerson are the top bassists in MY book. You do Lynyrd Skynyrd justice.Thank you so much.
Damn Ryan…your a beast! Absolutely my favorite go-to channel for authentic Skynyrd. Maybe someday you can run through some of your amps, and settings. No doubt the tone is in your fingers, but I do think it would make for an interesting session on how you go about sculpting the tone to get that last 10-15 percent of authenticity. Thank you again…killer content!
Great work on one their best songs and thanks for sharing! You really nailed all the parts. Steve Gaines imo, was really just getting started and had more than found his place alongside the 2 other guitar legends. What a band.
