Consider this a sequel to the "Fighting is NOT what he does" video. While grinding out the boss-16 failed attempts in-I had figured that Sacred Effulgence SHOULD be enough to clear phase 2. Mathematically, at least. In my first actual kill, I ended up going with the safe Hikari Limb from Limb strat. But this....this was a mission to instead give Temenos all the glory.
Here, I was trying to find just the right breakpoint. Temenos doesn't actually hit damage cap, but he hits high enough for it to count. He probably could if I gave him more Eatt, but it wasn't needed.

On checking my file, I found that Temenos was running "Upgraded Accessories", which he does NOT need with Alpione's and Fangs of Ferocity. So slotting in Elemental Augmentation pushes him up to 851 Elemental Attack, which is enough to deal with Galdera's main body without assistance from Hikari. It's still not enough to kill the Abyssal Maw in one round (with 309 SP), so Hikari would still need to defend and clean up the Maw on turn 2....But the main idea is that you don't need to spam nuts to hit 999 Ea. As long as it's over 800, he will deal at least 30% of Galdera's HP per hit.

I’m certain you would have destroyed the maw had you defended with Temenos, made Hikari, give Temenos Elemental Soup, and Agnea apply latent power critical scope. Temenos would then destroy every thing completely next turn and you can forbidden elixir, windy refrain, and apply ancient curse tablets to setup his next burst.

@@LtDarkWing I keep forgetting that criticals work on both Elemental and Physical attacks. I got so used to them being different buffs in OT1. Funnily, I did record my second run with Temenos, and also didn't end up clearing the Maw in one hit....so I Lionheart-ed with Hikari. And then I did the math and learned Temenos was only like 600 damage off of killing the Maw. And Hikari did-in 70k damage-what he could have done with 700.

@@Sicarine yeah magic can’t crit naturally, sadly. It needs crit scope debuff from inventor or learned skill.

The spinning flames at 2x speed gave me anxiety at first, but now it’s super weird for me to see the galdera fight at normal. Not bad, of course, just not used to it. Edit: also, I love how the first team is OCTO, and the second team is PATH. I did the same.

Overfilling is very useful for his EX, because it scales off of SP use up to ~545 SP (at least acc to the OT discord)

Which monsters do you use with Ochette?

Initially I had grabbed all the monsters that hit all foes with 2x a weapon type. But knowing that the souls share an axe weakness, that's the one that's necessary. I just grabbed Vagrant Ratking II from the Montwise graveyard. I also picked up a strat from another youtuber about how the Peek-a-boo has a chance to cast Edef Down and Pdef Down. Peek-a-boos are found near Timberain Monsters with AoE Pdef Up are also useful because those souls can hit for like 2000 if they happen to get a turn, but I never ended up using one.

@@Sicarine I defeated it yesterday with Dreadwing, some Frog King and Peek a Boo. Finally got the platinum trophy. Peek a Boo was gold!
