This isn't something Naruto and Sasuke labbed ahead of time exactly. You can see them signaling each other several times throughout the fight, and every move is one they've done before. The most obvious example being when Sasuke pulls out a demon wind shuriken and signals Naruto. In that instant, Naruto understands that Sasuke wants to replicate their strategy from the Zabuza fight, so he does. There's a few of these. We can see tactics from the Pain, Itachi, Obito, Madara, Kaguya, Neji, and Gaara fights in here. So basically, none of this is original, which is why they can work together so seamlessly in this fight.

The fact that Sasuke had 1 less arm and the loss of chakra due to him actively roaming unknown dimensions and Naruto having less than 50% of his chakra with built up fatigue and they beat the heck out of Momoshiki who consumed Naruto's chakra and Kinshiki, is just amazing to watch lmao. This gotta be their peak performance in jutsu's, BIQ etc in the Boruto series.

@@UNKNOWNL3G3NDbro if hagoromo took his powers back in shippuden then sasuke would no longer have the ability to switch places with any object due to the rinnegone that was gifted by hagoromo. The only thing they both lost at the end of shipuden is the Ying and Yang release on their hands that hagoromo SPECIFICALLY gave them for the sole purpose of eternally locking away kaguya inside the moon forever. After that the ying and Yang release dissapeared from of their hangs but they still have most of their so6p abilities.

@@xadexflow5377 rinnegan is something he unlocked when he got the power, he cant just take it back, he gotta pluck his eye away lmao. just take madara for eg, he aint loosing his rinnegan if you take away hashirama cells. same for naruto, he only had things he unlocked by the power he got, i.e truth orbs, which are also gone. what naruto has is Six paths sage mode, which is a power he gets by the combination of power of all tailed beats. and before hagormo said he didnt have enough chakra to transport anyone, but as he got the seals back, he brought back dead kage and what not, that was some siginficant power, which would only grow as they got older

I could be wrong but if your mastery of a jutsu is high enough you don’t need to apply all the hand seals for the jutsu to work. Like how Tobirama’s water dragon has way less hand seals than Kakashi or Zabuza. Naruto only needing one hand seal for shadow clone shuriken might be a way to show how deep his mastery of the technique, especially since it’s close in nature to his signature jutsu.

back in the OG days they had Jutsus that couldn't be easily absorbed. Pain, Obito and Madara all had Jutsu absorption but Naruto and Sasuke always had counters and work arounds.

That's why I don't like Boruto. In fact, all the jutsu are ineffective because every opponent can still absorb chakra, so it's just a way of letting boruto / kawaki become the main characters. And there was a better way to nerf naruto and sasuke than to make him lose his rinnegan ( anyway sasuke must have forgotten that rinnegan has all 6 paths because he never uses them ) in a dumb way. and why did everyone forget to use genjutsu in boruto??

@aether3395 because their opponent is jigen/ishiki. In a fight there are things called activation time. Ishiki has haxed abilities such as shrinking matter instantly. He's not even absorbing at that point.. in other words all of sasuke's 6 paths abilities are useless against ishiki as sasuke is too slow to activate any of it before ishiki no difs them. It doesn't matter how many jutsus they got if they can't hit ishiki with it. It's like having access to guns but your opponent is a wasp that can travel at 100 miles per hour. You aren't gonna hit it and It can continue to sting you. THeres nothing you can do.

@@aether3395 even eida's omnipotence and charm ability doesn't work on otsutsuki. so that makes it pretty clear that genjutsu doesn't work on isshiki / jigen. though it would work on code who sasuke hasn't fought yet, if i remember correctly. the jutsu absorption thingy was obviously gonna happen, it was a necessary power creep. there's no point of the new generation being interesting if everything follows the same old logic. plus the otsutsuki are a world invading alien race, only one was enough to completely change the human world forever, them having different dojutsu and being able to absorb chakra makes sense. agreed , the naruto and sasuke nerf was kinda anticlimactic (even baryon mode , to me). but it was either that or they'd just die because they'd be too much of a liability. at least this way both of them can survive without being the target all the time. sasuke after the momo fight was too slow to make any difference with his six paths. he got power crept that is all. and mind you , isshiki is a pure combat type otsutsuki.

Naruto can make 1,000 shadow clones and still has gas for days, kakashi can make 3 or 4 and hes wiped, so lets assume that naruto has a minimum 200 ish times more disposabke chakra than kakashi (one of the steongest ninja in the world before god powers or generational mutant freaks come into the equation) if naruto is at half chakra, hes still upwards of 100 times stronger than the strongest non-alien, regular human shinobi. I honestly doubt he even notices a drop in his chakra levels until theyre low enough that he can see the bottom.

2:33 "Hiding like a Mole" jutsu is one of Kakashi's mainstays! wdym?! Edit 1: 3:13 They probably didn't choreograph the whole battle, but recognize positions where short combos would work (like combo1, combo2, or combo3). Depending on the success/failure of one tactic and the target's position/focus, initiates the setup of the next most viable combo (combo1 as an opener, into combo3 next because he's in the air, into combo2 that spikes target into the ground, etc.). Naruto and Sasuke have been through so much together, they know how each other think, and often come to similar conclusions as far as the best next move in a battle. It's the biggest reason why they synergize so well in battle. Edit 3: TL,DR: Yes, they basically freestyled that shit.

nope, its headhunter when you pull the target into the ground so just his head sticks out. Hiding like a mole is not the same jutsu. It is the same one he uses against Neji, RIP, in the chunin exams though

@@Sergote12 its debated on if it was JUST brute force or not because he didnt know any earth release technically and the physical requirements to dig a tunnel like that by hand would take much more time than was shown. its thought he used a basic form of the jutsu to dig that one and since it was weak, he still caused damage in his hand. This one is argued to be a full jutsu due to how fast it was achieved and the fact he was a shuriken with no hands and wouldnt be able to actually "dig". in my comment im mostly saying its defiantly not head hunter since head hunter is a trap ninjutsu meant to confine your opponent partially underground and use chakra to reform the ground around the target once theyre in there to make it tight. (bounds past what naruto was capable of in terms of earth style during chunin exams). none of this is HARD confirmed though.

2:50 you didn't mention their reason for doing all of this. It wasn't just to be flashy, they were trying to get him to attempt to absorb the jutsu, and then hit him with Sasuke's sword, a tactic they use several times in other fights. Like against Jigen. It's what Naruto learned while fighting Pein, and has been improved upon since.

4:44 only looks like the shadow field jutsu because of the object that happens to be casting the shadow. Shikamaru has stated it'll work in any existing shadow. It just happens to be round in this case, so shadow possession jutsu makes sense here. Less chakra use anyway I think.

2:20 its actually stated by Kishimoto you dont need to use whole stack of handseals for pulling jutsu. It depends on your chakra control level and jutsu dificulty. In the end you can use only hand seal for jutsu which usually require 20 hand seals. It's probably "sticker over plot hole" throw out the series, but somehow make sence i guess

I have follow Naruto for dozens of years, half of my life in this world, and for Boruto series to just come along and basically said " Yeah, my father was just another Minato, he's just a prequel to my series, and he's not actually the chosen one promised to bring about peace to this world. " is unacceptable. If MK use his other series concept for Boruto instead, Samurai in the cyber punk future, i'll have no problem with the series. At that point Boruto would not tarnish Naruto legacy just to develop the new gen, and when the nostalgia bait show up it will hit much more harder.

They practiced these jutsus together many times. They did that LITERAl same thing to zabuza. To free kakashi from water prison. They just EXPANDED. From what they’ve learned. And the hidden in the ground techbnic they learned from kakashi. When he comes from below. Which Naruto uses against Neji in the chunin exams and uppercuts him from the ground. If you notice ALL moves in the momoshiki fight are call backs to earlier strategies used

I’d argue that it has been watched that many times because one it’s the longest ongoing fight in the verse most others are broken up throughout by talking explaining or monologueing. Also I for example don’t want to watch nor will ever watch boruto but this fight was super cool so for that reason I watched this fight on RU-vid, unlike other fights that I would rather watch along side the rest of the story.

Naruto and sasuke mentioned they felt eachothers chakra . Six paths and rinnegan helped them sense things they hadn’t before the buffs. With battle experience and how elite the two ninjas as individuals are I wouldn’t put it past them that they “freestyle’d” this battle .

Not to be that guy, but Sasuke actually just uses a giant normal shuriken. I wish it had been the demon wind shuriken, but I bet they opted for the ones with straighter edges so it was easier to animate. And the scroll still gets subtitled to say “Sword.” 😂

@@lunarbat6009 nah, he clearly pulls the scroll out of his pocket and uses a traditional weapon summoning jutsu from the old series. I can’t read katakana, so it could very well say “shuriken” on the scroll and maybe the subbers just translated it to sword, or maybe it’s just a mistake. 🤷‍♂️ This episode has like 30 animators working on it so I wouldn’t be surprised if some stuff fell through the cracks

Btw, watch the DVD version of this fight. That's what Saibot is using but most versions you'll see online are the TV version which has horrific ghosting.
