Beth hugging Daryl after his breakdown is such a powerful moment for me It gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

The tough guy can show his emotions and regrets and the weak girl can start the path to be stronger It is a quiet episode but so much development for Daryl and Beth loved it.

You’re gonna be the last man standing That is Daryl’s biggest fear in the world losing all the people he loves and becoming nothing again I remember thinking those words will be ringing in his ears every time someone dies.

Thisis one of my top 3 favorite episodes of the entire series

I love this episode, and I love Daryl and Beth characters development here.

They weren't eating a real snake. They were eating eel, and Norman Reedus (Daryl) said it was the nastiest thing he's ever eaten lol. I always thought that Beth wanting alcohol was because she's aware she could die any minute. She's only a teenager and won't get to experience the "normal" things that teens do. I think she was also mourning Hershel and feeling very lost. I think Daryl realized those things when she started crying at the bar. She's stronger than folks give her credit for but she's still basically a naive, sheltered kid who just lost her home, her second home, and her whole family (as far as she knows). Another side note: the photo that Daryl was throwing darts at was actually pictures of executives at AMC. Norman said that Beth hugging Daryl from behind after their fight was completely unscripted. He said it made it easier for him for Daryl to break down and made the scene more powerful for him.

I love this episode we get to experience Beth a little more because we haven’t seen or heard much from her previously And we get to see Daryl deal with some of his past who he thinks he is versus how others (Beth) see him Daryl basically sees himself in the shadow of whoever’s in charge - Merle/Rick/Hershel - but in this episode Beth was vulnerable and he stepped up to take charge but we also get to see his own vulnerability of being left alone Carol tried to tell him before that he’s just as good as the others but I don’t think he quite believed her.

Man, I love your genuine reaction. I also cried whenever Daryl felt lost in everything he cared about.

Underrated character development episode. Too many insecure and pathetic fans looked down on Beth as a meaningless teenage girl and hated on this episode because of it. I’m glad this episode gave her the moment to shine and really bond with Daryl.

I guess she figured the alcohol would disinfect the cup. I mean the worst that could happen is she becomes a zombie. No biggie. I'd prefer peach schnapps over moonshine.

A very foreshadowing episode!

Love you guys so much our gangvbeen through so much but i say the comics are better because Carl was around the same age and still really small and had to desl with all of they lost which had made him and Rick dynamic way better but since it takes time for a season to start it just doesn't feel the same because we see Carl as a capable young men and not a child
