THAT WAS UNEXPECTED | Dissecting Doss Soundbox XL 

No need to throw hate. If you notice, it was their fault because the speaker battery came out for NO reason whatsoever, I literally didn't do anything for the battery to come unplugged. I know I could've put some stuff in it to fix it but I saw no reason in the beginning because I didn't know that it was just the battery unplugged, I thought that it was just completely broken. Think before you throw hate.

The bass is messed up maybe because it's no longer air tight? Prying it with screwdriver probably messed up the seals. To remove the front assembly, first remove the two speakers then grab the speaker holes to pull it out.

P.S., THEY ONLY HAVE A YEAR WARRANTY, NOT LIFETIME WARRANTY

Based on other reviews, Oluv mainly, I got the Doss Soundbox XL today and it sounds amazing! I can't stop smiling! 😊 First, the 'bad' news, it's made of plastic but doesn't look plastic... matte finish. The volume control doesn't sync, it is not rugged or waterproof, more of a home portable and it doesn't take calls but it does go silent, obviously, when playing from your phone and of course, don't drop it on the ground! The rest is ALL beyond good! The grille is metal and the button console is brushed steel with black round glossy buttons that click easy. Even better than I expected! No hum or rattle! This speaker handles ALL recordings really well! I dunno how! My stereo, which is really excellent, can't do that! Even the highs are good. The bass is great!! Mids work well for most voices. (frequencies) And wired to my old iPod Classic, it really sounds deadly! And MUCH louder too! Maybe 50% volume roughly, on the speaker, is enough. On my phone, I keep the volume loud and control it on the speaker. I can use phone volume buttons too. I have my entire cd collection on that iPod (mp3) so it's great, plus I'm yet to try a micro SD card. ( btw, about that, Doss said format it Fat32 and put songs on it with no folders) That may be softer than the iPod as then there would be no preamp so to speak but the speaker is more than loud enough, so... JUST BUY IT!

Thanks for the Video. My Doss is doing the same thing, it is not charging. The little red light will come on for a 1/2 second when I plug it in and turn it on. I am thinking that the vibrations of the unit may have loosened the wire plug inside the unit. My unit is almost 3 years old now. It did take a fall from my wall unit onto the carpet 3 weeks ago and that is when it stopped charging. I will bet that the fall caused the small wire inside to detach. I have not opened the unit yet to fix it. I don't want to ruin it and the device still works plugged in. Any advice. ?

Mine just use less than 2months and Not play more than 20times.few days ago I charging while playing music suddenly cut off everything and spoil it. I complain with Doss they send me a new one but need pay USD15 for shipment. My friend help me open up and check it, the mother board burn it. My friend said the internet battery only 7.5w but charger power is 12w may be over power. I No idea for this, but seem this soundbox is Not a good quality.

I opened mine up because the subwoofer got a lil screwed up after the speaker suffered a 5 foot fall. After putting it back it was pretty much fine but the subwoofer sounds very distorted and the passive radiators don't seem to work anymore. How do I get it to be airtight? Much appreciated if you could reply. Thanks

I would try sealing it with silicone and see if that helps

a very unfair trash review.......what the hell matters whats inside a product if it works just fine......for $70 @ Amazon right now you cannot buy a better sounding portable BT speaker......period.......You mess up the speaker for what purpose? no sense at all......Who's gonna be the dumb to buy that speaker after you ruined it........my God
